The new rotaty shots are nice, but I think the blue background is just iconic. It's a trademark at this point, and I feel that should be part of the new shots too
My hot take is that I actually preferred pfp since I never got warped accessories when they were packed in baggies and protective cardboard sleeves, but the plastic tray bent the saber that came with Ezra
Excellent reviews as always. Love your honesty, enthusiasm, criticisms, and attention to details. Thanks! Also, re: that Sabine helmet - wow! I haven’t opened mine yet, so now I have something to look out for. It would appear the 2nd one you got is a running change to fix that, and you got a better face paint to boot. Appreciate the heads up on that once I get around to my openings and shelf placements. Cheers! 🍻
me jealous what there are dong with new Black series using a new hip joint that doesn't have stupid thigh swivel. and it make leg look natural and me hope to see its on Imperial Armored Commando and Rebel Fleet Trooper there is lots of Trooper don't have thigh armour why not do them on this and new hip joint that doesn't have thigh swivel, it is much better to work with. It there is lots of Trooper I'm not concerned what it looks like on the thigh armor. I find it gets in the way of the articulation. but hasbro can't do nothing right its peg warms jedi figure and boring figures. ME hope ON Imperial Armored Commando TROOPRES only good one were krrsantan and CAD BANE
I wonder if a thin point black sharpie would do the trick. I may try it myself once I get around to opening the one I got. Or maybe I’ll wait until this guy’s price gets lowered to grab a 2nd one to fiddle with in case I mess it up. Huyang too. He needs a serious face wash…😏…ha!
Your first sabines helmet kinda looks like the rebels Sabines helmet painted like the shows design, don’t have either figure so I wouldn’t be able to cross examine myself though
Picked up my Marrok last week, lot's of nice little surprises with him. Love the ball joints on the hands. But still hate the thigh wiggle. And I know you weren't saying that a Force user needs to see to fight with a blast shield over their face 🤨 I am going to need to trackk down Huyang for a showdown with Marrok 😆 And it's not just the green of the skin that draws the eye to Hera's face; that's a damn fine Mary Elizabeth Winstead likeness
@TheFwoosh I had assumed he was an Inquisitor reanimated through Night Sister magic. I think the same green mist was used on Clone Wars to reanimate Night Sisters
The absolute irony in Robo saying "its your own fault for not readin em" a bit after saying the characters have individual bios on the box when they in-fact do not have individual bios but just the same copy pasted blurb about the Ahsoka show.
Is the Sabine figure a collector’s item? The definitively fixed the helmet… the original one is wider and shorter, which is why it show the chin and keep on. The Hera figure, you definitely have to rotate the head to see the likeness at certain angle. And I do agree a blush and redder lips would improve the figure.
Hera took me a while to come around on. She felt like cosplayer initially. I haven’t got Hera or Huyang yet. I’m sure I will in time. I did get Marrok. Yes I was bummed out it was a Scooby Doo green ghost in armor instead of reanimated by Night Sister magic Barriss Offee. I like the call backs I call them poetic moments. The figure struck me more interesting than Hera and Huyang. It was I can buy two of these five I see. Who do I bring home? Marrok and Pre Visla won out. Sure nits to pic. I really like both.
I'm not gonna get around to this show for a while (it's a sequel to two shows, one of which is a sequel itself, I have things to do, okay?!) but I'm loving Marrok's look. I might just get him to have a slightly futuristic knight.
Now we need a Marrok that howls and shoots out green farts when you squeeze him. Get on it (add a toy company name here)! Pronouncing Marrok differently every time throughout the video was hilarious, Robo.
I hope Hasbro will also release an action figure made to look like how Hera Syndulla had appeared in the space combat video game "Star Wars: Squadrons".
I'd take a Gundam marker to Marrok's visor slits and that'd be enough, I think. Some of that armor could probably use a dark wash to pull out the details too, but not really necessary. Definitely hear you on the variety of figs here vs. Andor or Obi-Wan... lots of human characters with great drama but not ideal for fun toys!
I got Marrok. Not so much as the character as he is supposed to be, but more as a general knightly figure (come on, with that helmet). Maybe even within the Star Wars universe. Guess I will change his paintjob a little, maybe try to attach his knee armour properly (to me it looks a bit sad hanging down like that). And then...put him on a horse. Or a Guarlara (I have a nice, 3d-printable jointed horse which can be easily modded). The cape may look better if you make it even tighter at the neck, but then it needs some kind of closure to be able to still have him with or without it. If his armour is made by Tesla though...he is really screwed. No wonder Marrok was cut so easily.
