I loved it except I wished that the images followed the actual (or future) timeline better. They jumped around showing future, past, future, past, past, future...
My only beef was that the intro song should've been instrumental, not sung. It was ok, but I would've preferred the intro to "In a Mirror, Darkly" or "Elder Scrolls"/"Mass Requiem" piece in one of the You Tube videos. I felt myself having to ff to get to the episode beginning. Songs are better left to drama shows-like "Cheers" and dramas like "Life Goes On".
The beauty of the Star Trek universe is the morals and values it holds for humanity. It seems disheartening to watch it these days, but then again all the events depicted took place after a kind of global war and disaster, then people put it all back together and made something beautiful. Perhaps that is the faith we can find in our hearts - not just individual accomplishments but the rise of our entire species out of darkness.
@@heastner Johnny Arch would definitely disagree with this assessment Starfleet started with a handshake. Archer started the Federation. It was hell but NX-01 got it done
It amazes me that a rag-tag group of producers, directors, writers, and actors (many of them with personal faults, failings, foibles, and grudges) still managed to put together a compelling show based on the highest of virtues, and of humanity finally growing out of its infantile stage and its greedy, grasping ways, to explore a vast galaxy and forever learning as they go. It gives me hope that we humans are not destined to destruction, even if we are a bit screwed-up individually. Happy Birthday 50th Star Trek!
Gordon Davis IV only if our world could be this way , imagine what we as a human race could achieve if we could put our disagreements and hatred for one another aside forever
This song embodies Gene roddenberry's idea of the original Star Trek Concepts get the book by William Shatner Star Trek TV Memoirs in Star Trek movie Memoirs I read both book if you like this then you'll definitely enjoy the books you won't be disappointed thank you for putting up here I always love this opening to Star Trek Enterprise it's one of them very underrated Star Trek TV series out there
You trekies can fight about this song all you want But it’s still the perfect lyrics to explain mans journey to what most real trek people strive for Progress
I am winding toward the end of this incarnation. I have many more years behind me than in front of me. Many would say I am just an Old Fart, but I still have Faith Of The Heart!
I loved& still do All of the Star Trek Movies&Series,l am a 74 Yo lady& l would gladly wear the Star Trek badge proudly on my chest,Thank you all who are involved with these great movies& series,l hope they will continue in the future for our new generation.
spot on :). Lets not forget Jerry Goldsmith for his amazing music composing skills in composing all the amazing theme music for all the great themes from TOS to TMP to TNG and First Contact to Nemesis. So I say for all the fans of the whole star trek fandom when I say this. Thank you Mr Roddenberry and Mr Goldsmith you two amazing men for bringing us Star Trek and all the amazing pieces of music that came with it.
THANK MR RODDENBERRY FOR STAR TREK IT WAS SO SAD THAT HE DID NOT GET TO STAR TREK 6 I HOPE HIS SON CAN MAKE THE NEW STAR TREK TV SHOW AS BIG AS HIS FATHERS STAR TREK
I always think of Gene on August 19... Me and Gene are both originally from El Paso, TX! Times like this, I wish I was Gene's son to continue the legacy of the Star Trek we all know by faith of the heart! Eventually, Corporate Greed, and Colonization of Space will bring Humanity to new levels of exploration... If anything.. "There's GOLD PRESSED LATINUM In Them THAR HILLS!" Ferengi Chant of Greed.. ;) :-)
I love how they've managed to keep the Star Trek story going with TNG, DS9 and Voyager whilst also creating a prequel to TOS with Enterprise along with a few parallel universes
This version of 'Where My Heart Will Take Me' is performed by Russell Watson. Rod Stewart performed the version used in the soundtrack for Patch Adams.
@@DesertlizzyThe It is Russell Watson who sings the song in the opening credits of ENTERPRISE. Rod Stewart signs the version heard in the movie, PATCH ADAMS.
Correct. This is indeed the Russel Watson “Enterprise” version. Although he has some gravel in his voice similar to Rod Stewart, I can confirm this is NOT Rod Stewart’s version. That said, great compilation and editing. Loved it!
There is science fiction, and then there is Star Trek. No other franchise can even come close to the genius of Gene Roddenberry's vision of the future. Star Trek is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there will ever be.
The best Star Trek compilation that I have watched. I would like to have watched the end when the Klingons insulated the Enterprise when Scotty hit the Klingon.
I love this song. When Enterprise was originally airing I would watch it with my kitty. I would sing along to the theme song. I think that kitty enjoyed it.
If only real life we living now can be like STAR TREK universe..humans coming together to achieving a big..dream..conquering the stars, and meeting new life..
I realize even more when I see this video just how much I've seen in my life w/all the different captains/crews???!!! I'm 55; I remember watching the original Enterprise w/Shatner every Sun. morning on TV when there were only 3 channels!!! LOL
Joshua Plotkin In the spirit of sharing info, Titan boosters were never "man-rated", they were only used to boost satellites. Humans rose the Redstone suborbital rocked, then the orbit capable Atlas, then the Saturn 1B and Saturn V.
