What would you guys like to see next? I've got all kinds of footage and I'm looking to get more....so if there's something in particular let me know and if you see another community members' comment/idea you like upvote it. What would you want added, changed, or what do you like/dislike about the current state of starfighter combat in SWBF2?
If you're helping to guide development... maybe... having clones spawn into battles with skins specific to that battle or location's lore? like coruscant guard on coruscant 501st on planets which the lore says they were on ect.
Play Daily YES! I want to be able to walk the vulture like in the films. That would be so cool. Also it would be nice to hear the vultures speak (I couldn't tell if they did in this video); from what I recall the vultures are driods themselves. My two things I desperately want to see are 1. SPACE BATTLES, in which you can go into capital ships and get out and destroy them from the inside. Also, controllable turrets on said capital ships. 2) Please either get rid of the zoning or just make the map bigger. They could literally copy and paste buildings to make the maps larger and I wouldn't care, a star fighter shouldn't have to circle back around again and again every second. Otherwise, this game looks great for not even being in alpha. I just hope they listen to all that we asked, and didn't just cherry pick things we said that they agreed with. However, I am VERY glad they at least did listen, to what extent we don't know but they clearly did hear us out.
You need to be able to board capital ships like in the old game, could you imaging that [DROIDS HAVE ENETERED OUR HANGAR] then a bunch of players become marines and fight off the droids while there is a space battle and players are manning the capital ships guns. Space and land combined battles would be cool too.
Carl Von Clauswitz exactly what I was thinking an being able to fly from ground level all the way to space through the Atmosphere..but you got it man this is exactly what I want to make it feel like you are in Star Wars!
taking into account that an N1 can only reach mach 1 in atmosphere, it would be a really long way to space, until your reach subspace, then you can go full power without melting the whole starfighter
Marcos Allendes Yea you'd be going all out RB WT mode if you went by all the vehicles an vessels an tech guides for the "real" stats on Star Wars vehicles . .it might be a bit to much..considering how it's all just thought up an not real..but that would be cool no doubt
+Marcos Allendes, Mach one is over 600 miles an hour and we've only got about 60 miles of atmosphere above us, so you'd enter space in about 10 minutes going mach 1, orbit would take about 5 minutes longer so 15 minutes total at mach 1. Plus the atmosphere thins out the higher you go so you could go faster at higher altitudes. You could probably go from ground to orbit in about 8 minutes just by pointing your fighter straight up and opening the throttle...
true thing there, the engines of the N1 are perfectly capable of reaching mach 1 at 90°, so yeah, in a straigh line it would not take that much to get into space. (I yet considered the thing of the altitude/air drag).
I would love to see destructible strucures (like in Battlefield) in EAs Battlefront II... but just in case of flying: Being able to customize the colors of your starfighter (or droid).
they really just need to make the flying less arcadey. maybe they can add a realistic and arcade mode for the people that want to have more realistic battles and controls.
arcadey is better, I don't like the realistic controls they give me a headache.

This is the reason I don't play Battlefield, Battlefront games. They have zero realism. This game looks fun but I bet it would only give me 1-2 hours after I get bored with it. A slower, realistic version would suit me better.
Feedback: air/space combat: 360 controls (player controlled maneuvers), not a health based system but a component based system (allowing for more complex and strategic air/space combat), not spawning in a spacecraft but at a spaceport and getting into the spacecraft, SPACE BATTLES! (like in battlefront 2 original)
love how they have gone back to the points system i loved and still love of the old games... look forward to possibly getting to own this game when its finished and released
I agree with basically everything you're saying here. Elevator and rudder controls, the ability to fully power down, even if that means falling out of the sky, which brings us to stall mechanics and energy mechanics, and then they just need to give the different spaceships different handling. Basically make it War Thunder but with spaceships. Shield management, different damage states that you needed to repair with an astromech droid or some sort of built-in repair system. That would make me play that mode a lot. They need to make it feel like WW2 dogfighting, because that's what the space combat in Star Wars is based off of, and that's what it's supposed to look and feel like.
