Call me crazy, but the better old Leia has a nice Carrie Fisher charm to it despite being hand painted. Definitely not as realistic but I still like it!
I don't understand why Hasbro offer new clone bodies and never use them for the next figure that follow, Rex Bad Batch, Clone 501th, Jump Trooper etc...
I don't know why they don't just release a new EP 3 Obi-Wan. They could just use the head of the Clone Wars Obi-Wan and the body of the already known Padawan Obi-Wan, add a robe and some details fitting to the movie and the collectors would be all over this figure. Maybe when Revenge of the Sith hits the 20th anniversary in 2025 at the very least.
If you want to avoid ripping those cards apart then you can use benzine (I think that's the name in English), which is able to rehydrate glue even after it's dry, allowing you to peel the plastic shells (or price tags) without damaging the card or leaving glue residues.
I just binned about 30 boxes and packaging after realising there's little to no value in most of them, and ehhy take up SO MUCH space. Felt GREAT. Throw that rubbish away.
When I put a matte finish I cover the eyes and lips with liquid masking tape. The shiny eyes and lips look good against the matte skins. IMO. Mostly do lips on the female figures to simulate lip stick/gloss. Alternatively I guess you could brush clear gloss back over the eyes and lips...you get the idea.
Had to pass on Obi-Wan. It's just one of those that needs to be completely redone. Picked up 501st and Leia though, Leia is a proper upgrade! Thanks for the review. -Justin
I agree: both the Bespin Escape and Hoth Leia sculpts are the best. Such a shame that the Leia figures that were released afterwards have headsculpts of a lower quality than the Empire Strikes Back Leias.
I'm glad the Black Series doesn't have BAFs and that I'm not a completionist. I can sit happy with my The Clone Wars Lucasarts anniversary Obi-Wan and not worry about pinhead here :) I definitely needs me some 501st and Revan though! And maybe Leia too!
I *STILL* have yet to see these Archive figures here in my part of California. Darth Revan remains on my wish list after missing out on his original figure and the Jedi Knight repaint.
Photo real fails on both Leia & Obi-Wan by Hasbro as not close to a decent face resemblance to the actress/actor on either imo. Very easy passes on both (for me anyway). Thanks for the review.
To get the most out of the Mr. Clear MATT. Make sure you shake the can for a full minute before use. Then spray it about 10 inches away and put on 3 or 4 light coats. I use it all the time and it’s expensive but fantastic. It’s just not a spray that’s for everyday hobby painters. You really need to know what your doing with it to get the most out of it. If not and you just spray it like you would testers flat clear or Tamiya flat clear. You will get a Shane to it. Also the first coat of the most important
I got luckey and found revan for 20 2 years ago in a comic shop out of this guys garage. Messed with it a little will get this one to have one to mess with plus the thicker lightsabers are nice
I do not get why they didn't just swap RotS Obi-Wan's head out. Like, everyone wants RotS Obi-Wan in their collection but not with that head? It's so bad. RotS Anakin's heads actually look good cause both of them look like Hayden Christensen, this looks like... well, not Ewan McGregor, I can tell you that. Insane.
Retail has become such a crapshoot. I mostly find stuff because my Walmart is 5 minutes and we're usually in there to find something else. Most of the time I pre-order online and skip hitting any other stores.
I’m almost certain that your Darth Revan has better elbow articulation than you showed off - if I’m correct I believe the joint was on backwards. If you rotate it around properly, you should be able to get 90 degrees easily. Also, Archive Anakin DID have the soft goods tunic; it was the AOTC Anakin that was missing the soft goods. :)
Ooops, yeah, turned around it does get a few more degrees, but still doesn't reach 90. And yup, I guess it was that AOTC Anakin. I knew it was one of them.

12:54 Stealth Suit Armour Iron Man behind the arms and beneath the lamp. Looks like his recon must continue from that location but Uatu has dropped down in the top left corner for abit of a gander at the new figures too. Well he is The Watcher after all.
I rally wish we got a 501st trooper without dirt and just clear armour, the dirt really put me of buying 9 or 10, like i would usually do with army building figures
Waiting for my pre order to show up for these, I got all but Darth Revan. Disappointed with the Obi Wan head, I'll keep it for now and see what we get with Kenobi and maybe make some changes then.
Leia v2 over this v3. Obi-Wan looks like 35-40yo Luke more than Obi-Ewan. Hair is too light for Ewan, and I can see Hamill post-Jedi (and post-Mando?) setting up his NJA. Both faces look faded with that digital paint. Other two I have no desire to bother with.
You really should watch a video or two on Darth Revan especially if you’re not feeling like you have the time to read up on all that lore, it’s fantastic stuff.

Nice. I'll only have the 501st Clone and Obi-wan here in a few days so. On the old one though, how did you get the casting cave head to fit, like what was that blue stuff on the ball joint? I need to do that to my old one as well :P Mine now has a chip on the left cheek though and not really sure how ti fix that x.x
The only ones I want from this wave are Darth Revan (Cool looking Expanded Universe Sith? Yes, please) and the 501st Clone Trooper (I'm a sucker for army builders)

If you're not going to play KOTOR, which I still would advise, it's cheap, and it's a great game, at least treat yourself to the Revan wiki page and find out why people love him like we do (if you haven't already) dude is the Ric Flair of Star Wars.
We might as well call him Revan Flair afterwards. Great to find others who played Knights of the Old Republic. I played that game again back in late 2020. Had to take my mind off of the pandemic somehow.
Hasbro simply cannot properly make Leia's face... The older version was better. And Obi-Wan's paint to the old headsculpt is worse than the one with the Target Clone Wars figure. The paint in the 2014 one has less detail to the face, but at least they got the hair color right. He's too blonde here...
I noticed something with the differences between Figuarts and black series when it comes to their double joints For their sentai and rider figures Figuarts doesn’t really care if you can see the double joints as long as the limbs aren’t hindered. Black series however acts like it’s a taboo thing and this is translated into Hasbro’s lightning collection where posing figures becomes awkward
From what I've been told, Disney and/or Lucasfilm is kinda picky when it comes to visible articulation. That's why we only see double elbows in Black Series when they are covered by cloth. May be a factor in Bandai designs too.
‘Not a true fan’ because you don’t know who Darth Revan is. Knowing who he is doesn’t make you a true fan, it just makes you someone who’s willing to spend more money on Star Wars than someone else.
I'm still using the SHF for my main display because of the overall look, but I think I like the new Hasbro head better. May try a swap. But if you're looking for an either or answer.....SHF.
I reckon Hasbro are digital printing all these things now. The downside is digital printing can be off centre and look horrendous. Not so bad with a Clone helmet, but awful for human faces. I have a Mattel WWE Liv Morgan who looks like a drunk aunt (actually, Mattel are the worst with their digital printing, one of my Ultimate Rock's lips are misaligned so looks like a bad lipstick job by a 10 year old).
So after 4 years you didn't learn many things about revan well He's from the old republic era of star wars' and his mask is mandalorian in origin that's why his mask looked like the Boba Fett helmet
obi's hair. why is it that colour. it should be dark orange, that weird gold puke colour, i dont understand why they didnt change that up. also, the robes on that obi figure in each version is totally off and plasticy. it has such a sheen and a yellowy-green tint. it should have a far more orange and matte look imo.
