ET's Ash Crossan heads to 'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge' with J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Kelly Marie Tran, Keri Russell, Anthony Daniels and Naomi Ackie ahead of 'The Rise of Skywalker,' in theaters Dec. 20.
They probably meant Ben Skywalker in the title. Just like how Return of the Jedi actually meant Vader returning to the light side, not Luke. You can interpret two meanings
I finished the video but I can't recall Kelly Marie Tran being asked a question or answering one. Maybe just that little bit at the end where other casts referenced her as "most likely to.." Thanks to JJ Abrams for remembering she was also there because the interviewer seemed like she didn't.
@@Jerpavoo Then be relevant and have something relevant to say, and not bank on being Asian, to get attention. If your ideas suck or your character was poorly written in the previous movie, don't expect accolades. Simple.
@@Jerpavoo I'm glad you've been in the US for 40 years; I'm second generation and my parents came here about 35 years ago. This is comparing apples to oranges, though, in my opinion. The people who harassed Ms. Tran are horrible racist scum. We can agree on that. But sadly her character wasn't written with care and JJ had no clue how to flesh her out more. A blanket statement, as you've done, simply saying Asians aren't listened to because of this, makes no sense. It feels like you're upset about her character becoming irrelevant, but I wouldn't attribute that to racism. I do agree there needs to be more Asian writers (diverse writers in general) to be able to flesh out characters like Rose, so they aren't simply caricatures, like what happened to Finn.
Anyone else notice how they almost completely cut out Kelly Marie Tran's character in the last film? Not even sure why she's a part of these interviews... she was basically an extra with 1 tiny line. Good to see all of that character development going to good use... ... ... /sarcasm
@@breina1259 I think he had the hots for Rey but Rey didn't feel the same, Tran's character liked Finn but he didn't feel the same way, then he meets Lando's daughter at the end and since she's black, Disney thought that the two black characters should be together. >.
Everybody is asking where Adam is, but what about Mark Hamill!??! I feel so sorry for him, the way they treated him in these movies! He is a legend, and one of my movie childhood heroes. He deserved a better ending!
Oscar is aging like fine wine; his charisma is effortless, hahaha. I heard he was supposed to die in the first film and then they were like NAHHHHHH WE GOTTA KEEP HIM
Many people said the ending / ROS was bad but since 7, 8 was already bad, the movie makers did their best to make ep 9 better and it is really hard. For me, I felt like the ending was much better than GOT.
Yup I agree. In fact it could've been alot more better and epic. But this is already good enough.. not expecting anything more great because after the backlash of the last jedi.. Rise of skywalker is not bad. Is not good. But it was enjoyable. It's beautiful in it's own way.. it ain't easy to direct/pick up something after the major backlash of the last jedi..it could've been worse if it wasn't for JJ..
Il be honest the force awakens had potential But the last jedi ruined it!! Lukes character was off The casino scene was bad And the first order emperor was a huge let down Rise of skywalker was decent not bad not good but still decent enough to be watched il rank my opinion TFA > ROS > TLJ
Man, I hope we see this main trio again. Their press junkets were hilarious, and they have great chemistry together. I was so excited to finally have them together in TROS but I want to see more of that.
Would rather watch a movie dedicated to Reylo. Fanfic is better than what we got. The rest of the cast were sidelined and pointless. They even added two pointless female characters to the already underdeveloped cast. Finn could've been a interesting and new character (ex-trooper rallying troopers to go against the order, being force sensitive and possibly trained to be a jedi, etc.). They made Finn a gag character. A waste.
Idk why they introduced Naomi Ackie and Keri Russell's characters in the movie. Was Disney so against the idea of Poe and Finn being gay that they gave them each a new girlfriend to clearly tell us that they're straight?
@@buibuddha But why does everyone want Finn and Poe to be gay anyway? Lmfao there's no romantic chemistry between them. Do they just want a gay couple and are desperately trying to ship them or do they just think they just look cute together? 😂😂
AHAHAHAHA I ALSO THINKING THE SAME ABOUT HERE THAT TIME. Also like "nah you're just talking too much, you just ruined the sequels and just want to make more money with it 😒".
So true, he cannot tell an original story. There's no way to get emotionaly involved in any of he's caracters. A force awakens is a remake of a New Hope and his latest film cheapens the original films. All the events in return of the Jedi were for nothing. The empreror is back for some reason.
Spoiler: What i don't understand is when they were going down in the quick sand,Finn was about to say something to Rey(probably that he likes her?) After that scene Poe asked him during the rest of the movie at least 3 times what was he about to say and he never answered and the movie ended without us knowing what was on his mind...Also Finn kissed that thick japanese girl from the last movie and in this one he was keeping his distance from her. Something went horribly wrong with the script development of that love triangle. What is your opinion?
THANK YOU, that was annoying, wasn't it!? Will we never know what Finn was going to tell her!? Why did they put Finn in this situation (in general) with Rey in the three films? Why did they put Finn in this situation with Rey in THIS movie if nothing was gonna happen? Like...it seemed Finn was giving himself and the audience a little bit of hope to FinnRey as a relationship. And at the same time, they are natural friends...so that was really unnecessary and nothing was really explained. 🤷🏻♀️
@@basicbabe6977 I mean they do lol actors aren't pupputs were the directors control everything they do, they are free to make the characters who they are, also most of the actors admit to being the reason why the sequals were bad, i mean its just infused with current world drama but i can respect ur opinion. :)
@@fanfuse9992 yes the actors are free to make the characters their own, but generally speaking the directors and writers decide what happens with the characters. The actors don’t decide what their characters do. They only act, and I think they did a good job. That’s what I think, but I respect your opinion.
feel like this cast is taking shots at Ryan Johnson a lot of the time in this interview XD it was hard for JJ to wrap this saga cus of the shit state Ryan left it in XD
