It also seems like the splitting up of Luke and Leia could have been a pragmatic way to diversify. For example - If one is to be found by Vader - there was still another option. If they were together and found out - both options are gone. Another reason why it was advantageous for one not to know about the other.

Swear Anakin would have turned out just like Luke maybe a more sociable version if things were different. He was raised by Shmi who more or less tried to raise Anakin to be a good person like the Lars did for Luke. It was the fact him and his mom were both slaves and constantly looked down upon compared to the actual scum of the planet who were regarded as heroes. The Lars trapped Luke around the farm for the most part so he didn't ever hang out with those kind of people, but Anakin was all over town working for one of them and hearing all kinds of mean shit from guys like Sebulba. Anakin was constantly showed as a kid that no matter how nice you are to people and how good you are at your job, you can get used easily because of that kindness and people who have power, whether they are born with it or not, have respect and admiration. Even if they are bad. He was bought out to join a religious group of protectors and slowly finds out how corrupted their ideals are especially when it comes to relationships with outsiders of their cult and being involved with politics and war. He sees that even the good guys are not so good in others perspectives throughout the war and he doesnt have much info about Sith other than an assassin Maul and a political leader in Dooku who says things about the Jedi Anakin would agree with before going dark. Slowly he is groomed by Palpatine, his father figure, after Qui Gon died and he is told about Sith powers granting immortality and saving people from death, only 1 of which is currently true. It's really sad I mean Anakin does come across as a gullible idiot a lot of the time but Luke would have probly done the same. These are gifted eager kids all the nice people seem to love and they could never have developed any sense of fake friends where they were raised. He also doesn't really get just how important he is to both sides until its too late. If only he had told the council about Padme or the story of Darth Plagueis the wise.

Yoda is but one long living Species in star wars and should have been restricted from serving as Grandmaster as long as he did. Maybe serve a term of 60 years and then as a former grandmaster they help operate the padawan schooling, and retain a seat on the council.

Honestly I think this has a lot more to do with Yoda's personal failings then Obi-Wan. Both in the movies and in how he proposes it there's the suggestion that Obi-Wan wouldn't simply repeat the same training as last time, as Obi-Wan had already learned much over the course of the clone wars in terms of how to mentor and teach. Adapting further to a more nurturing role would be a fairly easy extension of things we've already seen from him. Yoda's the one that's been static until the very end of the clone wars and probably would have a very hard time not falling into the same habits of training as he'd practised for centuries. While Obi-Wan certainly isn't a perfect mentor to Anakin his failings pale in comparison to the context around them both from the state of the Order and the galaxy writ large.

Just saying, I think that Yoda would not be able to defeat a unconflicted Knightfall Vader or even Jedi Anakin. At first he would have Anakin on the defensive, because of Yoda’s speed, but as soon as Anakin gains his footing and starts to use his strength it would be the beginning of the end for Yoda, seeing how he isn’t very physically strong.

Well, it took yoda "only" about 900 years to, at least indirectly" his failings in managing the jedi. It might b in context of the twins but how isn't the reasoning true for every single other jedi before, that came up under those rules he held up. It's also kinda inconsistent with ep5 joda cuz he still was saying luke is to old for training. So he seemed to even have driven the wrong conclusions from anakin's fall n rather saw the failiure in not following them strictly enough. It makes little sense why he would change his mind so sudden n fundamentally after so long, only to change it right back 2 decades after, n even in facing the problem that the twins could've been the last chance for the orders survival. What's true for luke counts for leia the same. A good example for why even the movies novelizations were not canon despite lucas having been way more watchful over their content then that of the eu novels sually.

