The absence of development for the jedi temple destruction scene is the biggest lack in the movie. It would have been a great moment to show how cruel and twisted Anakin really was becoming. This game offers at least some more knowledge about it, and it's interesting to hear the comments of the other jedis in the temple. How they are first surprised, then angry at Anakin's betrayal, how they were all longing to test his powers. The prophecy that elevated him to the rank of hero since the first day must have frustrated some disciples of the order all along those years...
cutie patootie You know what the problem was ? Lucas never assumed the fact that he created some of the worst villains of movie History. He didn't want us to witness Anakin's gruesome deeds. Even in the game, when we explore the temple we don't see the famous "child-slaughter" scene.
Marc CLMN I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but video games always shy away from killing children to the point where there aren't even any kids around at all (i.e. GTA)
cutie patootie There is a scene in Revenge of the Sith (the movie) where Anakin ignites his lightsaber to slaughter padawan younglings. In the game of course, we don't get to play that scene ^^'
Cin Drallig is honestly one of the only Jedi in the Temple who had a chance of defeating Vader. He was Battlemaster of the Order and trained many notable Jedi, including Serra in this video. He had knowledge of and had trained in all 7 lightsaber forms. Also, he demonstrates in this battle that his strength in the Force was sufficient to block a Force push from Vader and even send a Force push at Vader that threw him out of the window. Drallig dies in battle, of course. The point I'm making is that Drallig giving Vader a good fight demonstrates his level of skill.
The holographic part in the video is very haunting. "Jedi should not know anger." "Jedi should not know hatred." "Jedi should not know love. Only peace." Well, now that is an irony when it comes to Anakin.
Jedi principles are anti-human and disconnected from what it is to be a living, sentient being. How can you ask someone to feel absolutely nothing?! You want people to bury everything, and refuse to deal with the reality that living IS feeling. By refusing to face your emotions and cope with them, you decide to ignore them and act as if they dont exist. That is a recipe for disaster. Repressed emotions can resurface violently, out of many different types of situations, and as such, bring a brutal turn to the Dark Side. That is the failure of the Jedi, they refused to see that their teachings are partly responsible for people turning to the Dark Side, and they refused to adapt their dogmatic teachings. Understanding the reality of having emotions is a much better way to find a middle ground. If you understand your emotions and your struggles, you can better balance them with logic and reason.
+narutofire332 The Jedi believe in only destroying an enemy when there is no other choice. Obi Wan cut off Anakins arms and Legs, not to kill him. But to neutralize him, and bring him to Yoda. Read the books, some great info in those
Two cool things about this level. First is that it uses battle music from Knights of the Old Republic 2 during the Cin Drallig fight. Second is that the training holograms are reciting the Jedi Code from KOTOR 1 and if you destroy them they get corrupted and start reciting the Sith Code.
I remember reading that sometime when the creators were making this duel, originally the player would be fighting Cin Drallig and Serra Keto at the same time! That would've been interesting to see....
+Team 'Murica Indeed. The voice actor is called Tom Kane, you should check out his career regarding Star Wars. Even in this game he did the roles for Yoda, ofc Cin Drallig, Neimoidian Guard, Neimoidian Brute and Jedi Leader. He's also Yoda in pretty much every SW video game and SW: The Clone Wars series (and the narrator in that series). I also remember him as Cpt. Talbot from SW: Republic Commando. Cool voice actor
This does prove a point. Cin Dralig was the closest to taking down Anakin. It is my personal belief that had he and Shaak Ti teamed up, they could've taken him down.
Hmm.. I don't really like the fact that they make it look like Anakin is so content with killing all these jedi in the game. In reality, he was completely heartbroken from doing this, he even cries afterwards. But he felt he had to, to save Padmé, who he loved more than anything. I love how in the movie, they make it obvious that betraying and killing the jedi, and slaughtering the Separatists was emotionally devastating for him to do, but his love for Padmé drove him to do it. A state of absolute confusion, and a point of no-return after he aided in killing Windu.
Thomas Parkin wrong. He was heartbroken for killing his old friends and the people he grew up with. He was mispleased with the jedi council, but he did not hate them.
@J10005 And that is why we need more of that, perhaps a rival of Anakin and a friend of Barriss. At least she had more to do, which is more than I can say for some of the lesser known characters that are part of the Jedi Order. When I say consistently written, I mean that it sticks true to her character. Ahsoka was never once consistent and was never more than creator's pet.
