I always loved how the Grandmaster of an elite warriors also had a passtime of psychologically trolling potential students.

All the space battles were done with models. Some of the shots used green screen where they went back and overlayed. All the lights you see in the ships were tiny Christmas tree light bulbs.

Oh this is the best Star Wars movie. Also it's the first Star Wars movie many people saw. Myself included. I got into Star Wars because of the N64 game Shadows of the Empire. It starts off with Empire.

No CGI guys, at least not for little things added in the remastered videos. All physical production.

Most of this is not CGI. The original versions had 0% CGI because it wasn't invented yet, which is amazing. The first CGI image in any movie was in Episode VI, and that was just a holographic schematic diagram with no other CGI anywhere else in the movie.

These films are what made me interested in visual effects. I remember I always wanted to try my hand at it.

It's a pity you didn't see this when it first came out, everyone in the theater went nuts at the big reveal...good times. Being a serious sci-fi addict I recommend The Last Starfighter, it's my favorite inspirational film.

The Imperial fleet was huge. The Deathstar was just one weapon in the arsenal. The asteroid field was not CGI, it was blue or green screen practical effects. The weaving of the Falcon was actually done on a motorized track. I dont remember just when they chamged to green.

When they made the original Star wars in the 1960s they didn't have CGI it was all done in studio by hand

Guys, this is practical effects. CGI didnt exist then. CGI didnt become a thing till the movie Abyss came out in 1989.

My favorite Star Wars film. I saw it in the movie theater with my children when it was first released. This also the very Star Wars film that I had ever seen

"How can he understand him?" Han knows how to speak Chewie's language but he sounds ridiculous trying to speak it. Chewie can understand Common (English) but he cannot speak it. Thus, they just speak as they know how and translate each others words. They have been friends for so long, they can do it without thinking. Chewie is Wookie, and they have what is called a "blood debt". If you save a Wookie's life, they will protect you until they save your life as it is a matter of honor to them. Han saved Chewie from slavery, so he follows him as a matter of honor and friendship.

Vader was just testing Luke their whole fight. Luke never stood a chance. As soon as Luke got that good shoulder hit in Vader got serious and Luke lost his hand

As a huge star wars fan this movie an Return of the Jedi are my favorites out of all the series. The clone wars animated series is also really good but there is like 7 seasons to that i believe

You guys need to do the next one.....Return of the Jedi. Its been 2 months since you watched this one. You have to finish the original trilogy. Personally, the next 3 movies after Return of the Jedi are all a prequel to the first three but aren't as good. They let you know how the Jedi's were eradicated and where Luke and Leia came from and how they got to where they are now in this movie. It also gives you the Darth Vader origin story. However, you may find them enjoyable. Then the movies continue on from there.

Possibly the best sequel ever made. It can be argued that The Godfather Part II and Terminator 2: Judgment Day are on the same level of not just keeping the same standard as the original, but somehow surpassing it. It is very rare to accomplish that in any form of media outside of music.

The original Three movies are the end of the story you have to watch episode 1 2 and 3 to get the beginning

Luke didn't just have a lucky fall at the end. He was sucked into the vent.

It's fun to know that Luke getting ambushed by the snow monsters (Wampa) at the beginning of the film was also used to help explain the scars Marl Hamill received from a recent car accident.

" So not everyone is onboard the girl power hype train. The idea of chivalry is rooted in Christianity. In Christianity there is a power hierarchy. (1 Timothy 5: 2) On a side note, I've heard Muslims say that the Bible tells Christian women to wear head coverings. This is not entirely correct. They are referring to 1 Corinthians 11: 6. "For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off..." However, that is not understanding the context. This chapter is talking about the same headship principle as before, at 1 Corinthians 11: 3 that I quoted earlier. In verse 4 it says that "Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head." This is because as verses 5-15 explain, a man keeps his hair short and his head exposed as a sign of his authority given him by God. While a woman has long hair as a sign of submission to man. Yet in some Christian congregations there were not enough men to pray in front of the congregation or to teach, so when women took on a role usually given to men, instead of cutting their hair short to show the authority of a man, they would have to cover their heads as a symbol of that. This also gives a good example to the angels in heaven that we respect the levels of authority as God has assigned them. Or to put it simply, Christian women only wear head coverings when given the authority a man would normally have in the christian congregation, such as praying or teaching in front of the congregation - that or they would cut their hair short. It is not at all about modesty.

Lol.. they didn't have CGI in 1981, everything was filmed with models.. later with the 20th anniversary and special editions, they cleaned up the mat lines around the models, and added some CGI for the Snow Monster- Wampa.. but really the original trilogy was all filmed with real sets, mat paintings, models, puppets, and animatronics. 👍💯

After this episode, you guys are now fans of Star Wars gentleman. Welcome to the club gentlemen. Watch the prequels I, II and III after episode VI. Do NOT watch the last three episodes VII-IX, they are garbage and destroyed the entire Star Wars franchise. Once Disney bought it from George Lucas, they went down a path of no return and are a horrible studio for successful franchises and should just stick to their own creations.