What's really messed up is the Jedi grabbed people as kids but the sith actually didn't like training children because of their lack of life experience...of it wasn't for being constantly told the sith are evil there would be times it would be really hard to tell which ones are the good guys.
@phorz85
@phorz85 4 месяца назад
@@markcarpenter6020 neither r "good guys", both r mutually the worst of opposite ends of the spectrum of forceusers n their guiding philosophies. Jedi n sith both r the extremist version of two leanings while their origin really was centrist n that also as a focus not as coincidencial result. They weren't like that based on hindsight evaluation of their action, they acted above all to b that n evolved teachings n believes for that goal. The jedi perhaps r worse in the way, that almost all later force sekts resulted in a way from the jedi n their light sight extremist stance. Most afterwards resulted from disagreements n splintering factions, light n dark side leaning. Some that existed parralel were remaining disconnected for minor differences that were not really a philosophical divide but seen as such by the jedi which made that hericy - no clearer way to present as extremist than exclude any diversion to the own positions. The sith, though' being extremist darksiders, only are one of many examples that came to b like that n a pretty late one at that. Given the invidability of drifting into exttremism due to that side's believes very nature n with the age of the jedi in mind, it sticks out that for several times more than the sith's entire existence as an order, the jedi have prevented any group to evolve a dark side focussed tradition long enough to even reach sith level of corruption whatever era of sith u wanna pick. Before there exiled jedi met the species, the jedi for nearly 20000 years fought n destroyed every sekt that they deemed corrupted or fallen n stole or destroyed all connected objects they found. It's hard to b any more extreme n that is nostly true in modest times too. The zero tollerance regarding the dark side was never in question at the top n the increasingly dogmatic rules that limited the daily lifes were often excused by preventing things that "can lead to the dark side" but the less propable that was the more of a purely opressive regime they became n by excluding real learning about dark side views academicly, even 4 masters - their was never any competend to help once a student really fell, it was never recogniz time either. Also any genuine attempted help came from ppl that were just as ignorant or naive as the whole order just less easily hostile. Such attempts resulted in backfirering n making the helper into a convict or they ended useless cuz the person was too far gone before even be suspected. Otherwise it could have been met by more proactive jedi who acted rigurously n rather too early than late, causing injustice seen by other members n also causing fear n anger. I think either extreme upon becoming such in the eyes of others would cause a counter extreme by default no matter which was origin to the other. Both r definitly wrong or misguided views that harm or pervert the real thing that their beliefs r about n that means also both r correct about their judgement of each other as such n thx to their mutual viev as priority above all about their beliefs, both r blind to independend perspective or see them as inferior so they are as definitly reappearing as long the other is arround as they r impossibly ever to change closer to a better state cuz that demands internal reform aimed at leser extreme. Any deliberate reform they do was to get more extrem inside their framework or to widen the framework to allow further extremization beyond the current limits cuz extremism also includes a sense of superiority which is the guaranty for it to become hostile to all it doesn't welcome. No extremism can ever truely "tollerate" stuff longer than it has more pressing issues elsewhere to deal with. Some point n it wants to bother those who wanted just to b unbothered n kept for themself. That's quite a lot n rambled on into deeep theory,hm ? ;) Buttomline, both r as wrong as they can b n even twice as far from convincing each other than from being right so both allways pose the most potential for violence by existing but have to exist if the other does. That's why in both prophecies the meaning is that the chosen being will end both orders, just the misunderstood purpose of that makes 'em seem 2 n about 2outcomes implying the other to b false n a proof for the other belief to b false. Both think that the goal is a further purification. One thinks balance point they r helped to reach while being actually the obstacle between. The other think that destruction of both sides is a step to more extremes n don't understand that destruction to b the goal already. To bring a force tradition that is guided as it should the biggest inbalancing factors among forcetraditions must end cuz neither can tollerate the approach of a middleway as it was b4 the jedi began to change it. It won't mean there can't b a reformed version of the orders nor is it reall mythical, more a natural fact to happen caused by the force's will that is the same as a not to heavily inbalanced state. Means such a chosen one will appear that way as soon a treshold is breached but that is slowed by the neutralizing effect that both orders have on each other. Either will cause the chosen one not as help against the opposing side but as "the nuclear option" should they ever get the upperhand n gwet close to totally end the others. That's why vader's fall really was the thing that made him the chosen one_ The prophecy started to b furfilled when he kept personally pressing continued search n destruction of jedi after order 66. Killing sidious was just finalizing te task not the step to become the chosen one as result. It's commonly seen flipped, he doesn't becomes the chosen one as a process that is meant to b a lasting state, he reaches after balancing the force (ending the jedi n sith) like a method with him as the goal - he allways is the chosen one, which isn't a gradual but a single, defined thing. Either it's the one or not. N that one is there to do the thing, which is the goal.

It is a question I've asked myself often, and I appreciate your response, but I still disagree with it. Splitting the twins up and raising them without knowledge of the Force is only a good explanation for plot that developed over the course of movies; it's a terrible idea given the universe those movies created. It makes more sense for Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, and Yoda, hidden by the strong presence of the living Force on Dabobar, to train Luke and Leia secretly as students of the Light and the Jedi with an updated curriculum based on love for the students in their academy and combat training for the eradication of the Sith. That said, I appreciate your point of view and the hard work you put in researching and filming these videos.

