It`s actually a breath of fresh air to see Star Wars sociaty from the bottom up. Normally you play a jedi, which are the folks that are all high and mighty. Time to fill the boots of the regular dishonest thug that just wants to get their credits.
I'm happy to see you did decide to put this up on youtube! I'll watch it eventually once I've played the game since i don't wanna be spoiled. I hope you keep uploading on here and get viewer numbers but i bet there will be more people like me who are waiting to play first. I do hope you maybe do a spoiler free review though! Totally understand! I'm going to get the second episode edited and probably release it Sept. 2nd or so. I'm having a blast with the game so I'd love to keep posting it.
It’s been super stable for me. There is a sound bug when picking up items. There was an odd bug I had one time where certain screens but mostly arcade game screens were not showing up correctly. A restart fixed it.
Finished the game and just restarted on hard. Game story is better than I expected. It feels very much like Star Wars Rebels. One recommendation is there will be a prompt warning you before that last mission. Before you do that make sure you have your favorite syndicate up high that you like or enjoy. Have fun.
The opening of this game already has me worried about the writing. What purpose does inviting messengers and then killing them serve? He killed all of them so noones going to go back and tell any scary tales or deliver any messages. and he'll be lucky if any messenger or representative ever comes to him again. It's just a really badly written ooga booga moment to me. It's supposed to make me feel like "wow this guy is scary and brutal" but all it did is make me say "this guy is stupid and poorly written".
Funny though, it brought me back to a moment from Vampire Diaries where a character says "I do believe in killing the messenger. You know why? Because it sends a message." These were likely respected members of their specific syndicates sent to treat with Sliro and their disappearance/deaths will be noticed. This was a message of "I don't need any of you and I'm coming for everything you have" that's why he told the story about his brother and wanting to take the plate. I personally love it, but I actually do enjoy the "kill the messenger" vibe.
@@Cynthetic But if they were respected members meaning they were good earners so capable criminals that are members of an organization wouldn't you expect it would be harder to kill them than just invite them to a meeting under false pretenses? It just seems like they willingly walked into a situation where the only people with guns in the room had obvious allegiance to someone they knew better than to trust. It just doesn't seem believable to me that respected and thusly veteran criminals would walk into a situation without some assurance of their own safety. Diplomats in general typically don't do that and I'd expect criminals to be even more cautious. And if they're respected earners did the organizations they're members of not have some vested interest in their safety? I assumed they were just run of the mill messengers instead of being respected because it actually made more sense to me that they weren't respected. I'm not averse to a kill the messenger situation I just don't think this is well written as one. Like in The Godfather they have a meeting out in public in a restaurant so that they'd feel safe because they figure noone would kill someone out in public yet alone a police chief. So it's actually shocking and a statement when Michael kills the chief and the turk that he's meeting. I get I'm reading into this but I've been a writer since I was a teenager and I've read most of the EU and this just seems like seriously lazy writing to me. Imagine this for a second. This is obviously rough because I came up with it in two seconds but imagine if at the meeting there was some kind of confrontation and the guards all pull weapons on each other. This would indicate that they all have their allegiances to each member. And then the dude does something like snap his fingers and they all go from pointing their guns at each other to pointing them at the people they're supposed to be protecting. Then they blast them after some statement of intent. That's a display of power and influence because he infiltrated their closest circles. And he's then making a point that noone is safe and I'm coming for all of you. It's hokey obviously but it's writing that at least serves a purpose. All solid writing takes is a little thought.

