When it comes to gaming, Star Wars fatigue is a myth. Disney has barely even used this IP in the gaming world since buying it 12 years ago, especially when compared to how LucasArts used to use it. There are still numerous genres that haven’t gotten a single new Star Wars entry, like strategy or racing. It’s been almost 20 years since the last Star Wars strategy game. I feel similarly about open world. People aren’t tired of open worlds, they’re just tired of worlds that can do nothing but hand you a giant list of chores.
Great video. I am conflicted on purchasing this game. I enjoy the universe but couldn't agree more on the fatigue that Disney has brought to the Franchise. I will definitely wait until I see game reviews post launch and hopefully a solid update or two to help with the remaining issues before I decide to open up my wallet. Most of the cosmetics are unlockables, remember those, you get them by playing not paying? The Han and lando based cosmetics of course are paid, they are just a bonus… and kinda break canon. The only things they are “locking” are just extra stuff you don’t need for the full base story anyways.
@@jbway86 Sure, if you want some kind of gameplay depth to the game, and definitely for the amount of money they are charging for the editions. The game has the same depth, or less, based on the previews, than many indie games, in terms of in-game mechanics. Other reviewers are right to compare this game to early Uncharted games. It's very pretty in terms of its environment and weather effects, but it isn't very deep and I wouldn't pay half of what they are charging for it, personally. It just looks too shallow gameplay-wise. At the same time, maybe some people wanted a more simplistic game, and for them, this game will have succeeded. Not sure anyway why you are asking me if it is wrong. I literally said "for me" which is a subjective opinion, so of course I think it is wrong. The game is too simplistic for me. Obviously anyone else would decide for themselves.

The moolah will be spent on Wukong, Space Marine 2, Astrobot and the physical versions of Allan Wake II and Starship Troopers, at least that's what I intend to do for the time being. And also remains to be seen whether the Silent Hill 2 remake devs rectify the character designs or into the dumpster if not! Anyway, sorry Outlaws!
Does she have "force punch" because when I see her punch there's like this effect happening during the connect, where it's not touching but more like it's a force connecting instead of her actual fist physically?

I hope it IS like Divisons loot system. Just a bit more simplified.. I want to be able to to buy different blasters or make different blasters, rifles etc. Buy different outfits, grenades etc. I don’t want to be stuck with the same blaster just being able to switch between burst and single.. to me that be extremely boring especially, in a world game like this..

If a gaming company is going to be this, greedy with the pricing, they better deliver in quality and content, at this rate it should be twice as good as their last $65 game.

Too much whining and complaining about this game. Nobody is forced to pre-order or buy it. With this current generation of games it's best to wait until the first patches and bug fixes are released...then buy the game and judge it. Making 100 videos whining about a game unreleased gets old
I find a completely unfair and disrespectful to hold this game in a different light than other open world games. This is the first open world, Star Wars game and from everyone that has played it has nothing but good things to say about it. This video is so generic it tells you absolutely nothing, that is already obvious with most open world games complete trash video
I agree that this is not the best of videos, but the idea that everyone who’s played it has only good things to say is just wrong. I’ve seen numerous impressions from people who’ve played, and while they didn’t trash it, they all had similar concerns to those in this video. BattlefrontUpdates, Luke Stephens, and Defend the House are a few examples.
I will likely never buy this game. It just does not interest me at all. If it allowed me to create a custom character and choose my class/playstyle I might have considered it. But I’m tired of Star wars games having set characters with set personalities. What I want is a new single player Kotor experience. A game where I get to make my character, choose who I want to be, choose my class, has a great cast of companions that I can build a relationship with and so on. My perfect Star Wars game would be ….. Survivor combat, physics and game engine. Baldurs Gate 3 attention to detail and rpg mechanics, storytelling, companions and maturity. But Disney sucks c**k so we’ll never in our lifetimes get another masterpiece Star Wars game, not saying there won’t be good or even great games but nothing truly timeless like Kotor 1-2.
I got no worries. My only worries is about people that like to negative and trash talk before they have played the finish product. This happens a lot these days plus dont forget there is no perfect game and there will not in the future because nothing is perfect.
Should've been a Han Solo game, if so I would've tried to look past the outdated gameplay mechanics and below average graphics for a AAA title. The game does not appeal to me in this guise.
This is a Frankensteins monster of all of Ubisofts IP's and it shows..the game is gonna have absolutely no identity. It's just Star Cell: Outlaw's Cree-Cry. It has absolutely no identity of its own..also, Star Wars is nowhere near the loved franchise it was
I didn't realize this was the Division devs. All interest lost, officially. The Division was boring slop as far as its narrative. I don't buy that their writers suddenly gained any amount of talent just because they're working on a Star Wars game.
90% of this could apply to every game made by a AAA publisher today. It is generic concerns voiced with video for the sake of content revenue. Not defending SWO or anything, just the concerns are generic slap onto 90% of games type of crap. Seriously, try it out. Distill their generic “concern” and slap it onto Elden Ring or Starfield or Metaphor Re: fantazio. I sure hope Elden Ring doesn’t “play it too safe” I sure hope the combat in Starfield doesn;t get too boring I sure hope Metaphor Re Fantazio finds a way to be different than many other AAA Jrpgs we have played before. FFS I am amazed at how this video says nothing, like literally nothing.
I'm sorry but some of these criticism are rather silly. Particularly complaints about having downloadable content or additional content for extra editions. ALL publishers, not just Ubisoft, have been doing this for DECADES. This is no different than any other game having a Deluxe Edition or Ultimate Edition or buying season passes. That's like complaining about not being able to play as Harley Quinn in the Arkham games. Or extra maps. You want it, then buy the bigger edition. Gamers have been doing it for years. Jabba the Hutt is in the game. Players will see him. Players will take missions from him. Anyone saying anything different is purposely misleading.
I feel this game will be a let down. They will ruin, what should be the best starwars game in recent years.. I can almost guarantee that KOTOR 1-2 will be better than this.. and then that game you can find different weapons, outfits, etc. they are going to play it safe and they’re gonna stick with the formula that they know works so it’s gonna be slightly boring. I can already tell..
