Don't forget to read the opening crawl. It catches you up with what has happened leading up the beginning of each movie. It explains things you had questions about just a few minutes later.

50:49 The Midi-chlorians are just conduits that connect you to the force and the more connectors you have the easier it is for you to use the force. They are not the force themselves since it's way more mystical than that.

There is no military in the Republic because there's been peace for 1,000 years. The peace is kept by the Jedi Knights. Private armies are illegal, but the Trade Federation uses corrupt politicians to enable them to have a "security force" which is basically a droid army. Queen Amidala is a pacifist so she just has a small group of security volunteers. After the events of this film, many people across the galaxy have become tired of the corruption in the senate and want their planets to secede from the Republic. These Separatists sometimes resort to violence. Loyalists want their planets to remain in the Republic to find a peaceful solution. The Jedi have to step in to resolve skirmishes between the two, but there are only so many Jedi. This is the basis of the conflict in the next film.

The end of the fight between Qui Gon, Obi Wan and Darth Maul shows the difference between Sith and Jedi very well. When the laser partitions separated Qui Gon and Maul from each other, the Jedi began to meditate, calming down, and the Sith, on the contrary, walked in a rage like a tiger in a cage, filling himself with emotions. And when Obi Wan attacked Maul after the death of his master, you can see that he was filled with rage, which took him out of balance, since this is not the way of the Jedi and he does not know how to handle it, and Darth Maul, being a Sith who has been raised inside the order since childhood, who on the contrary feeds himself with emotions, easily he was defeated and thrown into the mine, and only when Obi Wan was able to calm down and return to balance, he was able to defeat Maul

I really enjoyed your reaction ;) You're gonna experience an awesome journey with star wars. And I'm glad you enjoyed this episode because episode 1 and 2 are considered to be the weakest of the whole saga (episode 3,4,5,6 are the best). I love that you chose the chronological order so please stick with it and do episode 2 next even if it may upset some toxic fans to tell you to do the release order. Just one little detail, there is a very important episode called "rogue one" that is sets between episode 3 and 4 so I think you really should react to it just before episode 4 (in facts the story takes places some days before episode 4). In short, there is the correct chronological order you should do : - episode 1,2,3 - rogue one - episode 4,5,6 (6 is the last episode and is the epic conclusion of this amazing franchise ^^)

Star Wars is the franchise I introduce all of my beloved ones first. It's like a ritual, because it affected my childhood in many positive ways. Kid eyes see things differently. Have fun watching all episodes!

It is also why we as children connect far more easily and relate with kids in movies and tv shows and the like. When a kid gets bewildered by a store filled with cool toys, so do we when we are kids. When something frightens the kids in the movies, we as kids tend to be just as frightened. It is different being a kid for sure, and being introduced to these cinematic epics early in one's childhood(I think I was 8 when I first saw The Phantom Menace, which is when the movie came out in 1999) makes it hard to not be enamored all the way to adulthood since the memories stick, but they never remain the same, since when we see the movies or tv shows as adults, we see them through grown up eyes, so while we can still remember that we got scared of seeing something as children or we got sad or excited, it's never exactly like that again. We just evolve and see things differently as we get older.

Welcome to the world of Star Wars. At the moment, there is only one global state in the galaxy where the action of the films takes place - this is the Galactic Republic, which has existed for more than several thousand years, it is governed by a senate, which includes representatives from each world that is part of the Republic. Systems that are not part of the republic remain neutral or form their own small alliances. Now about the structure of the Force, in this period of time, the two most powerful and well-known orders of forsyuzers are the Sith and the Jedi, they came from one ancient order of force users who served both its aspects - the Dark and the Light side. The dark and light side of the force are not the good and evil side, they represent two different currents of force and were named by members of the very first order in honor of the two moons that were satellites of the planet where this order was based, one was made of white stone, the other of black. This ancient order practiced a balance between the sides, the light one is more calm and creative, the dark one is more emotional and destructive. But over time, this order banned the study of the dark side of the force and focused on the light side, becoming the Jedi Order from the time. Once there was a split within the order and some members of the supreme Council were exiled to unknown regions of the galaxy because of the desire to study the dark side of the force. These fallen Jedi found the planet Korriban (or Morraband), where a humanoid undeveloped red-skinned race lived, which had a huge connection with the dark side. The fallen Jedi quickly subdued this race, which called itself the Sith, after which they named themselves the Sith Lords, creating a new order of force users, which was focused only on the dark side. With the passage of time, several major wars occurred between the newly created Sith Empire and the Old Republic, which included the Jedi as guardians of peace and justice. As a result, the Sith were almost destroyed several times, losing wars due to constant betrayals and internecine power struggles. But then a Sith lord was born, named Darth Bane, he created the rule of two, the rule that there can only be two Sith master and apprentice, a master to embody power, apprentice to reach for this power. When an apprentice becomes more powerful than a master, he kills him and takes his place, taking a new apprentice, the Sith were forced to go underground, but began to develop thanks to this. Darth Bane, after creating this rule, killed all the remaining Sith, becoming a master and taking a girl as an apprentice, who eventually killed him and, taking his place, continued the path of the Rule of Two. Sith and Jedi have opposite ideologies and philosophies, and most importantly - an attitude to the Force, Jedi serve the force, cutting themselves off from everything mundane, they are forbidden to take wives or husbands, have children, have property, nothing should cause affection and emotions and distract from serving the Force. Emotions lead to the dark side of the force, so the Sith raise their emotions to the absolute, they feed on them, most often hatred and rage, as one of the most powerful emotions, but also any other, if the Jedi serve the force like monks, then the Sith use the force to get what they want. Even the powers of the dark side and the light side are different, the light side is more creative and protective (forceful push, mind deception), when the dark side is more destructive and aggressive (force strangulation, force lightning) At the moment, the Sith are hiding their existence and following the path of the Rule of Two, the republic is in a deplorable state due to corruption and debts, and the Jedi are increasingly moving away from their path, which is why a Sith Lord named Darth Sidious decided to prove himself by sending his disciple Darth Maul on an open mission

