I’m risking it! As soon as I saw when reservations for the general public we’re going to open, I set an alarm for 6:00am that morning! 😂 If I get a reservation, it will be the best early birthday present ever!
The reservation website will crash when it opens up. So many people will be trying to log in at the same time. I would love to go opening day but will have to wait till October.
Same here - the crowds will be crazy and everyone will be trying to do everything. Would rather wait til later in the year when it probably won't be as crowded and you don't need a reservation to get in. It looks like it's going to be lots of fun but I would like to look around without being overwhelmed by the amount of people there.
SoCal Select means I'll have to wait until after the summer, but frankly it will probably be a tiny bit easier to see things after the kids get back in school. So that's fine...
Galaxy’s Edge reservations madness is like the San Diego Comic-Con madness and I’m sure anyone who can’t get it will keep refreshing their screen until it says Congratulations, your Galaxy’s Edge reservations has been confirmed or something like that. Let the Black Thursday begin for Galaxy’s Edge!!!!!!
I’m old enough to remember (the original) Star Tours opening day! (Before the days of annual passes!!) After that debacle, I swore to never be at the park on opening day of a major attraction again.
My day job is a software developer and from what it sounds like, Disney’s developers probably didn’t take the time zone into account for the original emails. Servers often use GMT for the time zone, so if they didn’t factor in the difference, it can cause something like this. I’ve had it happen to me before and while it is easy to fix, it looks bad to users. Hopefully, the fix will make sure that the non-hotel guest reservation opening goes smoothly. Looking forward to exploring the world of Star Wars.
And the giant "whoosh" you hear on May 2nd will be the sound of thousands of people rushing to the Disneyland website to get their reservations. The ensuing wails and cries of agony will be when the site crashes due to the massive influx of traffic.
Honestly if u want to go earlier, going around the time school starts for some people (Usually mid-late august) is pretty okay. Also because people usually end their vacations around that time as well. The times that I have gone during that time it isn't as packed BUT i don't know if it will be the same this year because of Galaxy's Edge.
This is what happens when all your other cast members are so busy helping the Avengers fight Thanos that the only people left to work on Star Wars reservations are Dale and Launchpad. 🤪 Enjoy your trip, Max! Thanks for the video!
We're staying offsite, so May 2nd we'll be with the masses trying to get a reservation. I read that a Disney Account is required to make the reservation. Any idea if it's a requirement for each person going to have an account, or if I can just have my own account and make a reservation for myself, along with my wife and son?
LOL, Texted all my friend, MONDAY!!! oh wait TUESDAY!!!. I really wanted Tuesday, so i'm happier with the goof. Is there going to be a separate front gate line for guest with reservation?
Lilith Collins I think he means that there are still some hotel reservations available during the May 31st to June 23rd GE reservation access period. Opening day hotel reservations are all gone though.
Charmaine Etsitty The reservation period is only from May 31-June 23. June 24 and beyond, GE is open to anyone (so expect long waits just to enter the land).
Anyone have any input for someone going September 12-16th? Will both parks still be at capacity? Will it be semi enjoyable? I don’t really care to see Star Wars I just want to be able to see Disneyland and California adventure and get on rides. Only make it down once a year so I’m Hoping it isn’t to bad!
I don't think the parks will be at capacity per say, but I think it definitely could still be nightmarish since a lot of passholders will be able to start going again as the summer block out dates will be over. Take that as you will... personally I think the entire year, crowd wise, will be at best not great, just because of how small Disneyland and California Adventure actually are. But like you I'm hoping to score a trip before the year ends and I don't care much for Star Wars land either, I'm just going to monitor the crowd levels throughout the summer because I think there's really no guessing how the crowds will be besides "insanely crowded"
waffleday9 ugh that’s what I’m thinking but I’m just crossing my fingers that it won’t be as bad as I think it is. I don’t have any kids with me so I can go at rope drop and stay till closing so I’m just hoping early day and late at night are bearable at this point. I am already fully aware mid day is going to be a freaking mess. Hopefully the Disney magic is on my side and it won’t be as bad as we all think it’s going to be 😂
MrTheoLater well plane tickets and car are already paid for so I guess I’m gonna have to deal with that crappy decision. Lol I’ve worked the parks pretty well on busy days before so I guess I’m just going to have to hope for some luck again on this one as well 😅🤷🏻♀️. Thanks for the input though guys! Does help me out a lot.
MrTheoLater also when I looked on the AP block out dates a few days ago I’m pretty sure the lowest level AP can’t go those days. I will have to check again though to make sure.
MrTheoLater yeah I realized that once I looked it up last night. Every day we’re there we buy MaxPass since we only make it down once a year. I’m hoping they wait to open rise of the resistance until the holidays
Max, check out my latest adventure! I’d like to see if you can do the 4,400 mile, 5 Disney Park challenge! I bet you might be able to pull it off like I did!