@@chazzwozzio PERFECT Chime!! (Lighting the fuse with Buzz's protective head shield bubble..) WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHH! "I'm falling with style!" Buzz Lightyear
I don't know why this was suddenly recommended to me in 2022, but I'm glad it was. I know that this isn't the most beloved theme song in the Trek universe, but to me it's not only inspiring, but I think it fully embodies Gene's vision for the future of humanity.
I love it too but the other series' only cement it's awesomeness. from TOS to TNG to Strange New worlds only makes TOS even more relevant and meaningful!
NOW THAT WAS LEGENDARY!! That was a tribute and then some. You knocked that tribute out of the park, HOME RUN! I will be watching this video again and again for a while. 😎🤙👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
this song best installs with Gene Roddenberry had in store for Star Trek in his intent behind the story this song is perfect for what he meant Star Trek to be and like the man below said thank you Gene Roddenberry for what you did making and create this series and to the family and friends of the man who made this the one of the best science fictions out there the time
The opening video montage just keeps reminding me that we went from the Wright Brothers to landing on the Moon in less than 70 years. And that many things are impossible simply because they haven't been done yet, not because they can't be done.
It's 3:55 am. where I am, and I'm seeing this for the first time. It's such a beautiful and fitting tribute. Star Trek encouraged me to look to the future with so much hope. James T Kirk is my captain, and I'll never forget the awe and wonder of seeing the very first eposide of ST:TOS in 1968. They are my heros. LLAP.🖖
I love it. I was there at the beginning & never stopped being a fan. I recently got a new cat. He’s called James Tiberius Kirk, or Jim for short. He loves the video & the music too.
Reese Ni: You could get the DVD box set from that series. It's a bit pricey at around $80 on Amazon. BBC has Star Treck episodes M-F. DIRECTV Channel 244. I agree with you about Captain Janeway. I love so much about her.
It's weird (read: irritatingly predictable) that Sisko's pop culture impact is basically "He shoots stuff or tells other people to shoot stuff" when his primary character trait is "everybody's space dad."
54 years! I was 11 years old when Star Trek first entered the airwaves. No matter the series, the show answers two important questions of human existence: "What if...?" and, "Why not?".
OMG, from Star Trek itself, and even that beautiful intro in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, by David Bowie, to space travel for real, happening in the 2020s...beautiful tribute to Star Trek and space travel itself.
I have watched the various Star Trek series and movies for almost 60 years. I am an Iowa native and earned 2 graduate degrees from the University of Iowa. Riverside is close by but I never could find the Federation shipyards.
Great job all around. I think JJAbrams and his 2 cohorts hit a home run with the reboot movie. And I have never and never will watch any animated version of this show...ever. I began watching this show the very first day it aired and haven't stopped watching every incarnation since. You will find me in center seat at the very first available showing of any and all Star Trek motion pictures.
Absolutely by far the best-constructed video I have ever seen to go with the music - 1001% thumbs up, and 10 and a half stars out of 10, gave me goosebumps! Well done
A fantastic celebration of everything Star Trek, in one emotionally compelling video. Though I feel it was less a celebration, than a requiem, as CBS treats its fans with disdain and disrespect - that the holders of the franchise's rights would seek its undoing ("Most illogical" - to paraphrase a Vulcan). Still, if any memorial were to be held for a series that has inspired so many to reach for so much, with so little, then so be it. I would be proud to call this video its elegy. I hope us fans can, in the spirit of Cardassians of all things, let this distasteful moment in time pass us by, and be ready to strike silently and swiftly to take back the fictional universe that is a part of so many of our lives - with cunning, speed, and a victory that humiliates our opponents into submission.
Loved This. Being a huge Star Trek fan and loving the song Faith of The Heart, especially the version sung by Russell Watson, this is a very fitting piece. With the Enterprise(s) in our past it could be the only choice of a name for the very first ship like one in the various series and movies to be called that. It would be very fitting when we are able to explore space in the same way. Thank you huncd2012 for putting this together. Nice compilation.
Small tweaks I would have made, but still, this is a labor of love. And something I don't think I could do. I call myself a proud Trekkie to recognize where every scene is from.
I didn't get to watch Voyager, came on at 1:30 am and I had to be to work by 7:30 am on Sunday. Going to ask for it for my birthday and Trek out for a few days. Have all but the latest movie.
Oh my goodness from a long life fan of all that is STAR TREK ... THANK YOU so much for this excellent... video that goes with all the various series and films of this Massive forever franchise.. a Beautiful well edited. .. well made .. scenes to go with the excellent song , sang by Russell Watson... made me cry as well .. . God bless the crew of the ENTERPRISE.... that have passed on BEYOND THE STARS ... " Next Star to the left and straight on till morning ... thanks once again ... !! Take and Stay Safe ...
My family's cats will sometimes play 'Faith of the Heart' in some stories I write to get the attention of whoever they're trying to get the attention of and then purr or meow to say hello when the friend they're trying to get the attention of turns around. Sometimes they'll even use rhythm attacks timed to the music and then purr or meow to get the heroes they're helping to sing along with them.