Even The Godfather addressed this by having members meet in a public restaurant with a mediating 3rd party and one side they presumed to be a civilian. There are multiple reasons in that scene for the characters to think they'd be safe so it actually ends up being a statement when Michael shows them they aren't. The scene in the game seems like it was supposed to be written as though the guy is making a statement but it doesn't actually accomplish that goal effectively IMO and I feel like it would have been pretty easy to fix.
@@jackcoleman1784 That depends on the situation. It doesn't seem like the syndicates are in active war, even though they compete and don't always get along. And these aren't just some criminals, there is a sense of organization and rules. The other established syndicates play by these rules und adhere to the established structures within the status quo. Sliro obviously didn't play by the rules here, he did something you apparently just aren't expected to do. In a way the other syndicates already took safety precautions by sending representatives and they obviously didn't expect Sliro do declare war, especially not in this way. It basically establishes Sliro as ambitious and ruthless, while being arrogant and making clear that he won't play by the rules. He is shaking up the established underworld so to speak.
Well, to me it paints the villain as a classic narcissistic guy that loves to hear himself talk. Killing everyone is good and fine but talking so long when you kill them anyway is.. Not good. It remains to be seen if the villain remains narcissistic, then I dont mind the opening. Tho from a writers perspective, he wouldve came off stronger, if he obviously waited for something or someone and let them be shot the second he doesnt have to talk anymore. But ots whatever.

It's nice to see someone play the game for the game and not as means to re-assert themselves of their prejudices. Like how SW is going down the drain, how Ubisoft is going down the drain, how this game must suck because it is both SW and Ubisoft. And so they play looking for flaws instead of just playing it to enjoy it. So many negative reviews out there where you *know* the person had that opinion before they even started playing and then played to prove their assertions.
The sad thing is people are so blinded that they just don't enjoy video games anymore. It's all baseless politics these days. Gaming is supposed to be fun, and Outlaws IS FUN!
I mean, are people not allowed to not enjoy something then? Feels like you're doing exactly what you're accusing others of doing and loving that Syn likes the game simply because you too want to enjoy it. I don't even have an opinion on this game yet cause I've not played it and I tend to enjoy Star Wars games so I expect I probably will, but your comment comes across as pretty hypocritical. People are allowed to dislike a game, even IF they already disliked Star Wars, and it doesn't invalidate their opinion.
@@muscles4817 - You're jumping to conclusions. Negativity sells and there are people whose entire business model is to diss games/studios/movies etc. Negativity attracts, causes comments and that equals more income. I differentiate between someone who plays the game and comes to a conclusion vs. someone who already has a pre-formed opinion without having played the game. That's why I enjoy watching someone without a preconception playing the game and coming to their own conclusions. Personally I'm sitting on a fence - there's light and shadow in this game. And I'm curious to see what her take on the game is (when she has done a few more missions). So I never criticize someone who doesn't like the game because they played it and had issues - I just don't like people who say "It's garbage because Ubisoft and Disney" and think that this is a critique that has any meaning. I hate fanboys as well as the 100% toxic negativity crowd.

I don't get the OTT negative reaction this game is getting from certain people and outlets. I think I'm about 5hrs in or so, just got my 1st 2 upgrades for the speeder and I'm loving it so far. I love the fact you cvan easily get side tracked off the main quests as there is so much to do!. The hate for me is hating for the sake of hating and that it's a Ubisoft game. I'm not even a Star Wars fan and this game has been great so far!
I'm a couple hours in, and it's a lot of fun so far. It DOES feel like an Uncharted in Space RPG, but that is totally fine with me. And the use of your little critter buddy in combat and exploration is a cool feature. I like it so far.
Glad to see you are giving the upload another shot. I can’t watch it though since I wanna play it myself but I hope it does well for you viewer wise and the playthrough continues here on RU-vid (Though I still think Outlaws would make a better Twitch stream game) so I can watch it when I eventually get it once the price comes down on the game.
We'll see! I've got about 6 episodes of this that I'd hate to scrap since I had so much fun, but we'll see how things perform. It's been insanely fun so far so I'm happy with either stream or videos
Game has been a lot of fun. Feels a lot like the Rebels series in the very early episodes. The music and sound was nailed perfectly. The immersion is great all over and they are very good at placing in cinematic moments like the series does while playing in a natural way. The characters so far have been very fun. I haven't met any yet that I found annoying. They have all been interesting. To me it plays like an adventure, stealth and fighter. Which fits perfect with Star Wars. It works great. And the game technically is super stable. Few issues on my end after about 20 hours of play.
It`s probably due to the theme of the starting area, but it reminds me of Chora`s Denn and the Silver Sun Strip from the Mass Effect games. That`s probably just me.
