Strong Modest Mussorgsky Ballet of the unhatched chicks vibe. Possible a direct inspiration. But combined with grand, sweeping fanfares. Just a masterpiece.
Vader: "Asteroids do not concern me, commander. I want that ship, not excuses." Commander: "Yes, my lord, as long as it's your name on the insurance form!"
Palpatine: "You lost how many ships?!" *Vader, adjusting the band of the cape around his neck awkwardly:* "Uh... a handful of fighters, a few walkers, a Star Destroyer, and... about three more came out damaged when they sort of... collided." Palpatine: "And you caught those criminals, right?" Vader: "Well... yes... with a Bounty Hunter's help..." Palpatine: "So I have to pay for that too?!" Vader: "Also... there may have been some property damage at an independent mining facility... and I might have had something to do with it..." *Palpatine turns to his insurance broker, who is holding a clip-board and shaking his head at Palpatine with a "not-looking-good" look on his face:* "Bruh..."
Williams is a master. This whole track tells the story. Even without the movie it communicates fighting the empire and escaping into the dangerous asteroid field ending with temporary safety
they went too safe with the Force Awakens, but that was because this was the first Disney/Lucasfilm Star Wars movie, and with Rogue One and the Anthology films in general, I think it's a step in the Right Direction
@@Iunderstodthatreference "I thought not. It's not a story Disney would tell you. It's Star Wars Legends. Darth Plagueis was a Sith book of the EU, so well-written and excellently realized, it could use the fans, to generate... hype. It had such a depth of detail, it could even delay the sell-out... for months. The EU of the IP is a path to many stories some consider to be 'non-canon.' It became so great, the only thing fans had to worry about was, George selling the company, which, eventually, of course he did. But unfortunately... he trusted his proteges with everything he knew, and the apprentices stabbed him in the back. It's ironic. He thought the fans would turn on him, but not his friends."
Leia: What are you doing? You're not actually thinking of going into Asteroids? Han: They'll be crazy to follow us right? Leia: You don't have to do this to impress me 3PO: Sir the possibilitiy of successfully navigating an Asteroids is 3,720 to 1 Han: Never tell me the odds!
Leia: What are you doing? You're not actually going INTO an asteroid field? Han: They'll be crazy to follow us, wouldn't they? Leia: You don't have to do this to impress me 3PO: Sir the possibility of successfully navigating an asteroid field is approximately 3,720 to 1 Han: Never tell me the odds!
I love the Imperial March with all my heart, but I have to say that this piece is more emotional and inspiring than any. The crescendo starting at 2:57 gives me the tingles everytime.
howabout not. Disney can stop fucking up this beautiful franchise. Thats a great idea. Cause if the last the last jedi was anything to judge by, Solo is going to be ass
ETHOR productions I was right! This did play in the film during the Kessel Run. Also Solo was a great movie, they didn't fuck it up like The Last Jedi.
Good prediction. I saw I thought coming too. However Solo was an ok movie.... if you think that it's an alternate universe. Solo never loved anyone but himself in 4, but ben loved someone with all husband heart, and wasn't ever really in it for the money? That doesn't add up! I also highly dislike the fact that they made my favorite character, Lando, a Pansexual, so he gets turned on by a ducking droid! It was nice to see Maul in it though. I would be aprreciated a better way of getting the name Solo than just some officer giving it to him. Btw, how did kyra get out of the jail that she was put in during the escape? We get no reason, but she never bothered to look for Han then. Turns out she can do everything by herself. Pretty sure we don't need 4 STAR WARS EPISODES WHERE EVERYONE GIRL IS OP to let us know every future woman will be a Mary Sue. Enough of Kathleen Kennedy please. I want something where it's dofficult, and people have to actually do something for once and not have to look to a Mary Sue. And don't get me started on L-3. A droids rights activist is not wanted in Star Wars. Earthly politics are supposed to stay out of the franchise. We don't need any feminism, more than two genders (even though there are only 2), making MEN WHO WERE STRAIGHT IN THE OT PANSEXUAL, and I also don't like how we have another Rose character. "The enemy who wore that mask trying to steal the coaxium for a better cause" cliche. It's an ok movie, but the movie decisions made me want to scream in anger sometimes.
1:06 Han: I think we're in trouble. 3PO: If I may say so sir, I noticed earlier that the hyperdrive motivator has been damaged It's impossible to go into lightspeed! Han: We're in trouble.
With these classic soundtracks, you could close your eyes and know what was happening in the movie. Nowdays, music isn't as memorable and is too hidden in the background for my taste.
The traditional approach to film scoring is / was to fit the music to the scene, changing mood, tempo, rhythm, key, etc. to match the imagery. Whereas the modern approach (Hans Zimmer et al) is to write through the scene, as though the soundtrack is made up of songs with each cue maintaining the same rhythm mood, etc. throughout. This latter approach seems to suit modern filmmaking better, unfortunately. Danny Elfman's score for Justice League is old-school (listen the track 'Final Battle' for example) but is lost in the final film, buried beneath the sound effects.
I respectfully disagree, while old Star Wars had phenomenal music and a lot of new scores are iffy, we still have songs like Wonder Woman's theme or the Avengers theme
the climax of this song will always get me. not only does this piece perfectly capture the intensity and frantic of the chase in the movie, but it just captures the feel of star wars. An adventure of absolutely epic proportions with danger at every corner. Truly a modern epic
Pure, unadulterated, magic. Am I a thirty year old man, sitting on my back porch listening to this, pretending to pilot the Falcon? My trusty golden retriever beside me as Chewie, making pew pew noises as we dodge perilous asteroids, feeling like I’m 12 years old again? Why yes, yes I am.
When the good and classic part of this song happened during solo I was stoked!!! Was freaking epic and a great movie! Don’t listen to what anyone says, and don’t let the box office sales of TLJ deter you from seeing Solo it was amazing
@@aidan5307 it’s true! It simply felt like a good Star Wars movie to me. I really enjoyed it. And it’s a Ron Howard movie, which is probably why it has such a cool vibe
TESB is my favorite. And I love this scene! The chase. The dialogue. The music. Omg. I can’t help but to hear that “whurrrr whurrr whurrr” when the TIE Fighter gets clipped 🤘
I love how this asteroid theme captures the treacherous feeling, the danger, but the intensity and excitement of the moment of getting away. Very good theme. Before that, was great to have the imperial march musically chasing them.
Charles Bargone Disney didn't catch it like in the V (well, with a hole episode dedicated to it, I'm happy Lucas did a good job). If I remember well, in The Empire S-B, the Falcon did slow maneuvers with a far away camera. Disney chose a fast moving camera, they couldn't give it the grace it had in the trilogy.
One of my favourite compositions from the series. Fast, dramatic and still sends a shiver of nostalgia down my spine. I can just visualise the whole sequence in my mind just hearing this amazing score again. 🙌
3:30 very lyrical, the harp and then the gliss on the woodwinds gets me every time. The orchestration of Empire is every one bit as good as the composition.
I love how menacing the Imperial March is through this track. It really conveys just how large and dominant the Imperial Fleet is and how relentlessly it’s hunting our heroes
The Original trilogy is the best trilogy no questions asked. The Prequels had the best Memes but the OT has the better music. What with this, Binary sunset and Imperial March among others, I love this trilogy.
@@Wilma_Dickfit_huh The reasons though aren't. Even today, these reasons still remain a mystery for the uninitiated, but deep in the Galaxy, in the darkest night, a lone Jedi knows...
I was playing this in my car stereo when I got pulled over last month. Cop who pulled me over said "You must be a Star Wars fan?" I smiled and said "Proudly so." as I handed him my license and registration