Back in Battlefront best kill I ever had was when Darth Vader jumped up in the air as I pulled up from killing 5 guys and I spattered him. It was amazing
would be awesome if the clones that are in the maps would be the ones assigned into different battalions like the 501st, skin customations are fine but it should only focus on the decals and patterns in a clone armour

Guys, yall miss the point, you want the fighters to be abit more skill based. This game is CASUAL gameplay, there is very little skill involved in the game. These are space fighters, not air vehicles, they operate differently. This needs to be STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT. So far, the new fighters look better controlled and similar to how War Thunder's work. Which makes me actually want to play fighters as the first game's are super boring to play as and really random with how they work.
I 100% agree with those changes to Starfighter combat, it would just add so much more depth to it while keeping it accessible to the average player. I think I would also like to see the ability to stall your engine though. In atmosphere this could lead to you falling while being able to glide to an extent, but in space it could cause the starfighter to continue in whatever direction it was originally going. This gives a lot of potential for new maneuvers.
Which opportunities are there for destroying aircraft from the ground? I've seen some footage of Maul sabering down N-1 Starfighters, but are the infantry weapons strong enough to destroy the vehicles flying above them?
I'm always lamenting the state of fighter squadron. I boot up and play a few rounds, but as you say, one can't really get lost in it due largely to the uber-simplicity of the controls. Glad you're there. I do go in, but unfortunately, it's far too easy to dominate just by paying attention to thrust vs weapon power, let alone executing even the most rudimentary areal maneuvers immediately makes a given player rule the sky. I can't throw my squad mates under the bus however, as whether I ever speak to them or not, they're my team & i will happily take the death for a comrade. I'm almost exclusively play that one mode, and wish it was as you describe. Godspeed.
Evasive manuveres would be good, but still making sure skill is involved in flying starfighters, kinda like in the original battlefront 2, the starfighters were really well done. I also think it would be good to have a co-pilot in ships like Arc-170s, Y-wings and tie-bombers etc, to give slower ships a bit more defence and plus it'd be super fun!
I don't know how I feel about rockets that replenish an infinite amount of times. Something I noticed in last years Battlefront was that majority of kills come from rocket shots, which due to limited movement made it hard to evade. I feel like they need to make some changes to it so that it makes the flying feel more in depth and entertaining and can focus more on longer dog fights
Do they still have the quick evasive maneuvers? That always adds in a bit more depth for dodging and makes it so that you don't die constantly to the lock on rockets
Hey baron, was wondering if the big ships in the air can be killed and fight back, I think that would make the dog fighting more inclusive. for instance on this video those big Droid star ships should be shooting at you and you can shoot them and bring them down which cam hurt the enemy team somehow maybe, like reduced star fighters or troop reinforcements. Also maybe have some different types of deaths, you clip a building and your engine Flys off and you crash or breaking up of a star fighter from the hits it has recieved. Maybe have the wreckage from a kill in the air be able to hurt your ship if you hit any of it. also if a fighter goes down close enough to the ground maybe the wrecked shit stays there and battle damage and hurts any near by troops.
I really hope EA listens to your advice for Star Fighters. Aerial combat is almost always underwhelming in a lot of games I've played. It would be awesome if it was more in depth and realistic.
Since you asked for it: I am really pleased with what they did for this Alpha. I would really love to have Hangar starting and landing. I'm just into that. I see why they haven't build it this way, but I'd love to to see it. Maybe in SWBF3? Also I would like the crashes to be more spectacular/realistic. I'm thinking of ship parts dropping to the ground an causing more spectacle on the ground. When dead I would like there to be maybe the last five seconds of the player that killed me, comparably with what the have in Overwatch. I think the JetPack stuff is great I would want more JetpackTroopers. I hope they can do something about that.
Think they should change the N-1's blaster sound. In the movie, Anakin's N-1 made the same sounds as the game in one scene, but in another, it was used for the proton torpedoes while the blasters used At-at blaster sounds.
That might be a little over the top as its a pretty advanced flight model (eg took a lot of time to make and perfect). But I´d definitely like to see it the question is how possible it is.
I have to ask, why would you do that? From a different point of view, you have to look on how a star fighter is build, and, compare it to how a plane is build, and then ask yourself this, why should a star fighter act like a normal plane, when it isn't build like that? Though i do like the idea of a star wars game, somewhere similare to War Thunder, from small star fighters to larger capital ships. That would be cool.
