Man I don't know why but love this version of the force unleashed better. The force attacks look stronger the QTE's are more challenging and the tiny story differences make more sense it's just better than the ps3/xbox counterparts. I really think this is how star wars should do future action games...
I remember the Emperor giving me a lot of shit on the last QTE before the last cutscene triggers. Like, for only a very split second, the button command prompt came up, and the game just didn't let me press it fast enough. It frustrated me so much. Though quite honestly, I think this is the more definitive version compared to its HD counterparts.
I love the music during 0:22. (Starkiller walks in with his theme playing) Vader: No. (pushes him into a wall and imperial march briefly plays) Starkiller: Yes. (gets up, epic music plays as he beats Vader down)
the look on kotahs face before he runs into the ship was awesome.he really didn't want starkiller to die.and the music was time perfectly.that and when starkiller is walking towards emperor and screams Noooooo.gives me chills every time.do you agree?
I think it works way better having the ship escape before the explosion rather than after in the other versions. It makes the sacrifice way more impactful, plus Kota's sad face is way more painful to watch :(
My favorite thing about the duel with Vader is how his suit gradually comes apart as you fight him where at first his boot comes off then part of his shoulder armor is missing then near the end his helmet is broken off
Took me forever to beat the emperor. p.s its so silly how the emperor says kill darth vader he is useless now...and then at the very end vader doesn't care at all
I don't understand why Sidious didn't use a lightsaber in the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC versions of this game. I know he's too powerful to need one, but with one (or two) makes a great touch.
I think they probably did it to appease original trilogy fanboys. But they should have given him a slightly wider variety of Force-based attacks instead of having him keep bringing his guards in to get slaughtered.
@@realjoemavro In general, the PS2 version seemed to acknowledge the prequels way more. While the HD versions were stuck trying to emulate the original trilogy and not much else.
@@kaijuslayer3334 True, in the Wii/PS2 version, we see 501st Troopers on Kashyyk in the prologue, which makes sense because the Empire didn't stop using clones of Jango Fett until "Twenty years after we were created..." according to a retired Clone Trooper. If you listen carefully during gameplay, some of them even talk with really bad New Zealand accents that they don't use in the cutscenes as if someone at Krome Studios remembered that and had it added at the last minute.
This plot teaches how wrong Jedi teaching. Friends and someone to love always were bad in the eyes of the Jedi, leading to the dark side, but here it was the only thing that made him turn to the light side and not fall back to the dark. And repeating the same mistake with not killing the Sidius.
Did you know Emperor Palpatine was voiced by Sam Witwer who voiced Starkiller ? :) I think he did a fantastic job as the Emperor and i was like : Did he voice Palpatine ? Awesome ! :D The bossfight against Vader and the Emperor was fun and epic ! :D The ending was so great and Starkiller sacrificed himself to the save the day and the rebellion . The conversation between Juno and Rahm Kota was touching :)
3 good things about this version: Taking control of turrets with the Force, The Jedi Temple Levels, and a proper duel with Palpatine. 3 bad things about this version: Palpatine's voice sounds worse, the saber and force locks during boss battles took me out of the moment, and the lackluster level designs.
The sound quality for Palps does sound a tad worse in this version, but in the Wii version it sounds a bit better. I think the PS2 and the Wii versions both use a lot of different SFX for some reason.
I’m surprised one could complain about the level designs, if anything. They’re one of the advantages visually. They actually resemble what we see in the films. Whether they’re as interestingly designed is up for debate, but I feel the visual look is a important factor.
@@kaijuslayer3334 There are SOME level designs I like better in this version. The first trip to Raxus Prime has much better atmosphere than in the PS3/XB360 version, the Kashyyk prologue is on par with the PS3/XB360 and so are the Tie Construction Yard, Death Star, and Jedi Temple levels, but both trips to Felucia, the 2nd trip Kashyyk, and the 2nd trip to Raxus Prime are boring, in my opinion.
Yes, I did know that, after I finished the game back then. But the must've edited his voice quite a bit. He indeed did a great job, sounds good. Though I noticed it the 1st time already that I played, that he was voiced by someone else. But good anyways. The ending was truly epic. This is the light side ending, and I have to say this is much better. :)
If you guys are wondering why the emperors is so easy to kill it's because it's his first walk through. If you play the game again he is much harder and more powerful
amir Burke Actually, no. This is like my millionth walkthrough, played it several times :D Plus all my powers are maxed out. Maybe there's the reason for it being easy.
I don't know why but I remember playing this version on the Wii Not the port that exist I mean as in like, this exact version, but in the Wii Even the red and blue bars remind me of it
+mrsora16 Which one did you fight in the end? I personally fought against the Emperor when I first played it - and it certainly is nicer to get the ''light side'' ending on your first playthrough.
i actually got the light side ending because i don't like the emperor at all and i didn't know that it would result in a different ending because it was my first play though
This version of the force unleashed needs a remaster. HDR models, environments and effects, better physics interactions like the Xbox and PS3 versions but the PS2/Wii/Switch version is ultimately the better version of the force unleashed.
Yeah it'd be nice if they brought it to Steam on PC for example. This version will always be close to my heart cause it's the first TFU I played. I do however really like the PS3/Xbox versions so I can't really pick a favorite!
+Guillermo Adriano López Domínguez I, too, think it looks kinda like that! :D The ability's name is 'Dark Rage' and it increases damage for your lightsaber.
After you have fought Vader for the first time, you choose to fight either Vader again or the Emperor. That determines your ending. Fighting the Emperor gives you the light side ending, while killing Vader will give you the dark side ending.
