very nice video! one small addition though. the very first time you buy a single chromium pack, you'll get a full farmable character. especially starting out, this might prove very well be worth the crystals spent on it. A good character at the beginning can have a huge positive effect.
I already suspected that this is the best way to manage your crystals, but I literally have no self control and cant stop myself from buying chromiumwhenever I reach 350 crystals.... shame on me!
I've stopped spending crystals on energy refreshes (with the exception of double drop events) and stocking up to buy full gear pieces when they show up in the store... with the exception of items that have to be farmed because they aren't available from the store. Also, don't just grind on one piece of gear, switch up farming between at least 3 pieces. The game seems to keep track of your missions ran and lowers the gear drops the more you run the same missions and this is over the a few days not just a single day. The same applies to character shards.
About what level did you stop using crystals for energy refreshes? I'm level 38 and use the 50 crystal refresh every day so I can farm gear. I'm trying to get all the characters that I use regularly up to gear 5.

Helpful tips man! Actually, despite being a newer player I can get through the GW all the way most days just by using teams with lots of synergy and sustain - not sure if lucky or just chose the right characters lol
I save up for the 5 packs. Caught a baze 2x nihilis and a sith trooper. Plus others. Plus it is much easier for me to clear GW and can't get past 1500 in arena.
I can't get past the top 200 because I got a crazy hard group (lvl 80s starting from like the top 700). It gets stressful when you try to manage your crystals and SIM cards and stuff. This guide really helped, thanks!!
Honestly, if you're level 85 I think you should primarily be saving crystals for gear in the store, the 200-600 crystal gear like the mk5 stun gun salvage, mk 3 stun cuffs salvage, mk 3 holo projector, mk 8 biotech implant (the gold balls 25 for 375 crystals), and whatever gear you need for the toon you are trying to gear up. Spend some crystals on energy refreshes as desired, but that should not be your primary focus unless there is a double-drop event going on or something. If you are below 85 then you want to get to 85 ASAP in order to unlock everything, including 25 extra crystals a day for completing daily activities, so it makes sense to spend crystals on energy refreshes to gain extra experience. I would go for regular energy first since it is cheaper, especially if you don't get a lot of crystals through arena. More toons and stars from cantina battles is nice, but gear is king and having a better geared arena squad will help you out more than a new toon, and you farm gear with regular energy. If you have trouble with galactic war then get a Phoenix squad consisting of Hera, Ezra, Zeb, Kanan, and Chopper. Sabine is good but is more of a PvP toon than PvE and is the hardest to farm shards for. This will help you out so much in galactic war, and will also help you get Palpatine and Thrawn. Phoenix is probably the best squad for beginner and mid-level players to invest in. They crush galactic war, get you two legendary toons, required to get Thrawn's capital ship, both Ezra and Kanan are jedi which you need to get Grand Master Yoda, are decent for raids as a new player, great defensive squad for Territory Wars in guild events, and while they aren't the best arena squad they can do okay especially if you are struggling in arena and have no idea what to do. Everyone should have at least a g8 to g9 Phoenix squad. While you should not spend crystals on chromium packs, the one exception is that the first time you get the single chromium card for 350 crystals you get a full toon, so you should do that as soon as you can.
Hey AhnaldT101, I really like your understanding that "What's 1 dollar for me might not be 1 dollar for you". Many people like me are from other countries and your 1 dollar costs like 4 dollars in my country )) I'm mid-level, significantly slowed down in my progress, very tempted to spend money (which I never believed I would) but I should be very careful about it :)
I've been stocking up lately on stuff to get the most bang for my non-paying cheap-ass on stuff for may 4th. got around 1500 crystals, 700+ cantina and almost 800 reg. energy. plenty of credits for now almost 15.3 million.
also my early game strategy was buy a couple energy refreshes get to lvl ten farm gear for characters then immediately go to arena and buy refreshes for that and increase far In arena rank(at least rank 100) all in the first day I'm f2p
I know this video is pretty old but I just found your channel so as a point of update on Galactic War, I have my Phoenix squad smash it every day, they're all around Gear Tier 7-8 and in the level 60 range, but it's kind of nice never really needing to lean on my main squads, and if they ever end up in a jam I have all my healers healthy and ready.
Hmm, I got Glaactic war all 12 on a daily basis as soon as I was high enough to do it. Mind you I have a Mother talzin lead NS team. Got lucky in a couple spots.
Nice tips! I'm level 77 and, run out of money and training droids! It's easy to level up the player but, if you leave some good chars behind, it's almost impossible to make these better (Will take a long time, money and droids). Plus, my guild is not very active. Anyway... thanks again! (Sorry my english.... Brasil....ehehehe)
I stay in the top 200, always complete galactic war and daily activities. I don't know how many crystals that is but I've been trying to gear up my characters but I have HORRIBLE luck getting gear

