Star Wars: "Anakin vs. Obi-Wan” by John Williams (Score Reduction and Analysis)

Can we talk about how awesome JW's use of the xylophone is? I never hear other composers using it, and other mallet percussion, this much without it sounding cartoon-y, but JW uses them so effectively.

The augmented Darth Vader theme at 2:06 is the same as when Luke gets pushed by the draft in Cloud City when the window breaks

4:20 i love it when they put the Force theme

4:53 you can hear that how Duel of the Fates begins

The "Battle of the Heroes" theme is actually a reduced version of Anakin's theme, with all the notes being much closer together as well. Great analysis video as always!

Those swirling violins harmonised in close, dissonant seconds really leave me gasping for breath. Can I have some more, please?

These videos are awesome! SO hard to find good scores for Revenge of the Sith, and it has some of my favorite music moments in the whole saga. You should do one of the Anakin's Dark Deeds/I'm So Sorry section. Best part of the score!

I guess it's the name of the song and I know that every (or a lot at least) composer use this sort of name for their song, but I was wondering where was the logic (if there is one) behind them ! Thank you so much for this! I wish I'd searched youtube sooner, because I was trying to do my own analysis and getting nowhere fast (my ears aren't what they should be, something I'm working on). Is there any way I could get access to the reduction in non-video form? I would offer to pay but I feel like that might get us in trouble with copyright laws and whatnot, but this is great work and I'd really like to be able to look over it more slowly.