"Let's send Luke off to this Outer Rim planet to be raised by moisture farmers that his parents barely knew." The prequels really made a mess of things. The impression in the OT was that Yoda and Obi Wan were utterly defeated and had no plan and no control over what happened with Luke and Leia.

To be fair, if they HAD tried, it might not have turned out as perfect as you’d think then, either. Think about it. Obi-Wan and Yoda, powerful and capable as they may have been, were wanted dead by almost *the entire galaxy* so they probably couldn’t have raised the children THAT well if they wanted to. Sure, the children would’ve learned Jedi values and skills, but the chances of them getting into trouble before it was the time to would’ve gone way up, and that part about familial care-or, essentially, a foundation of support alluded to in the book (and now this video) is just as vital. A physical footing, and also a MENTAL footing, was important. They clearly see this. It’s only made more valid by the fact that the Jedi were on the run. Besides, Obi-Wan and Yoda TRIED to take on Vader and Sidious themselves. They mostly failed.

@@harrambou9468 I'm reminded of what Sidious said to Vader shortly after Yoda started training Luke: "There is a great disturbance in the Force. We have a new enemy....I have no doubt that this boy is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker....He could destroy us....The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi." So it's possible Yoda decided against training Luke and Leia as children to protect them from being detected by Sidious' far-reaching Force sensibilities, and from being subsequently hunted down and killed by the Empire. But if Sidious is that all-powerful, then why ever train them *at all?* As long as that question remains unanswered, the logic of Yoda's decision remains deserving of scrutiny.

Yoda was an awful grand master, yes he learned, and the cost of his lesson was the clone wars, the fall of the jedi and the republic.

Prior to the events of Crucible, the second most powerful Jedi of Luke's era and most likely All Time was Jacen Solo. Or possibly Jaina if you don't count his continued growth as Caedus while she desperately struggled to try to catch up (and compensated the difference with unorthodox tactics and attacking an injured sith) Or if you count the growth she should have experienced in the Sword of the Jedi series we never got because Disney are foul.

Just a silly comment from only reading the video title. Of course Yoda forbade Obi-Wan from teaching Anakin as child. Anakin wasn't alive when Obi-Wan was a child! 🤣 I'll see myself out. lmao

I love your analysis! The jedi failed Anakin. He didn't fit into their dogmatic, rigid system. Obiwan could have saved his Anakin's mom, but he dismissed his padawan's dreams as trivial, unimportant. He had more important priorities. That was the turning poiny for Annakin think. of course by the time Annakin got there it was too late. His mom died in his arms, and he killed all the Tuskan raiders, men, women, and children in a dark side act of revenge in grief, because they had kidnapped his mother. I think that is when Obiwan started to lose faith in Obiwan and the Jedi and turn increasingly to Palpatine for comfort. Palpatine showed him sympathy about his mother's death and what seemed like love, but he really had evil darkside motives to recruit him as an apprentice. But Anakin got more affirmation from Palpitine that he ever got from the Jedi unfortunately who had no idea how to express love or help traumatized individuals like Anakin within their rigid system.

With his decision to allow the Skywalker twins to choose their destiny on their own, and what he saw during his visions it's clear Yoda understood why the order failed in the first place. But that's a discussion for a different video what Yoda did was actually for the best had Luke and Leia been trained from birth exactly how the clone Wars era Jedi had been it'd of doomed the galaxy. There were thousands of Jedi and Sidious killed them as easily as one would call another, and Yoda understood that for the Jedi to survive a new way was needed.

Very good. I like your take. Marvelous in fact. Well done my fellow Jedi in the real world . Oh yes we do exist you naysayers. My powers. Have strengthened at great cost to myself and my life. But at least it gave me enough foresight not to even consider the jab...... Laugh if you want but I have paid a heavy price. I may be grey but that is the way of things........ Nothing is black or white. All is somewhere between........

Yoda is the main reason we're in this mess to begin with. All these rules and restrictions were half baked at best. How are you gonna refrain from an attachment to the mentor who's trained you all the way to adulthood? Not to mention the council just let qui gon die and then tried their best to do the same to obi wan as well.

Jedi is naturally against Obsession. Being attach is a part of life. They want their members to be attached to the Jedi Order within reasons of course

The jedi still being weak as usual & not training people in the force from childhood who need it such as luke & his sister 😆, the jedi of old never learn that is why im glad that grandmaster Luke changes all that in his new order.
