What I remember about the start of the crusade is .... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the fourth crusade, the Knights Hospitalier was transferred to Constantinople. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what the Pope wanted us to do, did we have any sins, any private prayers to our lord, perhaps, but none of us said a word.
