Bookhead714 This takes me back to the original Battlefront, using the cord to take down walkers as a 64v64 battle took place on the ground! Chaos man, of course I played as the Empire 99% of the time so I remember gunning down rebels as they run and shooting the those speeders out for he sky!
Those were good times weren't they? To me it wasn't normally Hoth in particular that triggers any memories, rather Tatooine for me, but that's only because it lead to more important memories at some point, it's kinda sad how it all becomes a memory end almost never to happen again, but sometimes wishes do come true.
"No one ever complained about the cold on Hoth. We never felt it. Even though we were blinded by blizzards, we could see the final end of the Rebellion in our blaster sights. Was it only a mirage? Perhaps. But on that day, on that planet, our blood ran hot with dreams of victory, melting the ice that stood in our way." - 501st Journal
@Zombefyer 2.0 "And then one year later, Darth Sidious was dead, Vader had been redeemed and slain, and the ragtag Alliance we believed we had all but extinguished now had us on the back foot. All because we underestimated some teddy bears on a forest moon and our glorious leader pushed his luck too far."
"Rogue Three. Copy Rogue Leader, Wedge, I lost my gunner. You'll have this shot. I'll cover for you. Set your harpoon, and follow me on the next pass. Coming around, Rogue Leader. Steady, Rogue Two. Activate Harpoon. Good shot, Janson. One more pass. Coming around, Wedge. Cable out. Let her go! Detach cable! Cable detached."
5:13 Thee way that the music gets even more frenetic and chaotic gives me goosebumps everytime. It awesomely represents the feelings of the rebels retreating from their trenchs while hoping they're not shot by the AT-ATs...
The first 38 seconds are pure gold. Letting the music tell the story does so much work in building the emotional weight of this scene. Two friends wishing each other good luck in preparation for the upcoming battle.
Hey man, those times still exist. They're just in your head, is all. For me, if I remember hard enough, I feel like I'm five years old again, playing Rogue Squadron on N64. Keep up the good work on your channel btw. You do cool stuff.
This takes me back to the original Battlefront, 64v64 chaos battles in my AT-AT gunning down rebels and shooting speeders out of the sky as we advanced and this song played! And you hear those sweet sweet words, “Another command post under Empire control!”
That's my favorite part too. I even remembered the Family Guy parody of this scene in which one of the Imperial AT-AT Walkers was wearing Crocs and I'm like "WTF!?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:20 Darth Vader : What is it, General? General Veers : My Lord, the fleet has moved out of lightspeed. ... Darth Vader : The Rebels are alerted to our presence. ... General Veers : He... he felt surprise was wiser... Darth Vader : He is as clumsy as he is stupid! ... General Veers : Yes, my Lord.
Darth Vader: General, prepare your Troopers for a surface attack Admiral Ozzel: Lord Vader, the fleet came out of hyperspace and we are preparing to-...." *Force choking* Darth Vader: You have failed me for the last time, Admiral. Commander Piett! Commander Piett: Yes, my Lord! Darth Vader: Better land your troops beyond the energy field, then deploy the fleet so nothing can get off the system, now you are in command, Admiral Piett" *Ozzel dies* Admiral Piett: "Thank you, my Lord"
Wow, this an amazing achievement in film scoring! The whole track, like every other track in any star wars soundtrack is extremely operatic full of opulent themes, different parts of the orchestra, string ostinatos and long sequences of tonality and variety. But this track is basically written to accompany the hopeful buildup to a fight, in it's hopeful brass, ostinate melodies to build up tension and militaristic percussion, and after that, a hopeless slaughter. A fight that cannot be won by the good guys. And that he represents in a very frightening way. He uses stinging, roaring, ripping brass. Hard hitting piano and string cords, creepy themes and atonal harmonies. It's extremely intense, but also eery. Still, it has the operatic star wars feel That's an achievement in composition, orchestration and conducting which I haven't seen that often! John Williams is truly a Composer to be rivalled only by a few of his pears, like Goldsmith, but duplicated by hardly anyone.
1:35 - 2:05 This is where Vader turn his chair around to the monitor and choke Admiral Ozzel. Lord Vader, the fleet has moved out of lightspeed and we're preparing to- uhh! Darth Vader: You have failed for the last time, Admiral. Captain Piett. Piett: Yes, Lord Vader. Darth Vader: Make ready to land our troops beyond their energy field, then deploy the fleet so that nothing that gets off the system. You are command now, Admiral Piett.
This is hands down the most underrated piece of star wars music next to cantina band 2 and lapti nek. all great pieces of music that we only hear fractions of in the films
I always thought The Battle over Coruscant can never be beaten but I am wrong. This is by far the best battle music in the entire franchise involving two opposing armies and their weapons, aside from Luke using his lightsaber to damage the AT-AT but this is overall the best. I have spoken.
