Ash's big mistake was not to have a bunch of shrimp farmers dig a big pond or a bunch of alien dead eyed murder care bears set a bunch booby traps for the AT-STs.

the first shot of the game, the clones have a suppression token and that gives them cover 1 as they are not droid troopers. Suppression tokens always give cover 1, unless the unit has the droid trooper keyword.

My thoughts on the batrep: 1) Your opponent came to win, not play. Simple. 2) Deploying opposite of two AT-STs without much Armor mitigation is always gonna be a bad time. 3) Everyone in this batrep needs to brush up on the rules a bit more, but you did well for your third game. 4) Not sure if you were aware, but your Clones next to the Commander should always have had a free order due to Direct: Clone Trooper. I don't think it was noted in the video, so just a reminder.

Great job! I really like the paint schemes and the terrain. One correction is the order of operations during attacks: 1) Roll Dice 2) Re-roll dice (aim tokens) 3) Convert attack surges 4) Apply Dodge/Cover Check out page 16 of the RRG for the order of operations, step 4/5 is where this is defined. Otherwise, great video! Looking forward to the next one

Rough, he rolled hot but you did go up against 2 ATSTs with no impact so it was going to be up hill...but still those Death Trooper save 🙃. Remember token sharing is only with trooper units and now they nerfed clones with the amount of sharing they can do. Thanks for playing Legion I've been waiting! Don't get discouraged with Clones either they need to find a new identity that they have been shaken up so much recently. And Empire has been spiked we will have to see how that plays out as well, they needed some love but hopefully it didn't translate into being op. Notes: -The snows surge into a hit, then cover reduces it to nothing (22:54) -Only 2 suppression not 3, you get your one from the attack and then an added 1 because the attack is suppressive (24:16) -You always have light cover when suppressed just fyi (25:47)

Wonderful battlereport :) I love that fact that Legion has been added to your roster! I also have few points about mistakes because I think these are important things: - unfortunately you can't share tokens from vehicles; only clone troopers can share tokens beetween themselves because of clone trooper keyword - you can only share one token per attack now... I now, that's bummer but here it is - you must pay attention to the way you move units; I know that this firendly game and all but movement is very important in this game; if you went with BARC on the first turn it was nearly impossible for it to take tak position; either it would face in quite different direction (is important because of arcs rule for weapons) or landed on your unit and displace them (another important mechanic); I know that you are doing the same thing in Marvel Crisis Protocol game but there it is ok, in this game it's quite different ;) I hope that I was not overly annoying band I hope it will contribute to correctness of future battle reports :)

A few others; Annihilation Looms only gives suppression to trooper units; also since vehicles don't have a courage value, so they can never have a suppression. @7:12 Aggressive Tactics also only gives surge tokens to units that have received faceup orders during the command phase. Reliable on the Phase IIs give them a surge at the start of the activation phase. In that attack that followed, your Phase Is would have light cover from suppression. Based on the location of the Death Trooper leader, it's likely that unit would have received cover from the terrain piece in between the DTs and Phase Is. It'd be a good idea to give the RRG a quick read on how cover works. It seems complex, but it's very simple. It looks like a few times you weren't using Cover rules. It makes a HUGE difference.

I’ve loved your channel on other games for their quality and accuracy… it just so happens most of our tabletops never lined up but now they do! Can’t wait to see more. Additional about 1st shooting, clone troopers can get green tokens only grom other clone troopers. Barc is Vehicle, so clones can't get surge token from them. :)

The comment about surges not being blocked by cover is incorrect. Attacking is as follows starting at the roll dice step 1. Attacker rolls dice a. Roll Dice b. reroll dice c. convert attack surges (so surges are converted to hits/crits here) 2. Apply Cover and dodge (Here surges could be canceled from cover since they were converted in the previous step) Here's the part where there was some confusion 3. Modify attack dice (attacker resolves any card abilities that would affect the dice, then defender does. This is where abilities such as Impact or Armor come in but the surges happened at the previous step) 4. defender rolls defense dice a few more steps after that but that's the basics.

Loving the legion reps! The board and mini's look so nice. I think what you mentioned that you should have done was sopt on, keep the clones all together, hid them better, leverage fire support. Also some of those white saves were nuts! And in as not obnoxious way as possible I like testing how well I know the rules. Here's what I noticed were errors, if you're interested the order of operations would have saved you some clones! Setup - Lower point bid chooses to be red or blue player. Red player picks the board edge first then blue player reveals their battle deck (pg6). Also turn 1 those clone troopers get cover 1 from the suppression (droid troopers are the only ones who don't get that benefit). Wookie warriors surge to hit not to crit. But with dualist they get pierce 1 if you spend an aim. And re the snow troopers/order of operations you guys (understandably) got a little mixed up. Pg16 runs through it in detail but if they're surge to hit. The surge turns into a hit first. Then you take away hits due to cover then dodges if the defender has dodges and wants to use them, so those shineys on the hill probably wouldn't have melted so fast. Triangle tokens (immobilise, ions, poison) come off after that unit finishes its activation (pg.52) Chin up on that pretty savage beating (we all had em) the more experience you get the easier the game becomes!