I really want the Huyang, mostly for David Tennant…even tho he only voices the character. If anything, he could be a decent stand in/update for Kameleon. Marrok, I’ll probably have to see in person, so thank Yoda we have windows again! He does look like he wandered in from another set, but there are hints of standardized Storm Trooper armor in there. Hera, I’m not really seeing MEW, but I already have the Rebels one around…somewhere….
Andor was probably my favourite piece of Star Wars media since ESB. But I didn't for a moment consider getting any of the figures from it. You're spot on, Robo, they're just not.... action figure-y characters. The only tempting one was Cassian's disguise to do some customising with, as I do like the Imperial Army look. So I'd say you've more than justified why you didn't pick them up either, it's a totally fair stance! Meanwhile, I didn't get on with Ahsoka as a show at all, but it's hard to argue that Hera looks like a really cool figure. The bomber jacket and rebel flightsuit pants look just really works. Plus, y'know, Twi'leks. I know you're probably buried in Lukes and Vaders at this point, but did the RotJ 40th versions not grab your attention? The new RotJ Luke quickly became probably one of my favourite figures in the line, and the new Vader is about as close to definitive as I think we're likely to get outside of the Japanese imports. I'm also a little bit sad we haven't seen your take on Darth Malak. It's always fun watching you pick apart a Sith figure with no context for the character.
I actually have the ROTJ Luke but haven't had a chance to open it yet. Maybe because I haven't got the Vader yet? But I want to. I really want to. Malak is a wait for cheaper price type deal. Or see in person. I've cut back on a lot of pre-orders and even online buying, leaving it to fate.
Are we gonna get the no way home reviews this week or is that months I’m the future all of these new ahsoka figs look great especially professor huyang
Oh no, not a possible running change on Sabine that fixes the only issue I had with the figure. Any other major differences we can use to tell the two apart?
Not that I can tell. And I'm not sure if it's a running change, more like a different batch? When I showed my issues in the original review I had a lot of people say their copy wasn't like that. Sure enough, big difference in the helmets.
Yeah, that's straight out of a Hasbro package. When I had so much trouble with my first one in the initial review I had a lot of people tell me theirs wasn't like that so when I saw a second I grabbed it. Night and day.
He doesn't need slits and probably doesn't use them as his view would be only marginally better than not seeing at all...the force will help but I think it's an absolute certainty that his helmet has augmented vision via some kind of heads-up display. Sometimes we forget that star wars is SCI-fi.
Hera really should have been more of a main character in the show. She's kinda got the most beef with Thrawn and as a General is a natural counterpart to him. Hopefully that's something they'll explore as the storyline continues.
hi I don't like "thigh swivel", on my figures can Ali Express, do that with the order ??? I need some to help me with it. this idea there hopefully there other collector on here don't like it . the "thigh swivel" i no one on youtube there is 1 or 2 on youtube
Ahsoka was a big miss to me. I liked Baylan and Shin but that's it. I have the Rebels Hera so I don't need this. Don't need more droids, and once we saw Marrok was green fart, the figure became an easy pass.
I don’t like the hilt that Marrok has. It should be a full circle. I know why they did it like that but I disagree with it. I don’t like how they do lightsabers anyway but this is particularly annoying.
with the recent landfill pics online of Finn/rose/reva black series figures at the dump, it isn't hard to see why habro is cutting corners to bleed us all dry before the toy line folds!!
I understand why collectors wanted windows..especially those who don't open their figures...but it is sad that when a major company tries to do something good WITHOUT being legally forced into it that their customers lose their minds and trash said company at every opportunity. I prefer the windows but it IS sad to be so forcefully reminded of our selfish short sighted disregard for this world and everything in it as well as what our children will be given after we're gone. But the windows ARE way nicer.
ok. let me help you out. His name is pronounced Muh Rock. Just say The Rock and replace it with Muh. Marrok. That's how they said his name in the show.
Sorry that Marrok paint job is bad. The rust looks like a shaky handed fellow tried to paint orange in a straight like. The helmet for sure needed some black in the front. Huyang straight looks like they forgot to paint the body That Herra tho
Okay so like. I love me some hasbro. Gets some great things. But yoooooo No thigh cut, single bend knees and elbows? That's straight up trash for figures tooled THIS year. Especially s8nce the black series runs so damn expensive. It's just. Frustrating to me. Like the super7 figures, ya know? I get that the accessories and details get people But like paying that much for a figure who's articulation is still stuck in the early 2000s just. Frustrates me
