One question. You said against Oracle, you need to concentrate rines near min line. Is it not more def. if You put widowmine from factory and sweap startport with barracs instead?
I practised this build against the AI about 20 times and in only 2 days I got promoted to platinum! I've never been past gold in 1v1 since I started playing in 2013 haha. Your videos are really helpful, more SC players should watch them!
Funny how you mentioned the forklift thing, I'm an operator in shipping/receiving and I was replaced by robots essentially, its called a lights out factory, almost everything is automatic so they have no need to keep the lights on, also no need for heating/cooling(atleast not to the same degree as what humans need), among other things. They save so much money on the electric/gas bills that way, not to mention robots are usually more efficient then humans. So yea, they took my job :D

I've been at it for 6 months at 43. Starting to get the hang, and it takes less reflexes that makes me useless against a 13 year old playing Call of Duty.
Thanks PiG, this was hugely helpful! Been trying to learn this build off of ByuN replays, but I get so lost because he does everything at light speed! I've done ok with it, but this was so much help with getting the timings right. I've trimmed the fat off of what I was already doing and now I'm hitting the third or natural at almost 5mins every time. No more showing up way too early with no stim or waiting for stim to finish and showing up way too late with a shit-ton of units to greet you with violence. Thanks again for the tips! Cheers.

Is it weird that I have put in hundreds of hours studying Starcraft 2 strategy and learning build orders and practicing against AI, yet have only ever played like 10 matches against real people? I don't like to lose, but I don't like to make other people lose, either. So I'm stuck honing my skills for imaginary matches and living vicariously through RU-vid Starcraft players.
I don't think its weird at all. In fact, its how I usually spend most of my game time as well. I've only played the 5 required games for my original ladder placement against real people. Well, I play a good friend of mine in unranked matches when he's on, but for the most part I play the AI. I've only been playing for a short time (about 2 months of 5-10 games a night) so I realize I'm not equipped to play higher level games against people yet. So rather than getting frustrated and overwhelmed by losing non-stop online, I made a choice to enjoy my limited game time by learning my race and improving my builds and mechanics against the AI. Its helped me a lot and I get better everyday. I started against the easy AI and was getting beat, and had an APM of like 25. Now I'm easily beating the Harder AI on a regular basis and my APM is up around 125-130. I look at it as training. Its now kind of a hobby of mine. I'm not great by any stretch, but I'm a lot farther along than I would be if I just hopped on ladder and got destroyed over and over. I think I'm much better equipped to ladder now than I was. So for me, it was a good choice. GLHF
I did play 2v2 with a buddy for a while. Our whole strategy was for him to fly phoenix hallucinations over the back of enemy bases and I would Nydus worm into the mineral line. Ended up in Gold league.
This was me awhile ago. You just gotta force yourself through the anxiety of playing on ladder. It's way more interesting to play vs a human. Or find a practice buddy. For B/S/G, pm me and we can play together. I play random so u can practice vs any race.
It's weird cause I have no problem humiliating people on Modern Warfare, Battlefield, Smite, and other team multiplayer games, but SC2, Hearthstone, and a game called Scrolls, it's too intimate. I feel bad in Starcraft that the other person went to all that work to build a base and plan out strategy and then I come along and ruin their day.
Hi ! Have been promoted to the platinum league very easily only by practicing this BO thank you so much pig. But right now my opponents seem to have better macro and their rush come sooner and stronger. I can"t defend with my quick 2nd CC and my few marines. Don't really know how to handle those.
One quick thing about stutter stepping, the video shows an inefficient way to stutter step. It is better to instead of a-moving and clicking away. Instead press S to stop your army instead of a-moving. Right click away, S, right click away, S, right click away, S. Doing it with just 2 actions instead of 3 allows you to focus more on getting the perfect timing down on stutter steps.
Beginner's mistake: DON'T try this build in "training" mode or else your time stamps will get delayed and you'll be left scratching your head why you can't seem to approximate the same speed as in this video (yes, even in "stage 3" of training on faster speed). For instance, the first SCV gets out at 0:13 in normal mode while it's 0:18 in training mode, no matter how fast you click that command center at the start. I'll admit to having wasted two days trying to figure out what's wrong with my build until I noticed the small time lag in training despite it supposedly being like "the real thing".