Shinkey16 I just want a world where Star Wars games just screw balance and your computer, and just throw EVERYTHING from the Clone Wars onto a tiny portion of a planet. Where vehicles and droids have dynamic destructibility. Also a world where players don't care about balance, anything can happen. 6 players escape from their Acclamator which just blown up in a LAAT, they begin flying through the wreckage, dodging a squadron of AI controlled Trifighters, which all work together and use Buzz Droid missiles. The LAAT's left thruster and missiles have been deconstructed by a stray Buzz Droid. The players start descending down, seeing the wreckage of their Acclamator, a Venator engaging a Providence class, with all weapons it had in the movies. Then the gunship rips in half as a piece of debris from the space battle above falls. 2 players live, the pilot and co pilot. One is later killed by B2 Rocket Droids. The other survives the crash, and continues on the fight IN FELUCIA. Sadly them too, are slain. By Acklays. THEY'RE IN THE TREES MAAAN...
puenboy1 VERY late. But that is indeed the case, N-1 is simply for Naboo while for the other maps it's either ARC-170s or Z-95s. Considering the footage and pictures I've seen I'm assuming ARC-170s will be for space battles and Z-95 will be for atmospheric battles
I want to see special troops for various levels and factions with their own playstyle.. I.E. For the clones defending Theed, they could maybe get some royal guards, and for droids attacking, maybe get an small octipara tank that spews the clone killing virus gas upon death. While I can't say how each would play and fight but it'd be cool to see variety in troops per level as well as era. So that while each map has its own unique looks and feels, they'll also have their own unique characters as well.
Do you know if they will have a lookaround system? As in look behind and to the sides of the craft both 1'st and 3'rd person? The Battlefield series has that and it'd be great for SWBF2. not only tactically but also because It'd be cool to see the fancy starfighters better from different angles :)
FLying in the Sky when they break into the Palace seem to be a very effectiv way to keep the Droid spawn in check ;J I think that should remain that but also the Droid shall still have the option to get Ships at this state to ;Y
I think for me, as long as I can control the pitch and roll, I'm happy. Yaw would be an interesting feature, though I believe the original BF2 gave you control over all three, albeit more arcade in nature. Playing Battlefield, all I'd like is the control of aileron and pitch and I'll be good. I've never been able to fully utilize yaw so far.
The N1 star fighters laser cannons are supposed to sound like that of an at at chin cannon check out on episode one when anikin blast the droids in the federation control ships hanger.
Do have any space combat? I think that would be cool to feature on the channel. I am also hoping for some better republic vehicles like the AT-TE and the Republic Gunship playable.
Baron this game looks great in its current stage, im hoping they add these few things in the future1. There is for mow omly one thing i would really love to see: The second Battle of Geonosis Phase 1: Clones have to land there Troops and Seperatist have to stop them. So it is an starfighter battle, in which the clones have to protect der Landing ships with Troops and AT-TE. available ships Y-Wing Bombers and LAAT/i for the Clones and Natex Fighters and Vulture Droidfighters for the Seperatist Phase 2: Clones have to secure there landing zone and then destroy the shield generator. Seperatist have to destroy the Clone eqiment and prevent destroying the generator Phase 3: The Weapons Factory In total this would be a really huge Battle
Full control of the ship would be great. That is Yaw, Pitch and Roll; plus more control over the throttle to hopefully stop all of the flying in circles nonsense. Would like to see more and larger maps, I feel the currant ones are a little on the small side. A little more variety in the game mode, not just dog fighting but attacking larger ships or bases; like in the Death Star DLC. Mix it up a little with more objectives other than shooting a transport ship. A much larger selection of ships would be fantastic, especially if you could have some custom textures or markings as well, so you can fly ace colours. Possibly do something with the shield to stop the infinite shield spamming that goes on in game. Thanx.
