I personally grew rather emotionally attached to my light-sided Sith Inquisitor. It was a lot of fun to see the surprised reactions of NPCs when they realized my character was not pure evil.
I personally believe that the story mode of the inquisitor, unlike the sith warrior, is quite designed to make more sense on the light side, as a character who is clearly rebellious against the hierarchy of the Sith empire and more so than before from story mode, the inquisitor was a slave, unlike the sith warrior.
@@wolfrancerberus3261 Absolutely not. Light side Sith don't make sense lorewise in the first place. The Sith are only as powerful as their negative emotions - showing compassion or mercy actively makes a dark side force user weaker, whereas hatred, disgust, anger, fear etcetera make them vastly more powerful. Not to mention dwelling on the Dark Side of the Force *at all* literally dulls all your positive emotions and draws out your negative ones, hence Anakin becoming evil when his original purpose in exploring the Dark Side was to save Padme. Sure, you can roleplay your character as a light side inquisitor, but lore-wise you wouldn't even be able to use Force Lightning anymore, it's only an in-game mechanic limiting you to keep using it instead of attaining light side powers. KOTOR did it best, your morality and decisions in the story would change your Light/Dark alignment, but would also restrict the abilities you have access to - no playing a "good" dark side user. But I understand that's near impossible to do in an MMORPG with a class-based system. TL;DR: There's no such thing as a "Light Side Sith", you would simply become a generic force user without access to Force Lightning, Force Drain, etcetera and would have to train in the ways of the Light to become powerful again. Unfortunately the class-based system of this game doesn't allow you to switch factions or change your abilities based on your light/dark alignment - but that's how it's done in an RPG like KOTOR. Light Side Sith and Dark Side Jedi are simply flavor roleplay things that make no sense lorewise.
@@baldas-msul-8847 you forget about the gray Jedi. The force is about balance so literally both the light side and dark side are wrong. You can still channel your emotions as long as you temper them and don’t fall to passion. Like the gray Jedi maybe embrace both light and dark. It does make sense the sith code is about freedom through power it’s not anyones fault that the sith literally do it wrong by enslaving themselves to their emotions. Gray Jedi are able to harness and use both light side and dark side powers
@@Noname-gm5om Gray Jedi no longer exist outside of non-canon comics and such. They used to exist on Tython, called the Je'daii Order and they were the first order of force sensitives in the galaxy. The reason they tried to balance both sides of the Force is because whenever there was an imbalance, there would be horrible, unnatural Force storms all over the planet. Although none of this contradicts what I said. Gray Jedi don't use EITHER light side or dark side powers, that's the whole point. Je'daii who used Force Lightning or Force Heal (as examples) at any point were exiled from Tython into one of its moons to medidate on the opposite side of the Force and balance themselves out. My point is that a "Light Side Sith" doesn't exist. A Light Side Sith would just be a regular Force user without access to any Dark Side powers.
@@baldas-msul-8847 Interesting. Though to summarise the Sith as only being capable of pure hatred and anger and the Jedi as being serene seems quite non-human or caricature like. I know what you’re saying that contradictions seem silly and in the lore you’re really on one-side or the other. But for me it just seems a bit ridiculous. I’ve read some sources that say that the way of the Sith is more about unbridled emotion rather than just hatred (which I assume could include love, or at least selfish forms of love and attachment). But others seem to imply any kind of compassion dwindles dark side powers. I find it a bit of a confusing contradiction because all humans and (most life forms in Star Wars just seem to be humanoids that have human emotions) life forms seem to change between the two. Anakin Skywalker perhaps being the best and most well known example. He had great hatred and rage. He also had love towards padme and emotional loyalty to Obi Wan. Crucially I thought it was his attachments and emotions that made him a powerful force user. Maybe that’s why he was never able to become a true Sith? Because he ‘had good in him’ as Like observed. He was certainly very different to Sideous who was clearly soulless and truly evil.
until you play the story and realise this is just a glorified archaeologist and that Rebels is way more accurate to what an 'inquisitor" would be, but "didney bad" so who cares about the truth....
