Installations positioned in order is much more satisfying… but who knows, maybe the Forunners assigned their designated locations AFTER their creation?
Pretty much. They were engineered to cover all possible angles to make sure all celestial boddies could get hit from every angle for maximum effectiveness
12:03 if i remember correctly, in the book halo silentium they do actually fire the omega halo(one of the original set of 12 halos) at path kethona. so not necessarily an oversight.
just an FYI slipspace dive Only Affects the nature on slipspace entrance, and accuracy, your FTL speed is determined by the engine speed of the ship in realspace... the covenant used forerunner designed slipspace drives which makes multiple micro jumps in slipspace and with the forerunner engins geting them a FTL speed of 2000 light years per day
12:04 I think they did that because they knew (or at least assumed) that more Flood existed elsewhere in the universe and kept them around for study so as to give future generations better knowledge of them in the event that said Flood arrived in out galaxy.
Fun fact: Epsilon Eridani is also where, in Star Trek, a battle took place during the siege of Vulcan, where under Admiral Salok, the 12th fleet, fought to hold the system, along side the 1st fleet under admiral Nacheyev holding the neighbouring system of Weytahn to prevent the encirclement of Andoria, a founding member of the Federation. (This isn't alpha canon btw.) That planet can't seem to get a break, no matter which universe, huh?
Yeah Reach is good but it would have been better if they'd follow the books a bit more. That whole insurrection plot at the beginning annoys me when you think about the military powerhouse that Reach is.
@@thealmightysnark5878Bungie never really gave a shit about expanded content and in my opinion I agree with them. Too many chefs in the kitchen which proved correct with pretty much everything between the games and books never lining up. Books and other content were mostly handled by Microsoft and 343 before they took over the Halo IP.
Awesome. Unfortunately, I am yet to find a sci-fi franchise that doesn't veer into complete implausibility when you realise where it places its colonies. In this day and age, when there are software tools like "Space Engine", where you can actually plot the positions and distances of real stars, one would think the authors would at least try to check if it makes sense, but nah, they're too busy or something.
I think it would be cool if you put this up on a site with links to the wiki if you wanted to no life some more , there is a Warhammer map like that and its super helpful
16:22 Okay, let me help you with that :) ['tʃodɒsɒrvɒʃ] Bunch of space Hungarians naming moons after birds and stags and ladies :D Even though I only know very little about this game (and many other stories you made videos about), I like watching these videos a lot!
Yeah, all the worst 343 employees are at the helm of hALo sTOoDiOos, and Microsoft are still contracting (no consistent team) because it saves a disgusting amount of money during taxes.