Hey man, this is the first video I watch so apologize if some things I say were already commented by you. Good to know you also play War Thunder and are asking to the Dev team to implemente some aspects of it. My main concern is about vehicles in general because they have HP instead of weak/key spots to hit. I know some Star Wars flight sims from the past, like X-wing vs Tie Fighter and in those games you could manage the power of your Starship and you could see the damage inside the cockpit. War Thunder has exactly what I mean in tanks and airplanes battles becuse if you hit them in the right spot, its a kill. About ground battles, I'd like the heroes to behave like in the series, like generals, they coordinate and lead. Course Jedi and Sith lead in different ways. It would be nice if Jedi/Sith had personal objectives on the battlefield, like open certain way or sneak thru hidden entrances to disable shield generator. The game would have more Star Wars immersion if people played together instead of each one by him/her self. How to do that? Do you know the game Red Orchestra? In this game you have key positions in the army... a general who can see the battlefield and call airstrikes, and soldiers who can pinpoint locations to be chosen by the general to drop the airstrikes. OK, thats's not much but it's enough to make the team speak to each other and it makes people use microphones. I'd love if they make a difficult Death Star battle where to win you would have to coordinate the attack, like in the movie. Interaction between players should be encouraged.
They need to add more chatter between in game characters. Clone troopers are spirited fighters they are always trying to pump their fellow brothers to fight harder. So it would be more immersive for them to speak to each other during the fight, like " IVE GOT YOUR SIX" "THEY'RE FLANKING US" idk it's just my opinion
I would like a sim mode or hc mode. Damage/health models don't necessary need to change, but I'd love to see 1st person only with ground vehicles, star fighters, and all infantry. If being in first person actually gives you an advantage why not build a mode around it?
The star fighter controls look much better in comparison to the first battlefront. The 'ring around the rosie', like you said before, was a go to move for wankers who didn't actually know how to fly in the first game and that straight up pissed me off. Why? Cause that isn't how you pilot a star fighter. Dog fighting means doing your best to fly out of your enemies range in order to engage them head to head combat. I would do this to players in the first battlefront who would stay stuck on my six until I would get them off, then turn around quickly to engage just long enough to lock on with a burst of laser cannons followed by proton torpedoes. Worked like a charm every time. I love the freedom of flight in this next game but I would love the chance to engage evasive maneuvers through a correct sequence of controls. For example if I'm taking fire from an enemy fighter on my six, a correct sequence of controls would allow me to pull an immelmann, and if I want to, pull out of it early or late into another maneuver.
I'd like to see a separate starfighter gamemode focused on simulation. Only experienced pilots would get full enjoyment out of the gamemode. Think of it like WT Simulation Battles, (fairly) easy to learn - hard to master!
I really think that to became a good starfigther game, battlefront 2 need : Diversity between ship (not only different ability, but also speed, maneuvrability...), map design for it with obstacle... (like big ship), bigger aispace to play in, more option in the control, a way to talk to other pilots...
They should add two separate locations away from the battlefield where you spawn and then climb into your ship and fly into the battle. Maybe one could be like a star destroyer and the other a ground base.
what i am not sure about is that in the previous game, you got 'power ups' which I think were hated a lot and were annoying. In this is it power ups or not? I am really hoping they removed the power ups.
i think there shouldn't be cross era weapons because how weird would it be seeing a Droid with a a280c or a first order blaster. it wouldn't be like star wars
I understand that flying is just a spice for the game but even with all this amazing SW technology I would expect a bit more "weight" and momentum in them.
I've been commenting on so many posts since I heard about this game coming out. I want and I think most of us want to have complete control of our ships. I've made references to Warthunder and Ace Combat, if they could make the flight mechanics like those games I think it would make for some epic space battles. It would also be great if the game mode would support flight sticks.
in my opinion there should be Droid bots just to give it that more of a battlefield feel seeing lots of normal Droid bots among other players running around or taking positions honestly that'll give it a little more detail to the battlefield
tbh i hat the point system i wish it went back to its roots where you could pick up any vehicle in the game just by walking up to it and jumping in back then it was way more fun
baron they need to add more fighter space for the starfighters, also there needs to be more debree on the map, it to open space, it would also be nice to see mgs, aa, and at guns places on the map with cover so it looks like a war zone also need more players or more so because it looked pretty empty from both ur videos, can u also ask them if they will add more classes like the riot shield class and more
Anyone know if rolling, crouching or prone are in the game? I haven't been able to spot any of those action in any of gameplay or trailer footage I've seen, prone is probably not likely - but crouch and rolling, we gotta have that at least, they added it to the reboot after-all, maybe because its pre-alpha and they haven't polished the movement systems yet, I hope thats the case at least because it would suck if they neglected that aspect of the movement/stances, rolling around the battlefield, dodging blaster fire in both SWBF2 and the reboot was fun.