@@Omnipotentmonkey Inquistor is a lot more then that. While yes, the Rebels/Legend Inquistorial of Emporer Palpatine is a bit more accurate. Come on, this games is way cooler. a dps sorcerer with madness is better... (EDIT) so apparently lightning sorc has started to hit harder then madness so... lightning sorc i guess? And now madness is better again -.-
Many with lords use purple lightsabers such as dearth recanted. mace windu was a Jedi but his purple lightsabers represented he also used the dark side abilities.
+Dion Richardson Mace Windu had a purple lightsaber because Samuel L Jackson wanted to be able to find himself in the second film where everybody was fighting at the end lol
Almost let’s me think of the Grim Reaper, but consuming souls to get more powerful. Always wanted some class or character that can fit perfectly with something like that, that I can role play.
I played a sith inquisitor for the beta and I have to say is that the lightning tree sorcerer has amazing dps so it's more for pve but there is another spec that is more for pvp called madness. It's almost like an affliction warlock. Sith assassins are orgy good at pvp but not at low lvls and assassins make great off tanks. Hopes this helps with your decisions. Oh and sith inquisitors have alot of CC spells.
@MasterMerc13 Sorc only Also the Assassin build used here is Tank heavy to get force pull and madness to get death field. Recent patches moved force pull from the standard Assassin abilities to Tank tree only which kinda sucks seeing how they took away 5 meters from our ranged ability.
@FriarTuck1234 On the Imperial side: BH, SW, and SI have advanced classes that can spec into tanking. BH, SI and IA can spec into healing. On the Republic side: Trooper, JK, and JC can become tanks. Trooper, JC, and Smuggler can spec into healing. All classes can spec into DPS if they prefer that role.
Imperial agent: I don't know! Lord Marr told me to come over and say there was trouble at the outpost! That's all! I didn't expect except some kind of Sith Inquisition! Sith Inquisitor: Nobody expects the Sith Inquisition!!!!
I personally thought there would be more showing of coruption, teaching a sith warrior, discussing Empire business than just powers and dressy uniforms.
+Purrston [RBLX Videos & More!] Dual wielding techniques are open for Jedi Sentinels and Sith Marauders. Sadly. I would love to use a saberstaff for my jedi guardian.
Scarecrow suit for the Assassin but i kinda dig it. I would like to see more of the robes you see in the movies for both Jedi and Sith, hoods up or down, perhaps as an option?
Speaking about story, Warrior is more of a traditional story. You are the big guy hunting Jedi. Inquisitor is all about becoming powerful. I'd say that Inquisitor is more personal but that doesn't mean that the Warrior story is not really affected by yourself. Speaking about Gameplay, the Warrior is more exciting in my opinion. The Inquisitor is ranged which is easier for a lot of people in flashpoints and operations. I can recommend to play both to level 10 and then decide which you like the most.
Minato Arisato in my opinion I would go inquisitor because you are mostly focused on lightning and you can stun enemy's. I've been playing as this class for a while now and I already killed my master. It's really fun playing this class because of how satisfying shooting lightning at people are. Oh, and once you got to choose sorcerer are assasin I chose sorcerer because there powers are powerful. Now if I made any mistakes please tell me and this is all in my opinion. But really both classes are good.
Warrior has a better story than Inquisitor, but if you want to focus more on combat I recommend inquisitor, because both assassin and sorcerer are op. But inquisitor doesn't have the worst story, consular has the worst
I LOVE my Lightning Inquisitor! I set Ashara/Xalek/Khem as my tanks so they take the bulk of the head on action while I support @ the back w/ copious amounts of crippling abilities & electricity! NO ONE SURVIVES! It's the greatest thing ever!
