Star Wars Galaxy's Edge: Cal Kestis Legacy Lightsaber Review
Today we look at a Brand New lightsaber to make its way to Star Wars Galaxy's Edge one that won a community vote and was delayed a few times is finally here the Lightsaber from Jedi Fallen Order can be purchased for $160 for a single hilt or $344 for 2, why would you want 2? Simple to make it a double bladed lightsaber of course
No blade is not included, no extra purchase needed to get a connector , no it does not change color, no it does not connect with other lightsaber... YET those who played the game knows what I mean but no info if they will make it at the moment.

I'm actually really surprised they used the same sounds from the game for this saber. I was expecting them to just use the same recycled sounds.

It’s awesome, I just got one yesterday. It’s my first legit lightsaber and I think it’s amazing. I was so torn with what hilt to get yesterday I think they are all incredible.

I know the Legacy Lightsabers are somewhat limited in what they can do, but I was really hoping this one would feature the color-changing blade. Oh well... still a fine looking lightsaber!

@@Darth_Arashi I LOVE those! I'd still love to get them. I really wish they had just made them "infinite color changing" the way the cheaper base-lit lightsabers are since he can change the blade color to so many options in the game. But... you can't have it all! Hahaha.

Sorry to burst your bubble but expecting 3rd party features from Disney/Hasbro is like asking for a miracle. Itll never honestly happen to do their cost cutting mind set. Theyll remove any quality of life features just to save themselves a single cent

God that thing is chunky. Disney/Hasbro seriously need to redesign their internal as its sad that 3rd party manufacturers can make hilts 100% accurate compared to the company that actually owns Star Wars

It upsets me because I love this saber. It’s by far my favorite saber in Star Wars because I think sabers with emitters that surround the saber look so cool, and having it be broken or double is exactly what makes it so interesting to me (and I love fallen order). I hate that it’s so far away from the saber and so big compared to how sleek it looks in the games, and I want one so bad but it looks like I would have to go for a 3rd party saber which is much more expensive.

@@georgealexwade it’ll be slightly more expensive yes, but it’ll have basic features that even the Disney/Hasbro wont have till the next century. Smooth swing, bring LED’s that wont look washed out next to a dimly light lamp, actually audible speakers, etc. Features that actually make it feel like you are holding a saber from the movies themselves

I don’t think that is wrong. I always thought the Saberforge and Vader’s Vault were too small. Considering it was made for a Lasat’s baseball glove sized hands.

Loved your review Sir James of this completely BAD ASS lightsaber. Now I have a definite excuse for making a trip to Disneyland/Galaxy's Edge to aquire this very cool but heavy Saber. Thanks so much for your committed devotion to Star Wars and May You always be ONE with "THE FORCE".

it does hurt to see them put old Master Replicas' electronics into such a handsome hilt, though. Time for Disney to embrace smooth swing, accurate accelerometers, and neopixel like all the lightsaber companies did over a year ago.

Cal's damaged lightsaber is easily my favorite design, and I'm honestly glad they didn't simply attach two full-sized sabers together because I would've liked that a lot less than what it looks like in-game.

Loved the review! Finally able to check Batuu out for my first time mid march, which unfortunately is just a few days before they announced this saber releasing! Major bummer in my part for the mistiming but loved the place, looking forward to checking it out again next time and again thanks for the review for this lightsaber, been waiting quite a bit for it!

Cals was by far my fav one they had when I was there a week ago. By a mile. I got that and Dookus. Both are amazing. I don’t think it feels awkward or too top heavy at all.

I was kind of hoping this would have swappable crystals since the in-game saber was customizable, but this still looks great. Hopefully they release Cere's hilt in the near future

Honestly I’m cool with the size it makes more sense that it’s that size since it’s Jaros lightsaber, I know in the game it looked really small in his giant hands and it just looks weird lol I’m usually bothered by the chunkyness of legacy sabers but this one works for me personally 🤷‍♂️

Great review as always! Just out of curiosity, since I’m heading to Disney soon, have there been any changes to the available items at dok ondars? Like for example a friend of mine who went on another school trip to Disney earlier this year told me that some of the things like the Jedi food capsules aren’t there any more. Is this a permanent change or just an availability thing, and is there anything else like this at other stores in galaxy’s edge? If there’s any way you know that I could find out it would be a huge help, and thank you so much if it’s at all possible. If not I completely understand. Keep up the great work!

I definitely love that blade for the single/double blade options. Though I have to agree with your comment on the weight. Of all my blades, that has to be one of the heaviest hilts I own. Especially when you double-blade it.

