Nemo TheEight nah it’s just the fact that conceptually the temple guards never existed till the clone wars and the old republic game; so it’s an elaborate way to add the grand inquisitious into the mix, which lead to there eventual demise (which I don’t like - long story). *even if the guards trained to haven little to no emotions they have to be aware of it to throw those emotions aside. They [temple guards] had ‘no’ emotion so that they’re more receptive to deep emotional cues that would jeopardise the safety of the temple

@@herrscherofisaf5592 the temple guard have always been a part of the order they were just not always called the temple guard they were the jedi that protected the places sacred to the jedi order only after the jedi returned to the temple did they take up the mantle of temple guards before that they were scattered around at places that needed them most were before the return to the temple were Barsen'thor, Warden of the Order this title was only given to a few not even most of the members of the jedi council ever achieved this rank withing the order

Keep in mind it was the middle of the night, so a bunch of them were probably asleep. Those guards would be easy to kill. From Clone Wars, meanwhile, it looks like those who are on duty typically patrol in pairs. Pretty easy to approach them pair-by-pair and ambush them while their backs are turned. That would take care of most of them. Vader and the Clones could handle the rest.

Jan DeWitt but wouldn’t there be other Jedi or clones or surveillance (droids or system) of the area from which they sleep; wouldn’t there be Jedi taking night shifts or emergency sensors to detect the death of a highly commanding Jedi - wouldn’t the other sentinels feel the deaths of there brethren

Yh that does leave a lot to be desired, would make more sense if the grand inquisitor just prevented any meaningful security deployments and eliminated external sentries to allow for the 501st and Vader access

The guards falling in protection of their temple would have been much more intense. A seen of them standing atop the stairs as the 501st marched uo would have added yet another layer of true heartbreak during order 66.

Lucky_Shot well if you think about it, if he killed them during or after order 66, all the remaining Jedi probably would have been overwhelmed with all the other thousands of deaths of Jedi occurring almost at the same time as all the others across the galaxy. 🤔

Another fact is that Emotional attachment was even stricter with the guards (And possible they did not know the other guards as they were anomalous). They might be feeling the dark side of the force at play, but most of the jedi at the time were feeling the same thing as the clone wars came to an end. Also sense the dark force was at play, they might not feel the full extent as the temple was built over a sith temple(Thats a rumor I heard I would love someone to tell me if thats true or false)

How did the Inquisitor stab ALL the temple guards in the back? There's no way that he would be able to get all of them. He's of about equal skill and there are probably guards out on shift and in groups or pairs at least. The logistics of this just doesn't make sense.

It's unlikely he fought them all. It's more likely he killed them with something like poison, or by killing them in their sleep. He was a good fighter, but him fighting them all at once makes no sense because: 1.) He likely wasn't good enough to fight them all at once 2.) The fight would have been so long that the entire temple would have known what was happening almost immediately

If I did recall correctly, the Grand Inquisitor wasn't the only Temple Guard who defected from the Jedi order prior to order 66, as there were cracks within the loyalty of the Jedi Order with Jedi losing faith in the Jedi cause and falling to the Dark Side. It should be obvious that the Grand Inquisitor had help with other defecting Jedi Temple Guards in sabotaging the Jedi Temple's defenses.

To those who wonder how Grand Inquisitior killed all the other guards, remember that they were emotionally and personally detached. This can be used against them as a form of apathy. They could sense the deaths of others, but would not act on it. Plus the Jedi were constantly sensing death as the Clone Wars raged, so a few deaths of their own wouldn’t be terribly uncommon. GI could also have formed a false security alert in a secluded place getting them all to be killed one group at a time. Kills one group, calls in another group saying guards have been slain, kills them, repeat until they are too few, or all dead (That’s how I would do it at least).

Good point, but I doubt that he could take on 2 or more Guards by himself even if he ambushed the groups like you said, repeating said process doesn't cut it either as eventually other Jedi would walk in on the fight. The Grand Inquisitor wasn't trained any differently from the other Temple Guards so his victory in killing all of them is ridiculous.

I call foul sir I saw a video where the temple guards were holding it down during the Jedi temple siege the clones were actually getting clapped but when Vader showed up it was to much for them to handle Vader and the clones at once and Vader was clapping there cheeks on one side and then the clones came from the other if it weren’t for Vader the temple guards probably coulda held the temple down long enough for help to arrive

I think the temple guards were more powerful than most Jedi in the temple, Jedi sentinels are powerful than the average Jedi knight and some Jedi masters.

As the other person said, the Temple Guards were exclusive to the Jedi Temple, the Jedi Sentinels were their own branch of the order. You might just be getting confused because the both the Sentinels and Temple Guards use yellow lightsabers.

This isn't new news. Star Wars explained made this video like, a year or two ago. It's fine that you want to make a video on the subject, but don't claim that this news just came out today, it's so underhanded.

I could imagine if the temple guards weren't all murdered and the grand inquisitor didn't fall to the dark side, the siege would probably been a lot more costly for the 501st and maybe even have been a defeat for the Empire, considering the Temple Guards were among some of the most deadly Jedi in the Order

What really hapened. These guards were a later "cool" addition to the jedi lore. Then they suddenly have to explain the lack of them in the movies and so on. Thus this lame explaination about why they werent around at order 66. WELL GUESS WHAT, THEY WERENT AROUND B4 THAT EITHER. No where to be seen. These kind of plotholes and the lame postrepairing of them just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

There is still one question ... When Yoda and Obi Wan returned to Jedi Temple and finished the 501st .... where was the Grand Inquisitor ? Did he left for another mission to kill or capture other Jedi in the Galaxy or he left directly to the Industrial System at Coruscant to begin his Dark Side Training ... ? Please give me an answer ... he is my favorite character ...

sorry dude, but this isn't actually canon. This is how the screenwriting WANTED the story of the guards to go, but lucas didn't give the all-clear. This is lame anyways, how tf can one guard kill every single one of them. Please don't misinform people, i love your content tho!
