Hi Mark thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Yes the Micro Machines Deathstar is awesome! I too had it as a kid and sadly it went missing. Three years ago I had to rebuy it.
Hi FunnyGuy! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. I really appreciate your support, and I am glad you enjoy my work. Sorry I haven't been making videos lately Grad school is killing my free time.
I just unboxed my own Jedi Starfighter (which had been sitting in its box for months). It’s a very cool design and I agree that the landing gears are just dope! My two main gripes though are that: 1- The Obi-Wan figure looks severely undersized! He looks like he got shrunk down half his size inside that cockpit LOL! Even when just standing next to the starfighter, the ship dwarfs him in size like a bus, whereas in AOTC and CW, the craft is no larger than a compact car. 2- Connecting the ship to the hyperspace ring was really a pain… The space is so tight, I really had to push the plastic to fit everything inside and have it connect to the ball under the ship. Maybe I’m just not handling it right, but I’m afraid of reconnecting and disconnecting the ship and ring too often, or else I’ll break something for sure.
I love the ship but I wish it would have came with some type of stand to display it with the ring attached. Guess I will have to buy an aftermarket one.
Awesome review Dave! I am absolutely in love with this ship. I love the clean folding landing gear and the extra molded details. I just really wish it had a flight stand like the Titanium version has. I also have a tricky time trying to attach/detach the ring without damaging the small clips. I guess I got lucky as I have no wash issues with my Delta 7-B.
i love this ship! i do wish it came with a stand to accommodate the ring, and it would have been cool is the obiwan figure had been from the early clone wars, but those are nitpick-y. the ship itself is really really great, and the obiwan figure is also really well done! i'm kinda glad they went with the clone wars model, even though i do like the AOTC model a bit more. it means we'll get repaints like anakin, ahsoka and plo's models 10:53 very strange, mine doesn't have those little bulbs on it. i wonder what that's about. this is part of why i love your reviews so much! there's so many things that i and many others miss on these pieces. like, i had no idea the landing gear was sculpted on the sides. i just assumed it would be flat. you're extremely thorough! your channel is the toy equivalent of that old saying "stop and smell the roses" and i really appreciate and respect that.
Wow thank you my friend! Yea those bumps at the back idk what they are hahah. I had a part that I cut out where I talked about the episode 2 version but I was like to long axe it lol. Omg I hope we get re paints that would be so cool!
Finally another chance from the already rare to find titanium series version (although I'll have to wait for brave souls to buy it from the US first 🙃)
Finally an Action Fleet scale vehicle with a Hyperspace ring! And of course there’s one thing that never changes: copyright crap! Edit: I just remembered they were going to have an AOTC Jedi Starfighter in Action Fleet before it was cancelled but it wasn’t going to come with the ring. It was Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter, so that’s made this all the more cooler for me even though it’s the Clone Wars version.
Copyright crap must be addressed hahaha. Thats interesting about the action fleet and starfighter history there. Ive been buying the Episode 1 micro machines pod racing sets. Not going to lie.... I love em!
i love the ship it looks absolutely amazing by itself, my only main issue with this and i know its a nag but im just sad that somewhere along the line they got the top and bottom parts of the rings swapped. in the pictures on the box itself, lego sets and the show they have the notch things on the back of the ring where the top indented and the bottom is sticking out but the model itself has it reversed and you cant put it the other way around without cutting pieces of plastic off. still an amazing model i love this line of toys
How successful have you been with Series 2 yet? It hasn’t arrived here fully yet I believe. I’ve seen a few Republic LAATs and AATs on eBay but that’s about it.
