I wish another Empire at war game was made with better graphics, more ships, bigger maps and ship collisions. Just watching a cruiser get smashed against the hull of a super star destroyer would bring me so much joy.
@ClandestineOstrich yeah I think the EA licence will run out in 2020, in fact EA almost regrets getting it because people don't like them for getting it in the first place.
dude they need to hire the creator ASAP, if this is all possible on such an old game, i cant imagine if they gave you the money and engine to make one better
This looks ridiculous. And by ridiculous i mean ridiculously beautiful and mesmerizing. Now , why won't the company that owns Star Wars make a game like this with its billions of dollars is beyond me.
Because nobody wants it and with nobody i mean consoles. Without consoles there is no $$$ and without $$$ there is no interest from the companys that own the licenses. :(
one of the great things I loved about this game was that it actually had debris. like when a ship died it fell in pieces rather than just blow up and disappear. It gives so much more weight to the damage that you do and sustain throughout large fights. I wish Gothic Armada had this.
What I Love about this mod is the amount of turning turbolasers, IMO it adds so much flavor and depth to the battles seeing them turn toward the direction the are firing instead of a static turret shooting sideways. It's the little things that really matter in mod/game deving.
The first ship is the Annihilator, based on a fanon design...But look at this:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YQI4tPZxKwY.htmlFor example around 1:49 you could see the Bismarck turrets aboard Executor...and many other cases. The new model have more weapon turrets, but smaller ones...
Yes, the first ship are the Annihilator, another great fanon design. But look at this:ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YQI4tPZxKwY.htmlAfter 1:49 the Biscmark turrets are in action...
And this is just a mod! Imagine if they actually bothered remaking this game today! I know EA won't because...well, their EA, but it's still nice to think about.
every time the Empire's Super Star Destroyers appear, I can hear the: PRIDE OF A NATION A BEAST MADE OF STEEL BISMARK (SSD) IN MOTION KING OF THE OCEAN (space)
Absolutely love this mod! I hope they update the sound effects in the game as well later on, they could certainly just an upgrade from the original game.
The Executor is horrifying to see in the normal game too lol Biggest ship in the game by a landslide, give it a couple ISDs as support and you'll stampede through the scum.
After downloading, the instructions say, "Place the "Data" folder from this patch into the "EAW-Remake_Light" folder of the mod." Do I just make a folder called EAW-Remake_Lite somewhere and move the file to it?
MODPATH=Mods/EAW-Remake_Light needs to be put in steam set launch options and drop the mod in a MODS directory you create within the "corruption" directory. Seemed to work for me but may not have installed it properly.
Of course! Eclipse's lazer could easily penetrate planetary shields. So just aim at the core of the Death star with Eclipse and it's gone! (Also Eclipse has more mobile and smaller superlaser means it will charge it way before death star does
it would prob take out the one in return of the jedi through the shield . if it shot first.. then prob take out the other super star destroyer . as long is it shoots right as it comes in to the death star
Empire at War remake is amazing but chugs and is hard to install on steam I had to do the following: MODPATH=Mods/EAW-Remake_Light needs to be put in steam set launch options and drop the mod in a MODS directory you create within the "corruption" directory. This is different from what is in the instructions. But man I am blown away by the ships and artwork in this mod!!! Kudos to the developer you are amazing! How do I lower the popcap to prevent chug. Or is this in the submods?
There are so many ship's in star wars that i love but my favorite is easily the venator and second has to be the executor and thrid the mc 80 home one cruiser
@@erol5787 yeah i love the eclipse too but it's way better than the awful supremacy maga super star destroyer from the first order but there's something about the Vader's executor that makes it the best to me
No love for CIS ships? From an engineer's perspective their designs were truly artistic. Highly specialized and unparalleled for their roles. The sheer firepower of the Munificent Destroyer. The Capacity of the Lucrehulk Carrier. And the all around good Providence as capital/flag ship.
I wonder what the eclipse would look like without that big thing going down at the front of it. Edit: covered it on an image of the eclipse, looks weird
As far as I know it's not hardware related, the cause of the slowdowns is that the game engine struggle to handle the locomotion of large amount of fighters and projectiles.
@Cosmic Ascendancy I haven't installed the 4 GB patch. I never put up a counter in the game. I think I actually purchased it twice, first on Steam, then GOG. The steam version had blinking planets that wouldn't go away, so I got the GOG version. Don't know how to do an FPS counter on GOG, but it was to the point that it was unplayable. I play console games too, so I don't mind 30 FPS, but this had to be down below 10. It always happened after I did 5 - 6 missions, and then it got so bad I'd have to give it up.
Если честно, то играть в него не так интересно, как смотреть, в отличие даже от оригинальной FoC. Потому я и записал несколько видео на память, а сам мод снес после этого до следующего релиза.
Why didn't they make a Battlestations: Pacific/Midway version of Star Wars? Always thought it would be a cool idea for a game. Taking control of ships, both capital size and fighters, while fighting these epic battles.
@@Scorch0017 This is probably my favorite Empire at War mod video I've seen with my favorite imperial ships present an looking beautiful..the Eclipse an Executor..Would like to see a vid with the Viscount vs the Executor an Eclipse. Just picked up a 3' Korbanth Resin model of the Executor SSD that I'll be lighting with over 5k LEDs an fiberoptic lights.
Just imagine the possibilities a new engine like Unreal Engine 4, with wast open space battles, with the possibility to go around the entire planet even in a 4x fashion, while being optimized to run smoothly and utilize all the horsepower today's pcs have. Also create everything in real scale. And simply not render everything if not necessary. Render just what is necessary to be on screen. Similarly to how google maps work. If you zoom in a little small frigates appear, a little more, now frigates have better textures, as well as all bigger ships, and more geometry details while the bigger ships don't need to render laser fire off screen, zoom in more, and corvettes appear, also fighters. Zoom in all the way and you see details on the fighters themselves. If you want to see glorious super dreadnought ships barrage one another zoom out, and all the fighters disappear (stop rendering them) and show them as dots to save performance. This way you'd have buttery smooth gameplay and very high detail without compromising anything. You can't possibly see figters if you are looking at Eclipse from a distance anyway, but they use memory and resources needlessly. This way consoles and potato pcs would have a shot at playing this game, while looking awesome. Too bad we probably won't see anything like this who knows how long, if ever.
