Super stocked they made Kir Kanos. Even though he isn't 100% accurate, Crimson Empire is my favorite Star Wars comic and super happy to see it get a little love.
Robo, the Maul is the better figure regardless of the packaging bio error. The old integrated with new was done well. That updated face sculpt captures the blood is in the air attack that Maul is known for in all his combat scenes. May the fourth be with you!
Need these two! They really should just make a Carnor Jax figure in Kir Kanos packaging so we can swap the figures in the box, easily solves the issue.
Alexis Sandoval good point, I somehow didn’t think of that, the wrong name was the only thing standing out to me. Hopefully they correct it on future shipments but I doubt it.
That’s exactly what they did. The arms are cast in red plastic with the black painted on. The chest/head are cast in black plastic with red painted on top of that and that’s why the red looks so dark. It’s a major screwup

I used farmboy Luke for my S7 Maul custom. I painted most of the torso, then Hasbro announced this one 😂 Still debating if I wanna get this Maul, tear him apart, and see if I can make a better custom. We'll see. His face looks a bit angrier than S7 though. So maybe, maybe not.

Still waiting on a Clone Wars final season Maul, that will become my most anticipated Black Series figure whenever they do that (and there's no way they made Ashoka and don't plan on doing Maul). Whilst I'd prefer a new head sculpt for that figure I wouldn't mind them reusing this new one, but the one thing I do know is that when they do make that figure we'll finally get a Black Series Maul with new legs. I love that original figure and this new one looks cool, but the legs are outdated.
They know that by delaying Maul they're keeping people hooked in and more likely to buy more figures. It's just standard marketing techniques, they will 100% be making Maul in his various TCW forms, it just takes time.

I'm surprised they didn't go like the "vintage" Kir Kanos figure with the removable mask. Anyhoot I want an actual Carnor Jax figure now. Maybe use the Crimson Guard cloth cape but just make it black since that's the way Jax wore it through most of the series.
Kir Kanos does NOT have a removeable helmet? ?!?!?? What's the point? So wishing I had seen this review before purchase: it's 2021, but this is inferior in every way to the 2004 (stamped) 3.75" Kanos. 17 years of amazing progress right here. Maul looks okay. Good review as always, Robo.
I'm not moist about that disco purple on the inside of the cape. Maybe a 3rd party makes a cape that's just red? Let me know if you see anything like that!

Everytime I go on the hunt for figures i walk by them and I find myself looking at the box cover. Lego does a really good job on the picture covers. It feels like every picture tells a story and your mind begins to wonder... "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...."