@MrRhythmicDancer1 It's a great game if your a star wars fan, all the stories are like something right out of a movie. The controls are very simple so you would get used to them after a few mins or so. Sadly you do have to pay to play, but the first month is free. If you know anyone who is going to play the game just try it out with them before you buy.
Commentary: this is not some meatbag HK, I am HK 62 a prototype assassin droid designed to look like meatbags. My vocabulator is still in working progress but I believe I do not need to speak with pathetic meatbags when they need to be slaughtered.
@Ruj1n That's not just the sin gear, it's also the sorc gear. Both sets look the same for both SI advanced classes. Sin definitely needs more... assassiny looking gear.
I'm not sure you can, the armor design is identical to the Tionese/Columi/Rakata line, but none of those are purple from what I recall. I've seen that headgear on one of the Dread Masters, but never available for a player.
@lonetraveller80 It actually fits the Inquisitor class pretty well. It's a very arrogant station, wearing more fancy outfits and going for a creepy intimidation factor. They're stylish in many ways. They're the leaders, remember. For contrast, check out the Sith Warrior vid; they wear brutal armors made for charging into enemies, less about looks and more about utility.
Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
Personally I prefer the Assassin, Darkness spec (with enough Madness for Death Field). It means I can tank, cast or attack enemies up close and personal. The Sorcerer can feel great to play, so many abilites to choose from, but it's to static for me. If i'm honest the only power the Sorcerer had which I would play the class for is Force Storm. But the Assassin can get 'Lightning Storm' as an Inquisitor legacy unlock. Of course this is all down to personal tastes etc.
Did ANYONE else notice that a low-level SI simply uses force lightning on a creature that is IMMUNE to the Force to kill it extremely quickly? According to BioWare's own games, it took teams of Jedi to kill Terentataks with just their lightsabers, but this one Inquisitor can use lightning on it...?
@Tripectorus well...there's a debuff called internal bleeding? close enough? besides, blasters and lightsabers would cauterize the wound. i suppose the swords you get early on would cut and cause bleeding, but i get the feeling it would cause more blunt-force trauma.
Stupid question coming up. Can you wear what the the powered up assassin was wearing as a sorceror, or is it class specific? Because Im thinking of being a sorceror, but I like the assassins clothing better. And yes, I am new to mmo's.
The Inquisitor is an awesome class, no question. The powers are cool as hell and the story is, IMHO, one of the best class stories in the game. Also your Evil Master is Hot. However, what the *Frick* is up with the Robes/Armor for Consulars and Inquisitors? For Consulars it looks like the latest female fashions from Naboo, for Inquisitors it looks like they raided David Bowie's closet and added neon. Who designed these outfits?! They need to be replaced. That's just my opinion though.
I went sorcerer because they are rang dps/ heal and khem Val ( first companion) is a melee tank so it makes the game so much easeir especially with the lightning spec
YES, the game would be hell lot cooler if sabers would simply kill if they hit one time, like in the danm MOVIES! It is a sword made of lazer, if it hits you you should die. They should add in evasion and deflection instead of health bars, and those who dont have the force should just stay away from dudes with lightsabers!
@Harter2142 Yes, that's one of the trees. He'll always have lower level heals but won't be a "healer" unless choosing that specific skill tree of the three available to a sorcerer.
At 2:16 he used Force Pull, you can only get that talent in the Darkness tree. He also used Death Field at the end so he's at least got that many point in the Madness tree.
@russelldheilman Technically thats 2 different classes, when you take an advanced class you are no longer considered a "sith inquisitor" you would be a "sith assasin" or a "sith sorcerer" not a "sith inquisitor assasin" thats a mouthfull. :P
@Paladinn6970 If you are really worked up over choosing then you can just get a trail account for both, iv played wow for a few years now and it is one of my favorite games but I am also looking forward to playing SWTOR and plan on playing both. They both had great aspects and is really up to you to decide. Just give the 7/10 days trails a go
