I don’t even need a game. I just want this. I want to walk around the Enterprise. No missions. No threats. Just the ship. I’d put it on before bed and just wander the halls and quarters. I can’t imagine anything more relaxing.
It makes me so happy that the hard work and dedication by the artists that put together this project doesn't go unseen. I'm glad it at least lives on, on the hard drives of people all around the world. Maybe one day if CBS has some sense, we will be able to walk around that beautiful ship with VR goggles and generative models to power the story and characters!
A truly complex and interactive highly realistic Star Trek Video Game would truly take over the sales because it has endless potential stories. The fact that it has not been done tells us something about the industry.
The industry as a whole does not care about optimists such as myself. Do you know Governor Nix from Tomorrowland? I do not want to spoil part of the movie.

Same here, CBS should have took it as an offical project over killing it. They could have introduced DLCs by adding recreations of the other Enterprise ships as well.

@@Milner62 they would have had to pay the devs, and they're too greedy for that. Better to pay friends of friends' (or family members') companies tens of millions than actual fans anything, even if the companies have barely heard of Star Trek, or actively hate it.
This was a project called "Stage 9". The goal of it was to build a complete virtual Enterprise D in unreal engine (including the areas that were never shown in the series) It was a free fan project. Sadly CBS stopped this project because they thought it doesnt match their copyright regulations. Its such a shame that this project was forced to stop by CBS. The developer team was planning much more. The same developer team then created the "Orville Fangame" wich can be downloaded on steam for free. Its much like Stage 9 a recreation of the Orville with some extra features. It kind of shows what stage 9 could have been if the development would have continued.

Imagine AI on the fly coming up with information to display, making consoles actually part of a story (rather than just an art asset) the AI is coming up with on the fly, imagine how detailed the ship mechanics could be, each random crew member having an actual role to play in that; all of it thought up and ran by the AI.
This is just incredible. I can’t imagine the work that went into this. If I were to make one suggestion, it would be brighter hallways, but that’s it. My god.. I’ll be putting this on before bed every night.

Mir geht's genauso. Habe auch die letzte Version. Absolut fantastische Arbeit. Die VR Version ging leider nur bis Version 7. Schade, dass es nicht fortgesetzt werden konnte. Als nächstes wäre das Dixon Hill office, das komplette Runaboat und noch mehr Korridore erschienen. (Unter anderem die Sektion, wo Rogar Danar Sprengsätze gelegt hatte) Und natürlich das neue Rendering, was wir leider auch nicht mehr erleben durften. Ich hasse CBS dafür. Echt. Vielleicht wird es doch noch eines Tages fortgesetzt... ich würde jedenfalls gerne dafür zahlen, sollte es etwas kosten. Der Haupt Entwickler Rob Bryan "Scragnog" arbeitet jetzt mit seinem Team für das Roddenberry Archive und Sie haben das Projekt aufgeben soweit ich weiß :( Aber Sie haben andere Projekte rund um Star Trek und stellen die Orville virtuell her.

Das hat nichts damit zutun ob die sich einen dreck um fans scheren, das hat damit zutun das Stage 9 ohne Erlaubnis Copyright geschütztes Eigentum kopiert hat. Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher dass die das nur wegen dem Roddenberry Archive gemacht haben. There is a VR version but this footage is from the pancake version. Unfortunately production was forced to close before a bunch of fixes were due to be added and the last VR version has the NPCs all wearing Santa hats.@@Zodroo_Tint
I need to hear the full story behind this project. Maybe a documentary is what's needed to shed some light on this. The cost of the full release of this project really is priceless.
@@pferreira1983 It is being continued, by the same guys, as an officially licensed project for the Roddenberry Archive using OTOY rendering. They're also doing all the E's, from NX to the E! They publish videos now and then!

