Crabbok I like your backdrop of your games or dining table. Makes you seem more like one of us. At least for me it does, feels more personal. You're talking to us, not at us.
Of all the games from FFG, this game brings the most depth, love, and time. It has a heart for it's fanbase, and brings many together. I will always love this game. Thank you Alex Davy, and to all the other designers of this game.
Really loving the game eagerly looking forward to new releases and when our local game store becomes a place for organized play. Keep up the awesome work guys and gals at FFG from Canada!
Not a huge tabletop war gamer. I love imperial Assault and that is more my style.-- But this looks awesome! i may just have to get it.....even if i have to play it by myself. .
Been a fan of the old West End Games Star Wars Miniatures Battles for YEARS. Glad to FINALLY have a source of high-quality miniatures, especially the vehicles. Really hoping that terrain (Tatooine buildings) gets a big focus with future waves. I have a modest collection of bashed together stuff, but the ones that are showing up on FFG demo tables are fantastic!
I hope to god it isn’t only OT. I love the OT, but I seriously want all three trilogies. That would be incredible to have a droid army. Would buy IMMEDIATELY!
I play lots of table top games and all fantasy flights star wars games. Been looking for this to happen for years. Important : got to have more than one faction and release new stuff regularly.
I actually kinda prefer the two faction system. But yeah more dudes eventually. Maybe Dark/Light side as the main factions mixing up different eras and stuff, with some minor bonuses for sticking with one subfaction. X-Wing, basically. Except let SnV be mercenaries that either side can use. I mean, that's basically what they are... Some exceptions, but mostly. Also, avoids the inevitable goofiness of having to fill out every role in an army so you end up with freaking Jabba the Hutt slithering around the table like lol wut.
What am I most looking forward to. Well I am mostly wish listing but in the future I would love to see other armies eg Tusken Raider force or an army of Wookies. And perhaps explore other eras of Star Wars like the Clone Wars.
Always love this universe, and love your company in how it keeps game-play simple with anything special on a card, not something that has to be looked up in a chart or graph. I have been enthusiastically getting players new to table-top games to take up Legion. Such a good job was done we have actually caused our local brick-mortar-store to sell out of the core sets before even release. (we are all eagerly awaiting release day so we can get them in our hands), We now have the game and expansions in our hands. Such nice miniatures, only very light mold lines, ease of assembly, and larger size so painting is easier. Would it be a issue if we painted the Storm troopers as Nova troopers, or will there be a later release? Nova troopers typically escort high level dignitaries so Darthvader and general Veers are natural vips that should have equally good troops to protect them. We have made quite a few tables already and I personally have purchased 2 core sets, 2 atst's and a snow speeder, will be buying another atrt for the rebels and then Snow troopers as my heart lies with the empire, when funds permit. The buying frenzy at our local store has caused us to make a new gaming club and is introducing many new people to your great game. We are also running 400 point demo games. Any ideas or support sudjestions you could give a new club such as ours would be awesome!
They've already said multiple times that everyone is encouraged to use whatever color scheme they want for their troopers. However, as EA wisely pointed out, Pink Vader can never happen, because it would trample upon all established SW canon... unlike Kylo and the separatist droids battling Yoda and the resistance on the Death Star... that totally happened.
Non Washable If it were paired with a Revanchist faction in a big box expansion? Im hoping 100%. I would kill somebody in front of their grandma for an Old Republic expansion. Ok maybe not... but still... even a baby expansion like that corellian joint for Armada.
So far the game is amazing & as a massive fan of starwars this is the game I’ve been waiting for - as a figure painter I can express how disappointed I am. Due to the very poor casts & combined with soft pvc plastic, which is terrible to work with & clean to any decent standard the what could have been epic models will never look like anything better than board game pieces. The vehicle casts are fantastic though. The clean lines are that very clean. (Thank you). I think the other element which sadly feels to have missed its mark is the units are single posed. Even separate head components would have made collecting repeated units fantastic but again make this potentially epic game an extension of a board game look. I’m hoping future releases address some of these items.
