wow, it took me like 2 or 3 hrs to leave taris, i did 100% it

It took me ten hours to get off of Taris the first time I played because I explored literally everything at least five times... The second time I played I was able to get off of Taris in 5 hours. In other words, I am bad at this game.

It's actually the result of a graphical problem that I had on my own computer. I had to quick save after every battle and load that quick save so I could move again.

This game didn't exist when I was 5. I would have been playing Mario 3 at that age. But, I remember doing a 100% complete run in 17 hours before.

Hey thanks for this! I always kind of accepted it as the price of playing the game and honestly I was kind of surprised how like... surprised the runner was when it happened? Because I just assumed it was a thing with running on modern hardware without much wiggle room. I'll keep this in mind next time I play!

The time certainly has come down over the years, considering that the first couple of segmented runs were over 3 hours. We (Indykenobi, myself, and a few others) have also improved the run by about 40 minutes over the last year.

Same thing happened with Half-Life speedrunning :).

@@mins332 I always knew it would happen but I supported it because on the off chance that it didn't get shut down I wanted it to be as successful as possible. However the C&D letter they received gives me hope that maybe the powers that be saw the interest in a kotor mod and may even hire the developers for a future project. You never know. Ill stay optimistic cause it's not like Ill be crushed if something like this doesn't come out one day lol.

Holy shit the last glitch you mentioned happened to me too And I was much more little at the time, so I legit freaked out when HE HAD NO FACE

One glitch happened to me where juhani ran into a Sith Lord during cut scene and they both got kinda stuck together, they were fighting each other but they were just standing there and twitching.

Yeah. I had that and every time I returned to the Ebon Hawk there was another Zaalbar. I don't remember exactly how to do it, but last time I played this game I had it figured out. I did 3 runs in a row as a dual blaster jedi. Anyway, on that one run I had like 15 Zaalbars on the ship and was able to run around with 2.

turn off fullscreen and enable windowed mode in the .ini, set FrameBuffer and SoftShadows to =0, disable vsync and set the .exe to run in compatibility mode for XP SP3

We've come to call that glitch Fast Text. As far as we've been able to determine, it's related to the memory leak inherent to saving the game (it's also a bit hardware dependent). Once the amount of leaked memory becomes large enough, the dialog just skips by itself. Unfortunately, if the leak becomes too big the game will crash.

You're right about choosing Knight Valor for poison immunity. It protects against the dark side power Slow, which as it suggests slows you down a good bit. You can only obtain specific feats or powers using a fake level up (FLU) if you already have the base level of that ability when you start the FLU. If I want Master Speed, I need to already have Burst of Speed. I can't go straight from 0 to master within a single FLU. Furthermore, the only attribute, skill, feats, or powers allocations that the game remembers are the ones from the final level of the FLU. One minor exception is that any other Feats or Powers acquired during a FLU will remain until the game is loaded. Sneak Attack works fine with the FLU. The superior sneak attack feat doesn't show up in your list of acquired feats, but the extra damage will still be applied. The only ones that don't really work are Armor, Toughness, and Implant feats. Each feat provides a different ability instead of a replacement for a weaker bonus. Single saber + Dueling is primarily for a higher chance to hit. If we were to use MTWF, we would use Bastila's Double-Bladed Lightsaber. I'll have to investigate if I could sneak it back into the run since we no longer need to sell it for credits.

So I'm guessing that since the FLU on Taris ( 26:10 ) ended on a character level far beyond all the Sneak Attack feat handouts, none of the extra Sneak Attack levels were kept in that instance after the FLU and a game reload? I still have a habit of overthinking the logistics of Dueling vs TWF for a build (ugh), so I'm sad to type that I've never felt good about siding with one or the other. Dueling's +3 to Atk and Def is hard to argue with, though. I guess the question is, does this outweigh the benefit of dealing a possible x2 damage per round? [scratches head]

That's right, the extra sneak attack levels are not kept after the Taris FLU. There's another consideration for the Dueling vs TWF build. The +3 to Atk affects all attacks in your round (Master Speed adds 2). With TWF, You'll have 4 attacks per round (without flurry), and the attack penalties will be -2 for one of them (off-hand) and -0 for the remaining three (main-hand and speed attacks). Also, since you'd be going from 3 to 4 attacks, it's not quite double damage per round.

Matty J you might as well buy an original xbox for dirt cheap and buy the game. I've had my original xbox before I was born and my whole childhood revolved around getting everything done in this game.

That skip can be done in two ways. When Canderous takes you to Davik's Estate, you get a cutscene with Malak and Saul. After this CS loads, there's a small period of time where you can click one of the quick menu buttons at the top of the screen. You can then change your party to remove Canderous. Just don't return to the Hideout from here (you'll get stuck on Taris forever)! When you get to Davik's, his conversation will break and you can leave without fighting him and Calo. The other way to do it is by doing a save buffer right when you arrive at Davik's Estate. Quick save several times after Davik's Estate loads. Then load the quick save. If done correctly, the conversation with Davik will not start, which means you can leave without fighting.

I am using the Master Jedi Robes at the end. However, my character model got stuck as the Sith Armor because I wore it up until I encountered the Leviathan. I'm not exactly sure why this happens, but since you're not supposed to be able to have that armor past Taris, the game must not know what to do with it.