Nice vid, what I did is to buy energy/cantina refresh at the beginning of the game, til I got decent equip n lvl, but then I stopped, n saved all the crystals cause I needed raid gear parts to keep movin, n my guild wasn't strong enough for a lvl 6-7 rancor raid, so raid gear was nearly imposible to get, but u can buy raid gear parts on shipments for 1400 cyrstals, so now I save n save crystals, now my main team is around 10 lvl gear :)
Few things First, I've had issues with Blue Stacks as well. Use Andyroid or Memu, way better Second, those crystals are given to you but you're kinda forced to buy a chromium in the tutorial and you get Chewy for free on Android. Third, I don't know about now, but before, there was a 100% light side character unlock rate from your very first, single chromium pack, so that's kinda worth it early game.
Is it more efficient to save up the 1200-1400 crystals required for the 50 item purples (stun guns + cuffs...) or to use that energy trying to farm them? The drop rates seem so bad that I'm pretty sure it's quicker to buy them than farm. I have also been known to be horribly wrong...
as for the chromium pack's the very first one that you buy unless this has changed recently it's a guaranteed drop for a light side character, and it can be any light side character in those packs use to be able to get rey while she was in them, I have 2 alt accounts I've gotten Cody from it on one of them and Aayla on my other. So personally I'd recommend buying 1 350 chromium pack and if you're a dedicated SoB keep remaking a new account until it drops a good light side character for you i.e Rex, Wedge, Jyn, or any of the other good light side characters in those packs.
Can you make a video about what to spend extra crystals on? People like me who watch your videos easily should be top 50 in squad and top 20 in fleet. I get about 900 crystals a day from getting rank 1 in fleet and rank 3-4 in squad. I have only spent 15$ on the game so I am not a whale. I spend 450 crystals on refreshes and am left with a lot crystals that I don’t know how to spend.
When you first start the game you can get to lvl 20 in about 10 minutes if you do it right Plus you SHOULD buy the first chromium pack because it will always give you a full toon!
Giggling slightly at the laggy BlueStacks emulator. Running through the video for my wife (sooooo happy she's got into the game). Having used it on my Surface (cough) it runs ok. Nowhere near as smooth as the game on my OnePlus 3, but a lot better than your Mac seems to handle it. Anywho... Thoroughly appreciate the videos my man. Think your Darth Vader review needs revisiting, promoted by the fact that I watched your Rancor Raid solo video earlier and then saw the Vader review. In my book, Vader with Zeta is near Grand Master. What do you think? Oh, one other thing... Get to the chopper! 😂
I made a lot of mistakes with crystal and energy management early on in this game lol. Did get lucky and open Rey early on in a pack, so at least it wasn't a complete loss.
I got Tarkin from a Chromium pack early on. now I have him at G10 and he will be a ship commander. so that was kind of good. Also got Aayla and Bane. Bane is still terrible but Aayla is good.
+Patrick I did get lucky with my first draws of chromium too. I got Darth Maul at the beginning which was super cool but quickly realized he was really bad lol Glad you got Rey though! She is such a monster in this game!
This galactic war thing you all keep mentioning is strange for me. I've only failed completing it twice (since the day I unlocked it) and both times I got to stage 11.
It is a thing many people complain about which I why I made my GW assumption very low when talking about crystals in this video. I need to look more into it as to why those say it is unbearable but there are definitely many like yourself as well as many beginners who find it not that difficult. I think GW is just not seen in a positive light because people want better rewards. Just a guess I suppose.
One Question: how about the Megapack? I am relatively new to this game and I am not (yet) sure which kind of squad I would like to build up. So my thinking was to get a Chromium-Megapack to kick things of, once I saved up enough. Whatever I might find in there will lead the way. Obviously this might only be viable if you are undecided like I am, but the overall shard count / crystal from these packs is higher than from any other source. As I understand it is mostly one character + an average of 11 shards * 7. Yet I don't know how the chances are to get garbage only from these packs, so I am open for any answer. Maybe you know another one of your amazing stat-charts?
I played Heroes Charge early on and going from a $3 monthly pack for 100 gems daily to SWGOH's $11 for 21 days just doesn't seem worth it. I bought the $3 pack for 7 months straight, but have yet to purchase the $11 one.

I would love to hear your opinion on the following: I am in the Top 50 every day and do 1 cantina energy refresh and 1 standard energy refresh. As soon as I have 1400 crystals, I buy some raid gear in the shipments. What^s your opinion on spending crystals to get soe extra raid gear? Too expensive? Keep up the good work! +C. S. Hey buddy! Tough question you have here because it really depends how hard it is for you to get raid gear. There was a period of time where I would save crystals to buy raid gear because I was doing T5 raids. Once you get to T7 the rewards are much easier to come across. So if you are having a hard time in arena because of low gear characters and you are not doing T7 raids I would say do it but only temporarily. You want to quickly be able to not need to spend crystals for gear because you have more important things to farm! I bought raid gear for probably a month and stopped quickly. Hope that helps and that everything is great over there in Germany! :)
I'm level 43 right now, and I get a lot more energy than I actually feel like needing. I can farm equipment just fine for my main team and still get about 15 character shards per day, plus a good income of Crystals. I have about 570 cantina energy, 640 regular energy,, and 2350 or so Crystals. Should I buy a 8x Chromium Pack or should I save them for when I actually need to refresh energy?
How is the difficulty for Galactic war calculated? You mention 3 months before clearing, but I haven't had a problem clearing it and I've had it unlocked for only 3 days. I'm doing free to play as well too so its not like I bought a mega team or anything.
funkycrunk well i have had it for over 6months and yet i havent completed whole gw i have zeta vader and stuff im lvl85 also but the problem for me is that i face lots of zeta teams that kicks my ass at last battle