(They did address all of this and now everything seems to be hard plastic) Even the Stormtroopers aren't bad and are some of the best soft plastic minis i've had. Definitely prefer the hard plastic though
I wish Legion good luck and success. I understand that this game needs to be hyped to take off, and I'm optimistic that FFG has enough passion for their Star Wars-games that I'm looking forward to new releases for Imperial Assault this year. In my book, Imperial Assault is the best Star Wars-game from FFG and sets the bar very high for Legion (and I'm saying that as a long-time tabletop-wargamer and miniatures-painter), because it revolves around the heart of Star Wars - the characters and personalities that live in, shape and change the setting.
Question regarding the T-47 Airspeeder, specifically Wedge and the Harpoon: Wedge lets you pivot 360. The harpoon says, "perform a pivot with that vehicle". Obviously, this means that Wedge can pivot the T-47 he's in as far as he likes in a turn, but does that also mean that Wedge can harpoon an AT-ST and spin it completely around? The way I read it, he could. He should also be able to do both in the same turn, as Wedge's card says "until the end of your activation".
I would super interested in the Clones entering because I am a big fan of Clone Troopers and their walkers like the AT-TE :-D also it offers plenty of great wargaming :-D
If is possible for the future, can you realize an expansion or a second edition set in the clone wars, with the separatists droid army, the repubblic clone army and the hidden war about the Jedi order and Darth Sidious and his apprendists. Thanks for your work and sorry for my english 😅
That's cool that it's finally coming out. Seems like a lot of people are excited for it. 'Coming out Q1...' Yeah, LATE Q1. Hopefully they can get their act together in the future and take a page from Wizard's MTG release playbook.
If you're new to FFG you need to know that this is pretty standard for their release dates. Take them with a grain of salt or a spoonful and use the 'coming Q#' as when to start looking for it, not when to automatically expect it.
I'm not new to FFG, and that's why I made that comment. ;) I hoped that they could have improved in the last few years since I started playing their amazing games. They have such potential with the Star Wars license and great games. Wizards is like clockwork with MTG. You know when releases are going to be WAY in advance and people eagerly await them because there's a certain cadence. They have a much better promotion strategy as well. Being owned by Hasbro helps, but being a marketing professional myself, I can think of some relatively easy and cost-effective strategies they could leverage to take things to the next level.
Im a wargamer yes i am, an da SW fan almost all my live. Im realy looking forward to legion hopping get its way at the wargaming scennario. And also that i hope it arrive here at my country XD
And IMPERIAL ASSAULT!!!! The first part of them describing Legion sounds exactly like Imperial Assault... Character driven, with special abilities for the characters...
TIEbaron Holy shit WHY wont people shut up about the dice? Here's an idea: GET SOME MORE. They're like 5 bucks. And consider the ridiculous amount of components you get for such a great price. Even if 4 extra dice packs were absolutely mandatory to make it playable, it would still be great. Especially compared to *certain other* tabletop game companies... a dozen regular ass d6's? $20. Unit/reference cards? Also $20. A goddamn three inch piece of flat plastic? $10. Three (admittedly badass) Golden Space Mans? $20.... APIECE. Heresy- I mean 'Magic Space Super Soldier Mans Civil War'- era Space Mans Squad in (ugh...) *finecast*? 40..... POUNDS! That's right. Fuck you, America! (And I guess also every country that isn't England-Land, but nobody cares about them.) Give us our goofy colorful ass money, bitch! And on a totally unrelated note: Space Nun girl versions of Space Mans? Hahahahahahaaaa.... prepare to have your colon violated...
Kyle Jordan Gaming - Legion dice are $14.95 on FFG's web site and are more expensive than x-wing dice. TIEBaron - just reroll dice. I did that for the first few months of playing x-wing. If you like Legion, than purchase a dice pack. I really don't think dice are an issue. The bigger issue is cards being locked in expensive expansions. This is even a greater problem than x-wing since legion expansions are more expensive than x-wing. FFG really needs to sell card packs otherwise it will force its customers to just create high quality proxies and get less money out of us otherwise.