I really like how this game delivered on that sadistic Vader energy that the movie didn't have. Not saying it should have though. It's clear Anakin didn't take pleasure in destroying the Jedi Order. But in the game, it's like he's been dreaming of this day.
Perhaps shes a descendant of satele. Maybe anakins ancestors were her enemies so it is destined for them to fight in the jedi temple. Friends turned enemies.
@@DoggBluesOfficial how would we know that? Maybe we don't know everything yet. Remember Rey is a force sensitive but she isnt the first. But nevertheless its just a theory which may or may not come to pass
+LC12K _ At the time the game had been finished, the developers didn't have access to John Williams' score for Episode III so they included some tracks off of the KOTOR II soundtrack.
@@magnusgrant4146 they used the Nar Shaddaa and Korriban combat themes for the Drallig fight They used the Dxun combat theme for the cutscene where Anakin crushes Serra with a pillar.
This would've definitely been interesting to see in the movie. But maybe it would've been too out place. They really didn't show what was going on in the Temple, other than Anakin igniting his saber in front of the younglings. Hey, what a great time for another spin-off! Show us a whole movie about the 501st legion and Anakin massacring the Jedi Temple. Now that's a movie I'd go see :D
+1996optimus The force needs living tissue to work for someone who's force-sensitive. Since Vader's arms and legs are prosthetic, force lightning would only hurt himself more than his opponents.
Makes sense that Nick Gillard’s character would have the sickest moves. I love when he does the multiple lightsaber strikes and he’s like a blur. I always thought that was Freaking awesome as a kid and still do today
I love this game! I remember the first time I played this level, me and Drallig both died at the same time. It didn't count as a win, but it was funny to watch us both drop dead at the exact same second XD
I've been looking for a soundtrack or two. I was wondering do you know the soundtrack for the first part of the Anakin Vs. Mace Windu battle? I've been looking through movie soundtracks and then I tried The Old Republic ones (not all of them) but I couldn't find it. I hate to ask again it's just I've been looking for about 4 months now lol
If you mean this music 3:30 I am not sure of the track's name, but it is from the game Knights of the Old Republic. Search Knights of the Old Republic soundtrack on RU-vid and you'll find it.
Yeah I gotcha. X and O. Though I'd like to add that you have to upgrade your force powers / skills so you can do it, I guess. I cannot remember anymore how to unlock it, as I've had max powers for years. :)
I wish Lucas kept the extended cut showing the total destruction of the temple, and its masters. Showing the hopelessness of the situation of the Jedi and Anakin's madness exposed entirely. We got a scene with him implying he killed kids but that's it.
Well, I do agree. It's just that ROTS final cut is about 2 hours long, and you can't really fit everything in a 2-hour movie. ''Kill your darlings'', as they say. I've heard there is an extended version that is roughly 4 hours long, that'd be interesting to see, especially if all the scenes would be finished. I think leaving out the actual killing of the younglings was not shown because of age ratings. At least partially.
how do you do the move at 0:33? Btw, you rock at this game! I wish I could duel you. Who's your preferred duelist? Mine is Anakin, with Force Lightning
@MastaKilla63: The music in a lot of "Star Wars" games tends to use multiple tracks of different soundtracks, each one usually a segment. My advice? Listen to each OST over and over, until you find a match.
Yeah but we meant the ones that were not in the movie. Well of course Anakin gets hit the way he does in the movie. Logical. But we were talking about other boss fights here.
I have no idea really. That'd be cool though. :) But most likely they're planning on new games. The games I'd want are Battlefront 3 and Republic Commando 2. Oh yeah, and the 3rd Force Unleashed could be awesome too.
man i remeber my youngerself having a hard time beating general grievous, the levelwhen the clones turn on you on Utapu, the mustafar level and the one when you return to the jedi temple. Beacuse i didnt use force heal or any combos like at all.
Another lesson which is a part of being One With The Force is this; How To Become One W/ Tai Ching Pek Kwar (Monkey Kung Fu) so says Tom Kane as Monkey Fist from Kim Possible and Cin Drallig from Star Wars
cin drallig was the battlemaster of the order who trained thousands of jedi in lightsaber combat he is a huge part of the order try fighting him on the hardest difficulty on the game he will be very hard to defeat
If this is how Anakin killed both Jedi I could believe. Anakin's skills are heavily questioned by everyone. I know he is not the best, and as Vader his skills increased a bit, but more to do with mind games though.