Its funny EA really didn't talk much about it but from what I know it is mostly based on your top 5 strongest characters in the game and has nothing much to do with arena. I believe Jesse said the same thing in my interview.
Leapdroid works very smoothly for me, but bluestacks wasn't too bad either. I'd check if there isn't a problem that is causing you to have a bad experience with the android emulators.
Yeah people are telling me that is a popular one as well as a few other ones. Most of my viewers tell me to stay away from Bluestacks lol I'll check it out though!

I don't agree with spending crystals on energy refreshes. It is much easier to get gear from other places like challenges, shipments, raids. At least where I am at right now (lvl 70, gear tier 8-7). I spend all mine on training droids and ship building materials right now because I never have enough to level up my characters and ships. I have 12 characters and 7 ships I am focusing on. Am I spreading myself too thin? or why does every guide say spend crystals on energy? Seems like a waste.
Has the amount of crystals required for normal energy refresh changed? As the first refresh is 50 crystals and the 2nd is 100. So it is 150 crystals for 2 refreshes not 100?? Also same with Cantina, 100 for 1st time and 200 for 2nd = 300 for 2
I have a question. Is the maximum amount of shards you can get of a certain character from a certain cantina battle 5? For example: I am farming Ezra, and i got 5 Ezra shards from circa 15 battles. Then in my next TEN battles, I got none. Am I just very unlucky or is the maximum shard amount 5?

Is it worth spending 150 crystals for 3 shards of like Wedge or Darth Maul? I really need those characters but I don't have the node for Wedge yet and my guild shipments are more like shitments where it just gives me gammorean guard and luke skywalker
So about 10 months ago, my crystal page disappeared. The home page looks normal. I click on store and data cards, resources and crystals appear in the headers. When I click on crystals, the page is blank. Not so for the other two, they are normal. Anyone know what's going on? And how i fix this??? PLEASE!!??
Has arena war gotten harder that it was 3 years ago or am I just terrible at it? I'm roughly on par for everything else but he says I should be in the top 100 and im at like 1150

To be honest I feel as if he would become free to play at some point seeing that he's been exclusively P2P for a very long time. I'd hate for you to spend money then all of a sudden he became a free character! If you have to have him now I'd say try to save your crystals and buy him from shipments although it will take awhile. I have guild mates that have done that so it's possible!

It should be around! You are only allowed to buy it once a month. Once your subscription expires it should pop back up. I just checked the crystal store and I see the deal there still.
Unless you are going to be spending a lot of money I would say don't do that. Refreshing energy is still the best way to go for the F2P individual. Its what I'm doing and I've already got a nice assortment of ships without spending a single dime.
Ryan Breen. I'm new to the game and reached 60 yesterday, bought the fleet mega pack and got hardly anything worthwhile from it. felt such a con. Will not be treating myself to another pack as this game is hugely overpriced.
i know this will probably not be seen/answered but how do you manange to get 7 stars? ( ive been farming cantina and it only drops player shards every 2 battles)
A very long time and a lot of patience! I've been playing the game for 1 year and 2 months so its a lot of time to farm. I usually farm 4-5 characters simultaneously (1 in each location of the game). Some days your luck is really bad and some days is great! Also, refreshing your energy means you have more chances for the stuff you want to drop!
Henry Ryan Oh yeah there are plenty of people who have a tough time. That's why I say things lightly because I know plenty of people having a hard time with Galactic war.
It really comes down to who is your squad in arena and what mods are they using. If you let me know what characters you are using I can figure it out better. With the right squad it is possible to get up in the ranks easily!
Im at lvl 50 and my good characters is almost 5 star lvl 50 Lando gear rank before purple, 4 star biggs and a 3 star Rebel Scout ( Yes i am building a rebel team and im farming Ackbar) But i have a hard time with cantina battles chapter 2 and mod battles. Any tips or should i just keep on farming and leveling
Sneezy Whimsicott keep farming lando till 7 star don't worry about progression too much until your team is stronger I wouldn't worry about mods too much because having characters 7-star might help more at that point and definitely get wedge once you get far enough, stormtrooper Han is also really good
Yes, I do it (I mean, I do it in android, but I'd be surprised if you can't do it on your iphone account...thing), I recommend Leapdroid, it has been discontinued, but you still get the installer around if you look around hard enough ;)