Not sure why youre not reacting to episodes 4-6 first as I had to and many of us in 1977 when Star Wars A New Hope came out? If you watch it chronologically in order starting with episode 1 and finishing with episode 6 it will certainly make sense, but George Lucas started with episode 4 A New Hope in 1977, episode 5 Empire Strikes Back in 1980, and episode 6 Return Of The Jedi in 1983. Episode 1 A Phantom Menace came out in 1999, Attack Of The Clones episode 2 came out in 2002, and Revenge Of The Sith episode 3 came out in 2005. If you want to experience Star Wars as it originally came out you should start with episodes 4-6. It doesn't normally make sense to start in the middle of the story, go to the end, and then finish from the beginning to the middle, but George Lucas knew something we didnt; normally a backwards idea, but it worked! In 1977 we had questions; in 1980 we had even more questions; and in 1983 the story ended, but with more questions! Episodes 1-3 fill in the gaps with backstories, but not near as fun as we had starting in 1977, I was a 12 year old boy, and my journey started in the middle and that was part of the fun even though we didnt know why George Lucas did what he did!? The gap between episodes 6 and 1 was 16 years, a long time to wait!

Why should they watch in the wrong order just because you had to? George Lucas confirmed you should start watching ep. 1
@karlschmitt6359
@karlschmitt6359 5 месяцев назад
@se6369 they don't have to do anything if they don't want to! I'm merely suggesting that they watch in the order we did back in 1977 so they have the same questions we did in 1977, 1980, and 1983. If George Lucas started with episode 1 and ended with 6 it most likely would not have had the same effect and be the juggernaut and as loved as it still is today! George Lucas was a genius in releasing it they way did! Normally you start at the beginning and go to the end, but Lucas started in the middle went to the end, and then Abrams took over, told the beginning to the middle, made it shiny and more polished. Yes, you can watch it in any order want!

It's sad that you are only experiencing a fraction of the movie. Not only are you watching on a tiny computer screen when these films were designed to be experienced on a large screen, you are only getting half the sound, when the sound design itself is half the movie.

@@couplescreenreactions I know you gotta do what you gotta do and work with what you have, but some movies deserve to be seen on a big screen. They really do pack a lot of detail into the frame!

It's true, but this is the case for most people. It is completely unrealistic to think and expect people to be able to get a huge screen in every home, especially a cinema screen. It just isn't possible. Especially not for those living in apartments, where people don't have any say on the room they get to make out for installing a cinema sized screen, since there are neighbors living right below them or above them or such that the available space does not allow the ones who live in apartments to install movie screens too large for that purpose, or the sound system. Some actors have cinemas in their homes, but those are mansions, which most people don't have nor can they afford it. The costs of installing a movie screen is prohibitive too. You can get very large screens that can fit inside one's home, but, they will NEVER be cinema sized if you only live in relatively small homes, such as (most)apartments(there are some really huge apartments out there, though very, very expensive). While those(tv-screens) are a lot cheaper, even those can be a bit pricey, while many consider the cost worth it, which I can also understand. But the surround system is probably a lot cheaper I think. As for how it's meant to be seen and heard, if you ask me, I am fine with watching these epics on a modest screen. I don't demand much. While I appreciate the big release experience on the big screen complete with the epic surround sound, I don't think that's necessary in order to enjoy the movies, and I think it is just your personal opinions that makes you think people are robbed of an authentic experience if they don't watch block busters on a cinema screen with the surround system associated with it. In most cases, the huge screens and the loud sounds are in most cases just a cinema thing rather than an average home thing. These movies are perfectly watchable and enjoyable as they are on modest screens. I respect your opinion of course, but at the same time I do not think extra investments into replicating a cinema experience for everyone and every time is necessary.

@@Khornedevotee You don’t need a cinema screen necessarily. Anything is better than watching on a computer screen where you are getting so little of the information that was so carefully crafted for the viewer. But cinema screens are pretty cheap anyway. I found my 50 inch TV for 300 bucks. And most reactors use headphones anyway so sound should not be a problem for the neighbors. And I don’t think everything needs to be watched on the big screen. TV shows rarely need to be seen on big screens. But very visual movies certainly ought to be. At least for those of us who really appreciate the art of cinema. If you’re just doing it to pass the time then I guess it’s not that important.
