I f****ng love your videos, man. They're so fun, entertaining and nice. You're an awesome reviewer too, your enthusiasm just shines through. The camera work is excellent, the setup is simple yet effective, it's just all great, man. Every time a new Fwoosh review comes up, I'm genuinely happy. That's a gift right there, being able to make people happy. So, good work, and thank you❤
The mando Ahsoka is my favorite black series figure in the line. Even with her minor articulation shortcomings she just comes to life in any pose. I haven’t found many poses She doesn’t look great in. Can’t wait to get more figures from her show
And I even pointed out the stripe, knowing it was a very Rebel thing to do, even though I had just called them very Imperial feeling. That may have been what threw me off.
I think it's worth noting that the kneepads on the Death Watch trooper are separate and floating pieces and not glued to the thigh like they have been lately like say with clonetroopers or the Deluxe Boba Fett. Definitely makes it look much better in poses when the knee is bent and the pad is no longer off to the side if you rotate the thigh.
@@TheFwoosh It was a surprise to me when I first got mine. I thought it was a fluke but my second one also had them floating so definitely is a design decision!
@@Alleycatblues I was going to say the same thing about the kneepads. I was pretty stoked to see this change. I hope to see it going forward on Clones and such
For the DW mando’s rifle, I found it’s best to not hook the thumb through the hole in the stock, but have it go over it (behind the bit that looks like a revolver’s hammer), and he holds it better. Also nice to see how the jet pack turned out on yours (mine came super warped, makes me hopeful for the second one I have coming in).
I can't get the hand to grip like that, it just pops right out. And one of the boosters on my jetpack was off kilter out of the package, seems to shape up as I mess with it.
Great timing with this, I had the Deathwatch Mandalorian pre-ordered on Amazon UK for May 3rd, only to realize today that it was for 2023 and didn't release yet. I'm not skilled enough to fully repaint a figure, but I'd love to repaint the armor in a similar look to Llats Ward, I always liked that 3.75 figure when I was younger. Still, it was nice that this wave and the previous wave dropped here in the UK at the same time, I found Fennec, Bib and the Client in person then got Ahsoka and Tython Boba on Pulse. Ahsoka may have the best face in the entire line, I really like that figure but mine's got one of the blue markings misaligned up top which is a tad distracting.
When I got into edits I noticed that one of the silver spots on Ahsoka's head was painted off a bit, but it's not too distracting. Especially since I didn't notice it until it was super zoomed, heh.
@@TheFwoosh I actually just got a pair of the Death Watch Mando's this morning, with the rifle I've found the figure holds it better if you put the thumb over the stock rather than trying to feed it through the gap underneath. Don't know if that's the correct way for it to be held, but at least he's holding the gun straight.
The Client is definitely a very special action figure - who would have thought that there would be German director Werner Herzog as a Star Wars character? Now we need Klaus Kinski... :)
The Omega, it seems like the head is a little big for the body. Like they created a whole kid-sized figure but stuck an adult-size head on it. Maybe that's just a perspective thing somehow, but that's what it looks like from here.
Ok, the Ahsoka is a perfect 10, but dang that Mandalorian is perfect bad assery (is that one of your words Robo?…😬). Like you I’m gonna need a whole fleet of those. Nice reviews again!
@@patobrien1726 Thanks I only had the mandalorian but I wasn’t into Star Wars then but now I’m becoming a black series collector and sorry you had to sell you figures
Wow another awesome fantastic video of star wars figures collection are amazing .when you display you 6 inch black series star wars figures. Have you got any spaceship collection 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍you got some awesome star wars figures there
Oh man, I just knew it... I knew your video would make me regret passing on the Ahsoka figure.. they're just so dang expensive! But I love the Death Watch Mando... I love the colors and how easy it is to move around and pose. I was so glad when Amazon moved up the shipping on it, got here way sooner than I thought and I used gift card money so basically a free figure for me! Happy May the 4th tomorrow Robo!
I swear, I think toy companies are missing an opportunity to releasing action figures of film directors. Seriously, why not? I mean, we've got at least one George Lucas, one Alfred Hitchcock (that I know of), now we have one Werner Herzog. Seriously, I want a John Carpenter to sit on my shelf.
