God, I spent hours playing this game... never mind the hours I spent just idly hanging around on various levels when all the bad guys were dead, listening to the atmospheric music and ambient sound effects... Like the wind. Wonderful stuff.

The emotion when we get the Lighsaber and use it at first time in our life, this unique sensation, is unforgetable... One of the best game of my Life!!! Forever!!!

This is classic 90's gaming right here! Spent many hours as a teenager on this. How LucasArts managed to fit such massive levels into a single load is beyond me. If memory serves correctly, this was one of the first games to require Direct3D, meaning I had to fork out my hard-earned pocket money to upgrade my PC for it to run smoothly. Cheap? No. Worth it? HELL YES!

I was 5 when my father brought this game home. It was one of a few games dubbed in my native language, so we could really understand the plot before even learning english. One day, I accidentally smashed the second CD of the game, and my father, who back then used to play it everyday, was unable to do so anymore. Years have passed and I eventually found it on Steam, and bought it and installed it on my fathers notebook. He passed away in November last year, and I am glad I was able to have him playing it once again.

Can we get at least a reboot? Kyle Katarn has earned his place in the new canon.

Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2, Rogue Squadron, Episode 1 Racer, Super Star Wars Trilogy, Rebel Assault 2, and of course Jedi Knight 1 and 2. So many good SW games from early 90s to early 2000s...

The graphics to this game aren't even bad, I dare say, they are adorable. Even by todays standards, everything in this game looks like fun and manages to do so much with very little. Forget a remaster, THIS is a game that should be ported to N64 on an EverDrive64 cart just like Portal was.

The sounds in this game will be burnt permanently in my memory for as long as I live. All the sounds of the doors and lifts and power ups and shit are so good even today.

The way you have to progress thru this map is no wonder why when I was a kid couldn't beat this game. Even now I watch and I'm like "how in God's name would you know to go THAT way??"

I always have found the ambiences in these spaceport levels to be really relaxing. If you don't shoot and just walk around for a minute and listen, it's pretty peaceful. Great soundtrack too.

Holy cow! I'm now almost 40 years old, and remember playing this as a kid. I spent countless hours beating this game in both light side and dark side. When they started bringing out Jedi outcast and Jedi knights academy, I followed suit. Now my child is playing Jedi outcast and Jedi knights academy. I can't wait to get him on this game as well.

I love the over acting of the villain in this games opening sequence. And i played this game day and night as a child of 10-12 years old. I love it.

Wow! What a gem. I tucked away the memories of the countless hours I put into this game. My folks loved going to yard sales and I was fortunate enough to buy this from a tech guy who had this game and many more. Boy did I hit the jackpot apparently! I remember how deep into Star Wars I was(still am). Having so many questions after my best friend showed me episodes 4/5/6, and then to see the cutscenes this game had at such a early age just bloomed a wanting of MORE, MORE ,MORE! That was 98/99 I was only 8/9 and now at 30 I sit and watch the mandalorian with such intensity because I finally feel that same intensity of what’s next?! It’s unfortunate Disney obliterated episodes 7/8/9 instead of letting us REAL Star Wars fans enjoy what we should’ve got instead of marketing to little kids and making a really Disney-like trilogy that just doesn’t go with what we all grew up with. Sorry for the rant! I had been searching for ever for the name of this game and I’m just so grateful to finally find it and know that I actually wasn’t as bad as I thought considering I made it thru half of it with no cheats or any advice from an older head or gamer, even though the frustration of getting stuck in the middle of the game drove me to call it quits. But now, now I might give it another go!

20:28 has my favorite secret of the whole game. When you walk out into that big open space where all the gran are chucking grenades, look up. Waaaaay up there is a cache of grenades just spinning up there, stuck in the side of the map. No way to reach it but cheating. For years as a kid I thought I just couldn't figure out how to get to it. Oh nostalgia.

My first experience with this game was the demo disc I got from from some magazine, which was the entire Fuel Station level. I played just that level countless times until I finally bought the game. It's still one of my favorite maps of all time.

And no internet to help look up secrets or anything, all I had was the "Tips & Tricks" PC games magazines to assist me. Fuck going back in time to stop big historical events like Hitler & World War II, I'd go back to my teen years and re-enjoy these games in their prime.

I was playing this game at five-years-old on my mother's lap, some of my best memories

I bought this game soon after its release back in 1997. I *finally* got around to playing through it (and Mysteries of the Sith) this month. The graphical enhancement mods make the game look very different. I had forgotten how rough this game looked back in 1997 until watching this unmodded playthrough.

I played and beat this game when it was fresh and new on my old family PC. I even somehow gained a "force field" ability at a certain point, which helped me gain an edge in my battles against Imperial Remanents, the common enemies, and the Dark Jedi.

I remember how they made you feel guilt at the end of you chose the dark side of the force. One of my favorites from the golden era of PC gaming. I don't even play FPS games because this is far better than any of them.

Quake 1 and JK were the very first online multiplayer games in world history. In Quake, Thresh became the worlds first professional gamer. We did not have Discord, Twitch, or even headsets to communicate. KRT vs EA in 1997 tournaments was the equivalent of SKT vs TSM in a LoL final. But unlike 2020, spectating did not exist and legendary matches could only be replayed in your head. JCS vs IRN in CWT finals. The amount of history there. Now with e-sports there are documentaries about the history of each team. We did not have that luxury. Many of the top players in these games were also top players in other games and winning tournaments. Had prize money or public awareness existed, those same players would have been earnings millions. TF dominating CTF CWT tournaments. Those communities back then were the foundation of online gaming around the world. During CTF matches we had to in-game team text short-hand codes to quickly make decisions and let others know where opponents were. Aside from actually playing the game, the community is what makes any of these games (even today) special. One of the first games I played on PC. I bought this game pack that came with this, Dark Forces, Mysteries of the Sith, X-Wing/Tie Fighter, and Yoda Stories... yes Yoda Stories, bet barely anyone remembers or has even heard of that one.

Thanks for this, though I have access to the game, it's a little janky for me on my machine (frequent crashes) and the death setting me back to near the beginning of a level is very irritating, especially when dark forces 1 seemed to checkpoint a touch more frequently. Now I can get the story and move onto the game I loved, Jedi Outcast.

I played this when I was 6yrs old. Man the memories hit hard. I didn't know how to save games at that age so I thought you had to play from the beginning everytime you started the game. I knew the.first 3 levels very well with all the secrets lol. Good times

I remember my mom getting this for me as a kid, then being upset when she found out it was an FPS (this is back when media fear-mongered FPS and violent games), but she let it slide since it was Star Wars and the guns were fake. I never knew you could turn it to 3rd person until later though, which honestly I was happy about since I liked 3rd person better due to being able to actually see the character fight.

This game really truly fascinating all these years later.

I had a PC demo disc with a bunch of Lucasarts games on it when I was like 11..this game was on it, it was a sewer level.. played the hell out of it. Was my first real dive and introduction into a Star Wars game. I’ve played countless since. I remember the demo even had the online lightsaber dueling vs mode included. Good times, best demo ever.
