This show looks doooope. I love the idea of seeing core world suburbia. Of course it’s a thing that would exist in the galaxy, but we’ve never seen it onscreen before. The amblin vibes in this are impeccable. Can’t wait!

It's a Captain EO origin story as a kid. I have a bunch of receipts and ideas, but most importantly: There's Fuzzball from Captain EO at 1:08 of the trailer.

@@Ems-morningside00 I kinda thought it was just Fuzzball, but the more I try to match up the characters, the more certain I am this is like, youngling MJ and his Goonies crew. I think this is how DIsney officially makes Captain EO Star Wars canon. They can even bring it back to Disneyland to sell a bunch of merch, because I doubt they're selling shirts that say ' The pOoOowEeEr of mAAaaaannnNnY" . lol

@@joelvinson You are right, I went back to watch the captain EO video after I wrote the first comment. I initially thought Hooter would be connected to the young Ortolan (as in the same species) but on watching EO again now after decades, there are differences. However, I saw some people speculate online that Hooter could be explained as a related alien species. Guess we just have to wait and see... either way, I am so happy to see adorable fuzzball. Fuzzball was my fav as a kid.

I've been mentioning in a bunch of comment sections how much I loved my Fuzzball plushie and how his tail made it easy for me as a kid to walk around with him perched on my shoulder. The other things I've noticed was someone on Twitter/X mentioning that the Michael Jackson estate coincidentally posted behind the scenes photos of the making of Captain EO on the day of the reveal trailer, the robot in this has a peg leg like Major Domo, and one of the D23 presenters had on a Captain EO rainbow shirt. I can't confirm 2/3 of these, but if they're all true? I am 1000% convinced Jedis are gonna rule the galaxy with the power of HEE HEE!'s.

I'm always ready to watch an aspect of Star Wars we've never seen before. We've never seen suburban Star Wars featuring the 'middle-class' citizens of a planet. All we've ever seen in Star Wars is the very rich and the very poor in society. These kids remind me of myself when I was their age many decades ago. I love this.

Star Wars Goonies sounds fun to me. Just hope that it isn’t too cheesy childish and instead is more nostalgic. I don’t expect to be fully for adults if they can pull off it being for kids and adults both I’d be very very happy.

It is different. Star Wars has always focused on the big picture. This apparently focuses on a much smaller view. And as for it being a Jedi temple? A kid's wish fullfillment, perhaps.

I liked it..maybe the suburbs are on Coruscant, but we need more context here, but yes, that part didn´t feel very "Star Warsey". Aside from that, it looked like a fun Spielbergian 80s nostalgic experience, and I liked that alot. Seemed fresh and different, and by god SW needs a shot of something fresh!

The suburban setting was not as off-putting for me, and the score at least in this trailer was very charming and nostalgic. I'm in...But I just love Star Wars (except one film 😬)