I honestly kinda had a hope that there were a few that had like the orange colored blade, or the green one. In the game you can change the color of the blade but it's still cool ig.

This was an awesome review! A big smile swept across my face when you were getting your Jedi on outside! I recently grabbed the Dark Saber from Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities in Disney's Hollywood Studios and I'm loving that one! You should definitely check it out if you ever go there! When you have it with both attached, the cover tech wheels will be at the same spot, so maybe if you have two clips for it to attach to your belt you could attach it horizontally on your back

If you have a heavier saber weighing down a belt, you may try what the British officers did in WW1 which was to use an additional strap from the belt to the shoulder. I don’t know if it would work, but when it came to sidearms and metal sabres, it worked to displace the weight.

Watched this video when it first premiered in April and wanted to come back here with a thank you. Because I just picked up one of these bad boy's from Galaxy's Edge in WDW (long flight from Cali). I was curious could you do a follow up video on third party stands or even blade plugs that might fit something like this? I guess stand and blade plug recommendations could fit for any sabers. But I just wanted to see your thoughts on those. Just to make it present nicely on my desk. I love the saber quite a bit but I can't find a way to display this chunky saber and the plastic saber plug on the top doesn't look great. I might get a saber plug from etsy that looks a tad bit nicer but I wanted to see if you had any suggestions.

Overall I’m happy with the saber but I can definitely think of a few improvements that would have made it perfect. If you could change the Kyber crystal like in the game it would have been amazing

One thing with the sound: Seems like it has a single "on" loop, with no variations, nor randomization at start point, which means that when you turn them both on at the exact same time, they sound phasey. Disney imagineers, holler me for future sound design =D Really cool saber! So addicting to have them all haha.

It's nice but the large size and weight is a concern -- especially in the double blade configuration. Also, I wish there was a single on switch for the dual blade so that you can be just as cool as the movies where both blades turn on at same time while just holding the middle handle -- coz with this setup, you have to tell your enemy "hold up, let me flick this one on, and then flick this one on... " lol

Just saw this in Galaxy Edge other day have to say so close to buying it the damaged hilt really gave it its own identity and something really unique I just had limited money to spend and was my first time so I got my Savi, Luke legacy so maybe next time 🤷‍♂️

So apparently there is painted black ring above the rubber grip below the emitter switch. I was so confused why that specific part was so poorly done and to top it off on mine in particular it was much more sloppy compared to other peoples cal sabers. I guess it’s supposed to be detail weathering but it just looks so goofy like someone used a sharpie. I weathered the area on both sabers to mask it and it looks a lot better now

I would love if someone made a version of some take on the split saber that reflects when the saber truly becomes Cal’s. I know at this point in the game it’s been customized by every player so it no longer looks like the original.

The hilt and emitter should be longer, but honestly, I'm just disappointed that its only blue. I know that's how it is canonically, but considering how a big part of the lightsaber in the game is that you can change the color with the Kyber crystals. I think it would have been fantastic if you could've used your own Kyber crystals with this saber so that it could be whatever color you want.

Agreed… they did mult color with the CW Ahsoka Tano lightsabers… and that came out earlier… soo they totally could have done multiple colors also it looks a lil short in the center when connected to the double bladed version …. I wonder if Hasbro is coming out with a black series version

seeing that they made a lightsaber from a game as a legacy saber makes me wonder if we will ever see the sabers from Star Wars Visions as legacy sabers. a lot of them had really beautiful designs and would be cool to collect

I don't think visions is canon. This game (fallen order) is canon so it gets a light saber since it is part of the star wars story.

Beautiful design! I’m not from the US so the option of buying it from Disney parks is not available. I’ve been trying to find it for a while, I found a couple of them on Amazon. I just got mine on Monday I’m so glad my wife suggested we go to Disneyland in April a couple weeks after the lightsaber dropped I thought it had already dropped I would of been so disappointed if it wasn’t even available, didn’t get the second one I got Rey’s lightsaber and ahsokas and felt too broke to go for the second hilt to make the dual

I’m going to Disney World later this month and am going to make a lightsaber at savi’s workshop. I’m actually playing Jedi Fallen Order for the first time too. I’m really enjoying this game. I wish savi’s workshop had pieces to make Cal’s lightsaber but they don’t have the top piece, sorry not good with technical terms. The closest I’ve seen is people making their custom lightsaber in the game which is also a neat idea.

Sorry to flood with comments but now I’m debating on getting this lightsaber instead of a custom made one, because I wanted Cal’s one anyway. Do they give you that same box in the store? The antiquities store I mean. I would probably get the single damaged one because that reminds me more of Cal’s lightsaber.