Environmental gear does absolutely nothing on a Wookiee unit because they already ignore movement penalty of terrain by being a “Wookiee trooper”

I don't quite understand how the mission was chosen, but it's neat that the game includes mission generation as a core mechanic. I like that a lot.

Really enjoyed the game. I haven't played a lot myself and I totally get where making some of the mistakes that have been pointed out already in the comments come from, feels like a very different a beast to other games I've played. My couple of cents would be throw some more scatter terrain on the board, the avenues being broken up with cover than infantry can move up and move I think will help most (it certainly is my biggested take away from my games). Otherwise you just end up not really moving (a little bit like in necro where you don't move out into a firing lane if its a long corridor with 3 gangers at the other end). I am looking forward to seeing more games in the future, seeing you play skirmish would be great, especially with more infantry focused forces

What's with the clone troopers on the right not getting cover??? The most ridiculous thing ever considering they had 2 suppression and they were behind terrain. Seems like the empire opponent was spitting some BS.

Yeah.... that was some absolute crap. This was a rough game to watch. That was a pretty sweaty double heavy Empire list against a VERY casual GAR list.

Yay Legion! A couple tips for list building - having more units (activations) is important because it gives you flexibility, and lets you save important acts until later in the turn. Adding a few cheap units (naked BARCs, R2 and ARC strikes for Republic) helps with that. And like you noticed, GAR kinda hurts for impact weapons right now. Anakin is probably the best thing they have atm. If you fire support an RPS into his saber throw when he has surge to crit, it can do work.

The DC-15 on Phase 1 units has Critical 1, which I have been finding better than Impact in many cases. Cover can make it so you don't get to convert hits to Crits (like on the Rebel speeders) on units with armor... so just bypassing that step by converting before cover modifies dice has been great. Phase 1 DC-15 squads with Specialists is a pretty good value.

A nitpick maybe, but it feels like your tables for Legion feel really open. Cover plays a big part, more comparable to something like killteam, so having more terrain and such in the middle of the board will probably make more interesting games over those wide lanes

Geez that first shot of the game was played completely wrong... 7:14 1st of all aggressive tactics can only give surge tokens to units with faceup order tokens. So only the BARC would have had a surge. 7:33 clones are suppressed so they have light cover already and gaining more suppression from duck and cover would do nothing. Plus should only gain 1 suppression from it not 2. In the end light cover would have gotten rid of 1 hit making it 6 saves. Clone troopers can only share tokens with other clone troopers (it will say on their card they are clone troopers and the BARC is a repulsor vehicle not a clone trooper unit) so the unit would have been completely destroyed from failing all saves, not having friendly surges to spend, and horrible dice luck. But still enjoyed the video keep up the good work

This battle rep along with others i've seen clearly shows that the nerfs on clones were completely unwarranted and turns the republic faction into the lowest tier faction. Enjoyed watching it though, look forward to more.

Lol... what?! I feel like you are just wrong. This is an absolutely poor example and only good for cherry-picking "Clones bad m'kay". Poor matchup to begin with, a relatively competitive Empire double heavies list against a mish-mash of GAR that all have far too many upgrades on everything and no real answer to Armor. There is also a relatively more experienced player against somebody brand new to the game. That is a recipe for a faction not performing anywhere near it's best. Clones still hit like a truck if you manage to adjust to the changes by using the tools at your disposal. Phase 1 units with DC-15/Z-6 heavies and Specialists turn them into cheap and efficient monsters. Double generic commander is giving you plenty of order control and Fire Support, and you can hit 11 activations with 5 beefy Corps to make a gunline. Give one Agressive Tactics and the other Vigilance and you will have a hard to shift gunline. Clone token sharing was absolutely degenerate and unhealthy for the game, ARCs have been over tuned since release to the point that all Special Forces options had been compared to them. And, Rex had probably one of the most accidentally good brain dead alpha strikes with "Take That, Clankers!". Adapt to the changes and you will see that while Clones have taken a bit of a hit, they are still in a decent to great spot. While a few of the overall nerfs to GAR may have been a bit too much (Echo and Fives)... almost all of the nerfs were well needed.