Mine should be here tomorrow. DHL says Thursday, but we all know they are just trying to hide their teleportation tech. Think I may dive in Monday. Maybe. There's also a box of Legends here that are calling my name.
Some custom making and I can have a diorama of Herzog directing Kinsky as Nosferatu. Heck, I can have Herzog listening to the Grizzly Man tape! Way to go, Hasbro!
The Death Watch Mando is the one I want the most. I want to repaint the armor and do some sculpted pieces to turn him I to a new original Mandalorian. Black with green accents and bone trophy pieces (two horns, a skull pauldron, and bone wrist blades)
That Ahsoka was a real must buy. I don't even collect that many Black Series. I just have most of my favorite Jedi/Sith in SHF or BS. Ahsoka is really worth more than what I paid. Such sculpt and paint detail are usually seen on japanese imported figs. Way more expensive. Hasbro has come a loooong way.
Totally agree. They still make the oddball decisions that are easy to focus on but it's also easy to forget the early figures, with the 80s GIJoe eyes and wonky articulation.
@@TheFwoosh Absolutely. Give credit when it's due. I still had nightmares about that first series Bespin Luke. Cried a little when I saw the last Ahsoka at my shop.
Solid review. Cool wave. The only one I would not want in my collection is The Client. Old men in funny clothes just don't add to the aesthetics of the shelf.
Hey Robo like Dave-O Cunningham said in the comments I think the Client's legs are re-use from General Lando Calrissian. Only the belt looks different.
Okay, so I got to point out you have the Mandalorian figure holding the blaster wrong. You want the thumb at the top while the fingers hold on to the handle and trigger. Think of it like a combination between Boba's blaster and Mando's long rifle. The promo images also show how it holds the gun.
Naw, he holds it even worse like that. The promo pics may show it that way but there's no way the hand is actually gripping it tightly. Plus that handle is obviously a grip and every Boba Fett figure ever holds his blaster the same way I did here, with the thumb through the hole.
@@TheFwoosh On mine, it fits perfectly. He holds it and it doesn't feel loose. Thumb is above, but the grip is still there. The Thumb isn't through the hole. When I said the combination, I meant it like Mando, where the Thumb is going to be at the top for his rifle. I did it just like the promo images and the figure holds it just fine for me.
Cool figure review, Ahsoka and Deathwatch Mandalorian are definitely on my want list, Been watching your reviews for a couple of years now, I gotta ask, Where did you get a Darth Vader Slayer shirt ? That's insane, strange and cool, as Vader would probably like Death Metal LOL
Really solid wave. Though, It is too bad Hasbro has abandoned highlight paint on these figures for black series. Especially considering they make sure to do so for TVC...base paint looks so cheap and plain
Here's a suggestion for Hasbro to cut down on their plastic packaging: stop the double plastic trays with Black Series. If they went back to the window being a sheet attached to the box, the plastic they save there could go to Legends 🤔 Also, maybe stop the whole "standard figure in deluxe packaging" while they're at it. You know, cut down on that waste too
For the Death Watch rifle, I gave it a small slice separating the grip from the extended stock part so that his hand could fit better. Just bugged me too much and limited posing.
@@TheFwoosh no, not the whole stock. Just a small slice where the bottom part of the stock meets the bottom of the grip. Essentially where his palm rests. It’s just separates the 2 parts and his hand rests easier on the grip. The pressure of his hands is enough to move it out of the way and you get a little more natural grip. And you can’t even see it.
5:13 I was very gentle with mine and it broke the very first time. Be careful, people! I would suggest gently opening one with something like a knife, then poking the other two open from the inside with like a pencil or something that will fit in there.
Hey Robo great video man I don't collect the Black Series but I have gotten the Princess Leia and the Obi-Wan from the 50th Anniversary thing or something also have the Echo and some other girl she comes with a really long gun and two pistols
Has Black Series done Jaster Mereel? I’d love to have a line of the old Jango comic of Jaster, Jango before the silver paint job, Vizla, Montross, and a Mandolorian civil war figrue in the armor used by Vizla’s faction.
@@TheFwoosh That too! Man I hope with the new tooling for the Deathwatch Mando, we could get a 2.0 Jango unless they have done that already. The other figures I’m surprised we haven’t had are the Imperial Super Commandos from Rebels with Gar Saxon, and the Imperial Storm Commandos.
