I had no idea they tied this game into the lore all these years ago with Ulic Cal Droma before they even mentioned him in KOTOR. Star Wars games used to be good
@@CheeseOfMasters They did a few years ago so they may be out of print and hard to find because marvel stocks these comics horrendously. They’re so popular yet never have enough for everyone. I was lucky to get the original paper backs 2 years ago for very low prices of eBay so I got lucky. Hope you got them. The Legacy comic books are my favourite part of the EU. Besides the clone wars comics and KOTOR games.
@@stephen8805 Yeah I recently got the last Legacy book, with Darth Wredd and it felt really somber at the end, like the end of all of Star Wars. When they reprint those again I'm so gonna buy the other 3.
@@josephbanet5410 By the original actors who portrayed these characters in the original movies they appeared in. Obi Wan was not voiced by McGregor in the game, though at least in French, he was voiced by the original voice actor of McGregor like all other characters.
Just want to say I miss the non TCW clone voices, the OG voices from the movies, the voices in this game and the ones from the 2003 show sound sooooo much better to me than TCW ones
In canon at the time, they didn’t finish production of normal starfighters like v wings yet this early into the war. They didn’t even have Venators. They only had Acclamators and LAAT gunships. This game takes place pretty much just after Geonosis. So it makes sense.
@@rcbmmines4579 Well, in all honesty, when the game came out and the Clone Wars cartoon as well (the real cartoon by Gennady), Acclamators were all we had. We didn't even know what aircraft to aircraft fighter the Grand Army were using. The ones in the cartoon I just assumed Gennady made up.
I get what you're saying but being a fan of the prequels in 2022 has its perks too. People back then were *constantly* shitting on the prequels, but today they are more accepted
The scene were Anakin meets the force ghost/recording of Kaldroma in the temple is almost similar to Luke and the Dark Cave. Anakin saying he isnt afraid when kaldroma's appearance from the effects of the dark reaper is like Luke seeing his face under Vader's helmet.
@@backslash4oneOI doubt it's a holocron, given that Ulic died and didn't even leave behind a body, so I'm not sure where they (presumably Nomi, Vima and Sylvar) would've gotten a fully functional holocron of Ulic having the specific info needed - plus he seems to talk to you during the final battle, it could be just Anakin remembering what he was told but some of the things said seem too situational for that. Although it definitely does look like a holocron, idk what they were going for, redemption had to be out by then
Anakin's voice sounds great, as does Made Windu's and Dooku's. Yoda keeps having voice cracks, but it's okay. Obi-Wan... He's just... Ben... What happened to your voice?
I remembered going inside of GameStop and seeing the Clone Wars cover and thought I should definitely get it. I had so much fun playing it and Burnout Dominator as a kid. This game was worth the 22$ my dad spent...
Just recently went back playing it. Honestly while the cut scenes don't live up this was the Clone Wars cannon Star Wars should have approached on going for. It shows Anakin wih a fallen Jedi showing his path being similar to Ule cal droma (if that's how its spelled)...
I played this game, and I really enjoyed it. But only more recently have I discovered just how significant in the Star Wars universe the character of Ulic Qel-Droma really is! He's one of the greatest examples of Fallen Jedi, and he was facing off against a Jedi turned Sith who many regard as the undisputed greatest Lightsaber Duelist of all time: Exar Kun!
I was really surprised that at the time they managed to link the storyline of the 1990s Tales of the Jedi Comics with the new prequel trilogy. This is why I love Legends so much.

Same. I like how the clones are all plain white too, and I don't like how everything post 2005 gave the separatists a blue colour scheme, they looked much cooler as a mish mash imo.
When I bought this game on Amazon many years ago I actually thought I was getting Starwars Battlefront. I was disapointed, however thoroughly enjoyed it. Money well spent.
I love how early this game came out, right in correlation with Ep2 so the developers had no idea that the Jedi Delta Starfighters weren't the only craft the GAR used. This game even predated the V-19 torrent fighter made popular in the micro series.

Mace is presumably being voiced by Terrence Carson, who would later play him in TCW. Anakin sounds alright, similar to his 2D Clone Wars appearance. Dooku has Corey Burton, otherwise known as the best Christopher Lee impersonator on Earth. Obi-Wan... what the fuck man.
Shame they never adapted the Dark Reaper storyline into the TV series. Especially since it provides the perfect opportunity to link the 'Tales of the Jedi' era into canon.
10:15 Anakin and Obi-Wan didn't report in to Windu and Yoda potentially costing the republic thousands of credits in resources in preparation to move the fleets to Rhen Var just so that they could make a dramatic entrance
It’s canon to Legends which is more than enough. I don’t want this, the 2003 series, the Dark Horse comics, the Republic Commandos etc. to be tainted by being in the same continuity as the sequel trilogy.
Luke Foord yeah canon has plenty of good stuff too. Even though it retcons plenty of stuff in Legends I still enjoy and love Filoni’s show. Though I would prefer if it stayed out of Legends continuity. I’m good with having two different SW canons. Also, the Mandalorian was actually really good and made the canon Mandos more loke Legends.
If that many Jedi showed up like they showed in the beginning the first battle of Geonosis would’ve been a walk in the park having that many Jedi and a full army of clone troopers
There were that many Jedi on Geonosis, though? That was around 200+ Jedi starfighters, and there were a couple of hundred Jedi present during the first battle of Geonosis, so it checks out.
Man I played the hell out of that game as a kid the dark reaper was pretty much impossible i only beat the final boss twice that's how hard it was i would like this game to come to Xbox one and PS4
All Jedi had maroon Starfighters at the beginning of the Clone Wars, it wasn't until the later Eta-2 Starfighters that they began to personalise them with different colours
Hard game, but really good. Lots of good memories but the fear would be fuckin high when you almost die from impossible odds and you survive. Shit was great as a little kid man, still is today.
When I played this when I was young it was very difficult because I’ve accidentally set the levels to Jedi Master mode and I completed it. And got to say very very hard
Despite my disdain and contempt of Mace Windu as a character, he seems to be much more likeable here surprisingly enough. So strange to see him be so nice to Anakin here.
@3:07, hahahahahaha, the perfect "it was at this moment he knew, he f****d up" meme. One thing which bugs me is the number of Jedi Fighters they show in some scenes. Clones never flew jedi fighters, nor did many Jedi accompany a mission
I know I'm a couple years late, but if Cody, and any other named commanders/captains, were there, then they would just look the exact same as those yellow marked commanders. This takes place very shortly after Geonosis and thus before any clones started to customize their armor, so all clone officers still used the based color coded ranking system.
I think there should be like a prequel of TCW or a bit after battle of geonosis that shows the erlier days of the clone wars where anakin is still a padawan and kenobi was his mullet where he meets rex or something and shows this side of war a bit more, mace is still hopefull of anakin and show how hard was anakin becoming, also some or the marige struggles between anakin and padme, we bearly had that in the show so it could be nice if it was a tales of the jedi episode or 3 part arc