Shadow Jax Confirmed. I got some leaked images. Hard to see, but JarJar seems to have an awesome melee weapon... and... is that a Force Power in his upgrade bar...? OH SHI- #DarthJarJarConfirmed
This video makes me sad now. You guys poured your hearts and souls into this product and they just took it away from you? That’s some BS! Oh I’m very sorry about how those things transpired but I know you guys will be fine still with all your new products. That’s not the point. Having the rights to an amazing Star Wars board game Series must’ve been an incredible experience you guys did such an amazing job! I’m a huge fan! Thanks for everything you did on this title.
I dig star wars, I dig mini's games and have played them for decades. Cool looking mini's, decent paint on them for the video, yet I feel no drive whatsoever to collect or play it. Its a top notch quality game I have no interest in to be honest. For me the "It's Star Wars" marketing isn't enough in the sphere of what is out there, and may not be something FFG should completely hang their hat on.
Jordan Bavis In order: LAAAAME. Eventually. Yes please god anything besides boring ass stormtroopers. Seriously, Yoda is the worst. Damn goblin sitting around smoking weed all day. That's all he does. For real. Why do you think he's *green*...? Eh? Mhmm...
you should call the game Star Wars Platoon or Squad but not Legion. When i first heared of it i say yheah at last we can get big land battles with cool miniatures. But in this size??? its to big for a huge battle. I wish you had done it in the flames of war style. (15mm) I really want to play a walker assault on hoth with at-ats and not a platoon size skirmisher. No offense intended iam sad but so i stay at flames of War and Team Yankee and dream from the day when there will come a good massive ground Battle Star Wars Tabletop Game.
"It's THE game for people who are not traditionally miniature game players to get into..." The totally untrue and unrealized FFG dream. Played overwhelmingly by miniature gamers, but you can't blame them for wishing they could get all those board gamers to buy in.
How dare you talk badly about the excellent Blastech E-11 of the Empire's glorious Stormtroopers! I am curious to know, especially after reading a couple of the other comments about the miniatures, if you got the idea for _Legion_ as a wargaming adaptation of _Imperial Assault,_ and the idea for _Imperial Assault_ as an adaptation of the line of RPG's mechanics to a more board-game-like format.
They already announced the first Legion expansion Wave before the game released! Not to mention the 'Wave 0' expansions leading up to it. Well, 'expansion' maybe a bit strong since the core set, while it IS a complete game, doesn't have huge variety. But that's kind of the point of a starter set....
Crabbok They list their previous Star Wars games in this video, and ignore IA. It's not in the pile of games on the table either. They're trying to make out this is their first SW miniature game. I wouldn't hold your breath for more IA, they're disowning it.
John I think there's some recent announcements that maybe you aren't aware of. Check the Worlds 2018 section for IA if you want a preview of what is most likely coming up next. They haven't made it official because of it's similarity to Legion, but it's all but confirmed the next expansion will be revealed EXTREMELY soon. PS - It's gonna make alot of IA fans VERY happy from the looks of the art.
So they broke into the D&D space. Now they're breaking into Warhammer's turf. What next? Proper MTG-clone? If that happened, Wizards and Whoever-it-is-that-owns-Warhammer can kiss a good chunk of business goodbye.
The Library btw its games workshop. Maybe the next game will be like Infinity and you will lead a squad of elite toups against another squad in the depths of corruscant (level 1313)...
Thank you. I know they had a "W" in their name, it was on the tip of my brain, I just couldn't think of 'em. And something I'd like to see, at least for their existing Miniatures games (X-Wing, Armada, Legion) some Clone War Era and maybe some Sequel Trilogy Era stuff. Not even in terms of gameplay, just in terms of design. I know of a group of people that would for _sure_ buy those, even to just have them in their house on display. To me, it'd be really awesome to have a custom Clone unit or a replica 501st/212th/104th to play these games with and have on display when not in use for a match.
The Library Destiny is very very similar to Magic. I explain it as Magic, but 2 turns is now a "round" where you go back and forth throughout. You untap lands and draw after you've both passed your actions for the current round.
I might not be true, but it really feels like IA has been thrown under the bus. My thoughts about FFG are waning a little after the way they have been treating IA campaign players and Armada over the past 6 months. The IA app is good but no replacement for a real campaign, and the delays over Armada w7 were unexplained and laughable. If the future is Legion and Destiny, count me out.
