I agree with your point that the fun comes from being able to relive the experience of opening a new toy. There are a bunch of crap fake-Lego GI Joe kits sold lately that surprisingly brought me back to my own childhood. The quality was so bad that I ended up gluing the pieces together, but it was a blast to spend 30 minutes as a kid again, putting together and placing the decals on a new GI Joe vehicle. Ots funny that I got more nostalgia from a $5 fake-Lego kit than I do opening a modern $40+ Classified figure.
C-3PO was my 1st figure when I was a kid. He piloted my Tie Fighter toy for a while until I got a Tie pilot. I found a vintage Tie Fighter for $20 recently & one of my vintage 3PO's is piloting it. Good times & great video

Not sure if you are aware, but the Retro Collection C-3PO has an unadvertised feature: Removable Limbs. My guess is that Hasbro plans on releasing the Removable Limbs C-3PO later, so they went ahead and made the original figure with removable limbs.
I just bought these on sale, break down was $7.50 each and I have all the originals to compare them too so I’m curious. I have the Jedi knight Luke and the head is very different, instead of painting the skin tone they made the plastic a skin tone.
Yep Tusken Raider always was unique by having hands with palms turned so he could hold his stick above his head like the scene where he attacks Luke. I do remember the picture in the back of the cards when they had the individual color square pics showed the Tusken holding the stick with one outstretched hand - might be what you’re remembering?
I have to vintage Ben Kenobi’s and they both had the arm bent out. It’s funny because when I opened the retro collection Ben I thought it was messed up until I pulled out my old figure. Great review and I love this collection!
It's wild looking back at things I had when I was a kid and realizing how different my perceptions were. I hope they keep making these for a long time.
This lineup is fantastic. Really hope we get some more vintage reissues. They did the bounty hunters. Maybe some more ROTJ figures? They could do ewoks in the two packs.
@@NeedlessThings great idea. The a few prequel waves would be great. Although the idea of having Jar Jar in Jabba's palace is pretty absurd. Shows how off the aesthetic from the prequels was to the originals. I'd also like to see toys that were never produced, like a slave Leia, fagrin, and some of the rebel pilots and imperial officers, etc... We got Tarkin but had to buy a board game to get him.
