I have a question that I've been wondering for a long time. How did Maul go from a syndicate leader to a one-man show? We see him at the height of his career in Solo, but the next time we see him, 7ish years later in Rebels, he has absolutely no allies. What happened that caused Maul to abandon his criminal empire?
its more like he kept his distance and ruled from the shadows like darth plagues, I wouldn't be suprised if only qira and dryden vos knew about his existence, especially during the imperial era with palpatine in charge of everything
I wasn't able to find any source info that could directly answer your question...It's likely that Maul faced betrayals from within his organization as rivals saw opportunities to usurp his power or align themselves with the Empire to survive. After losing his criminal empire, Maul became increasingly obsessed with his personal vendetta against Obi-Wan Kenobi. This obsession led him to abandon any attempts to rebuild his power base, instead focusing solely on finding and killing Kenobi. His obsession drove him into isolation, as seen in Rebels, where he was alone and desperate for revenge. For that revenge, he seeks out the Sith Holocron, believing it will give him the means to destroy his enemies, particularly Kenobi. His encounter with the Bendu and his failure to manipulate the Ghost crew further isolates him, leaving him with no allies and only his obsession.
@@mjk9388 i doubt many people would go against him in his criminal empire I’d imagine him as the Vader of his empire You go against him or fail him you’re screwed
Been reading Plagueis and other books from pre Phantom Menace and I gotta say, I’m pretty sure it’s what Maul was meant for all along. Maul was never gonna have the alter ego of Sidious and certainly not Plagueis or Tenebrous. He was never gonna have that roll as the senator or the financier, but he was highly adept at combat and had been from an extremely young age. Couple that with the lessons in leadership and ruling his master no doubt gave him and you have someone that was practically ready made to be a crime lord. Even if Sidious kept Maul around he’d be the one to keep control over the crime syndicates, the one group that Palpatine’s empire couldn’t
The crimson dawn are extremely difficult to fight at the beginning, I don’t know about the Pykes, but the dudes in the black armor are so hard to shoot through their armor, no joke 8 shots for me to kill one.
I find it kinda ironic that Maul gets beaten back into the fold by Sidious, but he still makes a plan to lure Anakin and Obi Wan to Mandalore. Like dude you just got your ass beat by Sidious. And your going to defy him again
Honestly, Darth Maul's crimelord storyline in The Clone Wars is by far my favourite storyline in the show. It always has been my favourite storyline, ever since I was a kid. His striving and hunger for power was rivetting to watch. The fact he moved on from being the lord of Mandalore to lord of the Crimson Dawn has always been a new storyline I was excited by, but sadly, Lucasfilm have been incredibly lazy with it and haven't even bothered to continue it maturely. I have always wanted this story expanded beyond the Prequel era, and I hope this game will at least scratch that itch for me. Let's hope we get that Maul show someday - animated or live-action, I am happy either way!
Thank you for doing these videos in line with Star Wars Outlaws! I LOVE the lore in general, the way you tell the stories, and am so excited for Star Wars Outlaws so I can be in the Star Wars universe ^_^
You should all give the Qi'ra trilogy of comic book minseries: War of the Bounty Hunters, Crimson Reign, and Hidden Empire a read. They're really good.
I am amused by the 5 families reference as I am a member of the old Genovese family, literally. My great grandmother was first cousin to Vito Genovese and a number of my great uncles were in the life. I still have family in Sicily that are Black Hand. I myself went into law enforcement over 30 years ago.
Vader not killing Jabba just goes to show how far he had fallen from his past life as Anakin Skywalker. Tatooine was Jabba's throne world, he was the one who was enforcing slavery on the planet. He's the reason the Jedi couldn't just free Anakin's mother, meaning he's partially responsible for her death. Had she been freed, she would've never met the Lars family and been out in the wasteland for the Tusken raiders to kidnap and torture her to death. Sure, the Hutt council had an agreement with the Empire, but at that moment where the agreement had been broken, Vader killed every one of them BUT Jabba. He could've slain him, he had an excuse to, but he didn't.
Funny how this game is focusing around the Crimson Dawn...cause i was legit just having a conversation this weekend about how we need something on them and Maul. I kean we had thay awesome teaser at the end of Solo and then just nothing.
Grek Pak, Crimson Dawn comics, I just read these. Lol. Now I need to read the rest of the Vader comics. Ive gotta read the handmaiden thing thats happening there.
it's a shame barely anyone is going to experience this game first hand. Unfortunately I think the suits in corps have fully abandoned their humanity in the name of wallet milking
Real, shes such a interesting character, essentially woulda been Mauls apprentice if she had the force at all , she didnt die in the comics after the game so luckily still possible for a future story
Hi Allen, I see your cat is roaming around behind ya. Just a friendly reminder that domestic cats are a dangerous combination of invasive species and apex predator. Insure your cat is always under supervision when outside, or is kept in a contained environment. Stay safe! (You and your cat) Bonus!: Your cat’s life expectancy will considerably increase.
How we don't see planets with orbits tha greatly shift conditions especially planets that orbit ywo stars. I know star wars planets are known for being 1 feature even though we only see 1% of 1% of 1% of 1% of starwars planets .
How come patryarchies aren't seen as positive in any science or media at all. There was a video about standing against patriarchy in barbie. After all the time entire history of Barbie land being material.
Because it's the status quo, any movie showing nearly any government from any time period positively is showing patriarchy positively. The bible, the most popular book in the world is heavily pro patriarchy. Fox News, the most popular news network is pro patriarchy. It's already everywhere and a pro patriarchy story in Star Wars would completely betray it's themes of rebellion and oppression.
