I wish I started band earlier. My elementary school (K-6) only taught us recorders and ukulele. So we all sounded awful. I'm so grateful to start band in grade 7, I'm playing this song and love it!
I started this song in my band in 2019- I was 9 and apparently (according to my music teacher) we were great so I know that as a grade 7 you’ll be amazing 🤩
Who is Blurryface And why does he want me dead? snare has to play loud near the end but i see what you mean in beginning when its mp. Theres also 3 maybe 4-5 snare players i think in that band
oh i’m doing this arrangement for our spring concert. i’m a flute, and i can agree that the snares a little loud. we only have three snares though, and 34 kids in our band
Yeah I was in 6th grade for this. We played in 4/4 but it was WAYY faster. I played xylophone. It was graduation band. Haha, good times. I’m in 7th now lol
Mousey TR 4/4 time doesn’t mean it has to be slower they can go at the same pace in 4/4 or 2/4 and they are going at a slower tempo than the actual song
Do you guys realize that these are 6th graders? Normally kids start band in 5th or 6th. If you couldn't do this that early then you shouldn't be judging. Also don't hate the kids because it's whoever wrote the music's fault that this might be slow or have extra notes or whatever.
we're playing this song for our concert, and how do these 6th graders play better than my band?? also my old band director used a light saber to conduct too lol
I’m in fifth grade and this is very good for our age as people will always be judging you and your band if u mess up a little bit , but if it were then trying to try they could prob not even be able to make a sound . My first concert as an alto sax is on wedsday
i started band in fiftg grade close to the end of the 5th grade year now and iswitched from trombone to tuba player and im beast at tuba even though i switched like a month ago
As i am a percussionist im going to point out few things, firstly, the snare needs dynamics, i can here the base over the timpani, and the bass part should be around a mp-mf, and i dont know if this is just me but i can hear the glockenspiel(bells) very well around measure 37
Guys, I played this in 5th grade, it is written like this for some reason, slow and holding the notes out longer, it is not their fault, it is just how the song was written. And it is also in 4/4 time, not 2/4
At the part where he flutes have the melody, you can’t really hear them because the rest of the band is being so loud. Every band can be loud, but only a good band can be quiet
I’m in a sixth grade band and we don’t even have the sheet. But we did get the paper for “Souring through Ionian Skies” I play clarinet. 😊. My concert was like two weeks ago. Hope u do great. Maddy_Life
I got the music to this song on snare. It is the same music as this but the snare is bad on this one. He is constantly changing volume and missing notes. The conductor even signalled him to quiet down and he kept going.
This theme was arranged by Carr Strommen. Its a 4/4 time instead of the regular 2/4 and to me, is mainly for younger grades doing band. Since usually the actual theme is much too fast and difficult for those kind of bands.
Ok people listen I am in the 7 grade now but last year we did this and they did it right, it was not to slow buttttttt the brassneeds to be more “more” also the food woodwinds
We’re playing this for our concert ( 6th grade ) and this reminds me of my class because the snare drum player abram plays his drums so loudly that you can barely hear the band xD
My 6th grade band was horrible, its good this one wasnt, because seriously at all my concerts were just, me playing normal whist all the trumpets : REEEEEEEEEEEEE