Now this is a treat, getting to actually walk around the ship. I just wish we could build this in our time and add in the warp drive part later when we figured it out.
I love seeing these views and rooms they never showed on the series. I dont' care about the bridge, Ive SEEN the bridge .. take me to that little room that geordi would disappear into in engineering or show me the places we never got to go. Really beautiful work!
I would like to thank the cameraman that went through time to capture this for us all to enjoy. Next tour I hope he will show us inside a Klingon "Bird of Prey"
Thank you for doing this. The version I was able to try was buggy. It didn't follow my commands and kept showing me NPCs when I toggled them off. Your tour is much better!
I will always hate CBS/Paramount for killing this. Stage 9 wasn't harming anything. If they were selling it, then sure I get where CBS/Paramount was coming from. But they weren't. It was a passion project made by fans for fans and goddammit it was so amazingly detailed. Had they kept going I'm positive they would do DS9 next and all the other ships. Just to walk around those sets is a dream I've always had and I'm thankful they made that dream real (or real enough). I just hope my computer will still be able to play it for many many years.
Holodecks were awesome. Saucer sep was cool but we never saw it reconnect 🤔 I really loved the main shuttle bay. Something we never got to see on the show. Very cool. I would've taken a shuttle over to check out that Excelsior class ship, and the Borg encounter was great also. 👍 Thanks for sharing this. Really cool
Leute Das ist Meeega schon nach 4 Min reinschauen feier ich Es.. Da können sich die Spielegiganten echt ne Scheibe abschneiden & verflixt wenn da jetzt User eigene Abenteuer gemeinsam schreiben & Programmieren, würde das der Renne rauf Jahre werden auch wenns kein Open world Spiel werden würde. They need to make an open world game in UE5 where you captain your own ship like this. It takes damage that costs resources to repair, has a over arching story, etc...
Why did they shut this down? CBS lost a huge opportunity here. They could have hired the makers to finish it then released it as a product to buy and they would have made a fortune!
It's sad it didn't develop into the final product. In my opinion, we're not the only ones who lost out but cbs have lost out on several things Free advertising Finding out what the fans want Cbs could easily find people with amazing skills like studio 9 and bring them into the productions. @@willtell8842 ah yes, I love DF (I think it even counts the number of teeth each dwarf has remaining), although Skyrim mods using GPT show huge amounts of potential with story and NPC interaction.
I was just thinking how amazing it would be if they could train a specialized generative model that does storytelling, but with focus on the the books and TV shows. It'd be so cool to just walk around a living and breathing ship, everyone with backstories and jobs, missions generated in such a way that it mirrors the formatting of an episode, maybe with season arcs even! I wish CBS didn't kill-off this fan project, it has so much potential.
@@marthinus.x yes perfect way of putting it, "a living breathing ship", from the NPCs down to the engineering that makes a starship (and many of its systems) work within that fictional universe.
@@capuchinseven I kind of do this now with a GPT4 running in roleplaying mode in a fictional universe . its a bit hard to explain but definately all this is possible now.. and more so in the near future.. 2023s been amazing for this kind of thing
imagine big companies always have to shut down fan projects because they own a brand even if there is absolutely no profit or damage caused by fans that just really love something by heart
It's a corporate power flex. They know it doesn't do any harm, but they have to be seen to be doing something about it. It's a really poor attitude masquerading as a show of strength from a bunch of men in suits.

@@AndrewChapman I think they just put that door there to placate fans who said there didn't seem to be any bathrooms in the 24th century. Perhaps just another difficulty humanity had overcome? (I only remember Troi's bathroom in the show, and I only remember it being used once--I think in that episode where she turned into a fish? I can't remember. Maybe I blocked that episode out of my memory. There may have been a couple in the movies--when Picard looked in the mirror and saw that Borg thing burst out of cheek? I think that was in his bathroom--although technically a dream/nightmare.)
Hast aber ein paar Easter Eggs übersehen , man kann eine Konsole im Maschinenraum benutzen , löst einen Warpkern Bruch aus inkl. Runterfahren der Schotts und Computer Stimme . Aus dem Shuttle (geht nur mut Typ 6 ) kann man per Fernsteuerung die Untertasse abtrennen geht mit der Konsole in der Mitte "remote saucer seperation " . Schade , dass das Projekt eingestellt werden musste hatte soviel Potential . Am Ende waren die gerade dabei die Transporter funktionsfähig zu machen inklusive beamen in DS9.
@@Augur89 der Runabout in Main Shuttle Bay lässt sich auch fliegen Türen gehen bei Annäherung automatisch auf , Neben dem Runabout ist ein schwarzes Schott dort geht es zur Phaser Shooting Range , auch diese funktioniert 🙂
It surprised me that it didn’t show phaser bank nor proton torpedo control. Would have been interesting to see just where a proton torpedo would have been used to send Spock’s body to the Genesis planet.

Hello, die Simulation läuft ja nur auf Nvidia-Karten... welche Karte würdest du empfehlen bzw. welche Karte hattest du im Rechner als du die Tour gemacht hast?
Ich meine irgendwo gelesen zu haben, dass nur Nvidiakarten unterstützt werden (man kommt aber kaum mehr an Informationen, da alle Foren diesbezüglich längst geschlossen wurden)...Da das Projekt von 2018 ist, hatte ich gehofft, dass es mittlerweile möglich sei, das Spiel auf einer günstigeren Nvidakarte laufen zu lassen. Ich habe es auf verschiedenen Rechnern und Notebooks getestet, es läuft auch auf Intel-embedded Systemen aber ohne HW-Beschleunigung (also grottig). Auf meinem Ryzen 5 läuft es nicht...
@@s.tamagotchi1483 Ja es erfordert in jedem Fall einiges an Leistung, wenn man es mit maximalen Details in 4K genießen will. Aber ich denke trotzdem, dass es auch mit vergleichbaren Karten anderer Hersteller laufen sollte. Testen kann ich das allerdings leider nicht.

Möglicherweise meinst du Star Trek Bridge Commander (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BedAbgycLJ4.html). Dort kommandiert man sein Schiff von Brücke aus, aber wirklich frei bewegen kann man sich dort nicht. Ansonsten gibr es noch Elite Force 1 und 2, in denen man darauf herumlaufen, aber dafür nicht das Schiff steuern kann. Star Trek Armada 1,2 und 3 (die Mod) sind Strategiespiele. Ein Star Trek Spiel, in dem man sowohl auf den Schiffen herumlaufen, als auch diese steuern kann, gibt es leider meines Wissens nach nicht
How do I get a copy of this version? The version I have has generic NPCs and tons of bugs. Keep falling into space. No tricorder. Can't move ship. None of the cool stuff in this video.
