I know what you’re thinking because as Han Solo Put it Wookiees are capable of Pulling a droids arms out of their sockets when they lose add a game I mean
I just love this whole moment. Wookies PROBABLY don't do that. They are pretty peaceful normally. But Han is fucking with them, because he's Han. And Chewie goes along with it, because his best friend is Han. Guaranteed it's not the first time Han has done something like this.
Well Han isn’t entirely lying wookiees are warriors they’ll do what is their abilities to protect themselves. Besides Chewy fought in battles before during the clone wars he even helped Ahsoka against Trendoshian hunters who kidnapped her. If it wasn’t for Chewy she wouldn’t have made it back to the Republic.
The real genius of this is that the chess pieces resemble the best animation technology on film to date... Jason and the Argonauts. Claymation.. motion style .... etc.. 1977 and Lucasfilm completely transformed it all. I dont know if that was a secret intention to show homage.. but I kinda think it might be..
Rest In Peace Peter, Kenny, Carrie, Carrie's mother, and David and those who died. Hopefully they're safe and at Peace in heaven and playing chess and such.
My mom was teaching me yesterday that arguing with my father is pointless. He’s a narcissist who will spend the whole day telling you he’s right about something you talked about in the morning and spend the rest of the day telling you not to argue with him because he’s “always right” and trying to prove why he’s right. If you argue he gets angrier and starts bringing up more times he’s been right and insults you for trying to argue. So my mom told me “Olivia, just let the Wookiee win.” I laughed
“A sudden frown crosses Chewbacca's face and he begins yelling gibberish at the tiny robot. Threepio intercedes on behalf of his small companion and begins to argue with the huge Wookiee.” -excerpt from the script of A NEW HOPE
@@prometheusvenom7189 You are right. They are referred to as Artoo and Threepio in the Star Wars annuals. Although, I don't really understand why they didn't just put R2 and 3PO.
8 movies later(4 if we're just talking chronological) and Chewie is now a genius at this game and doesn't need to scare people into letting him win. This has so much more personality than the newest Chess scene.
Han Solo: “It’s cause a droid don’t pull people’s arms off when they lose.” Me: **looks at General Grievous** General Grievous: **pulls my arms off for labeling him a droid.**
Nobody’s worried about upsetting a toy. Han: That’s cause a toy don’t pull people’s arms off their sockets when they lose. Wookiees are known to do that. Woody: I see your point. Hamm, might I suggest a new strategy? Hamm: Oh boy. Woody: Let the Wookiee win.
This scene hits a LOT differently after having seen both Solo: A Star Wars Story AND the "Book of Boba Fett" series. The former shows that this clip isn't the first time Chewbacca has lost at that board game while the latter shows another Wookie named "Krrsantan" actually doing the "ripping someone's arm out of their socket" thing.
I like how during all this Chewbacca can hear everything they're saying about him and he's just all smug like "yep, I'll do it. Not gonna win now are you?"
Han is sure fortunate that Lando is not onboard the Millennium Falcon. Lando had the ship looking nice and shiny & Han after 'winning' the ship from Lando has made it look like a bomb hit it.
I kind of wonder what example Han would say Wookies do when they lose if this movie had a higher rating. PG: *"That's cause a droid don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose."* PG-13: *That's cause a droid don't rip people's throats out of their necks when they lose."* R: *"That's cause a droid don't pull people's organs out from their asses when they lose."* NC-17: *That's cause a droid don't rip people's balls out of their sacks when they lose."*
I think this is the enhanced scene. I believe the original superimposed actual video of the chess pieces on the film so the "holograms" had horizontal lines as was typical of tv at the time. Seems like you can only get the updated versions of the movie these days.
maybe hans just talking him up, sets the pecking order for the home team so to speak, you are new, he is crew type deal lool really doubt theyd both be that unprofessional, and as con men seems more fitting tbh prevents arguments during real situations such as last piece of food or money. feel its always best to test any threats, cuz you sorta lose eather way if you let them win right? and anything you gotta do is excused as defense
0:23 Chewie: "(growls)" Translation: "Hey! No fair!" C-3PO: "He made a fair move. Screaming about it can't help you." Han Solo: "Let him have it. It's not wise to upset a Wookie." C-3PO: "But sir, nobody worries about upsetting a droid." Han Solo: "That's cause a droid don't pull peoples arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookies are known to do that." Chewie: Puts his hands behind his head "(grunts)" Translation: "Yep." C-3PO: "I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, R2...Let the Wookie win." Chewie: "(growls)" Translation: "Damn straight."
Solo: Tobias Beckett: Wins Chewbacca: Lose A New Hope: R2-D2: Wins Chewbacca: Lose The Force Awakens: Finn: By himself Chebacca: Just chillin since he got injured