That happened to me as well when I first started playing. If you want to practice against the AI with correct timestamps, then you need to make a custom game and add the AI manually.
interesting about the your opinions to follow up if i got terran and do the 2-1-1 I mix them by taking 2 barracks and an ebay or an barrack with a cc follow than 1 ebay and something like that what you think about that?
When adding your next 3 barracks, who info do you need to decide how many total reactors and tech labs to have? Based upon the opposing race, what info is necessary to decide the best composition of marines and marauders? As a beginner, this is the point at which I get bogged down a bit.
You can just always go 4 reactors 1 barracks all the time. At high levels the "standard" is 4 reactors 1 tech lab vs zerg/terran, 3 tech labs + 2 reactors vs Protoss
Bill Wagner marauders are too expensive in the early game. You want those high dps marines dropping all over in the mid game vs roach ravages with tanks at home. With your 6th 7th and 8th tax vs roach ravaged get 3 tech labs and concussive and then transition to lots of marauders in anticipation of ultras as well
1 more tech lab can be nice IF zerg goes roaches. Marauders are great vs protoss more because they themselves are armoured and meatier than marines which means no bonus damage taken from adepts AND they can absorb collossi and storm splash without getting turned into a fine red mist
I warn new players that this build is not completely safe to all ins meaning you need to monitor the zergs drone count with either a reaper or a scan to build bunkers if they are trying to kill you early
very true at plati-mond (high plat, low diamond), from my experience... atleast in TvZ. I really enjoy a 1/1/1 build for all matchups; with barracks+reactor, naked factory, and starport+techlab and armory. Pump marines hellions and push in time for raven to meet you at the zerg natural or 3rd. The hellbats and raven turret shreds zerglings and punishes heavy droning from greedy zerg. Just don't forget early double refinery otherwise you wont make timing.
No build in Starcraft is ever safe vs all-ins. You always need to scout and react to stuff that's happening. These Opening guides can't cover every option or they'd drag on for a very long time.
Terran is much more precise in build orders and openings. For other races it'll probably just be more "section guides" like my "how to take a 3rd in PvZ" daily combined with more guides on pro builds.
as winter likes to say "you're looking for shit that can kill you". If they have significantly less economy than you, their money has to have gone elsewhere, like into 20 zerglings or a sneaky gold base on the other side of the map. generally you should be careful of investing in economy unless you know your opponent is doing the same.
Okay. Against the best ai, it always has 2x as many units as me by the time I attack. and I'm following this to the tee, including the timing. I'm getting starport at 3:20 and sending off at about 5 min then rallying my barracks
Well, That would be a different build order. You barracks would be slightly later, you probably won't be able to expand immediately after the rax but you can get an earlier factory
Why a move instead of stop? Also I can imagine for a lot of people, click left side of the screen then a moving right side takes a lot longer cuz of the mouse movement.
15:37 You can a move the left side too, I feel the stop command is not ideal since it keeps the marines clumped up no matter what. But if you want to get better I'd suggest trying both out and seeing which works better
You can use either, A-move will usually tell your guys to actually move into attack range, but stop can work too. I think most pros use A-move. Let's see what some pros say: twitter.com/x5_PiG/status/854192104506925057
A move is definately better. there are going to be times when you should focusfire and you cant do that by move stop move stop. better do A move every time so you practice it to the highest lvl and will be able to abuse the advanteges of it.
I've lined up my custom game with this video probably 30 times now. Same map, same spawn location. I've tried setting the rally point of the CC to the exact same mineral patch you do, I've tried selecting the rightmost SCVs in the beginning and spreading them so they get to the rightmost mineral patches a bit faster, I've tried selecting every SCV that's going to build the gas or go to gas as they are on their way back to the mineral patch instead of selecting them on their way to return the mineral so that nothing gets wasted. No matter what, you always gather minerals faster than I do and end up having 300 minerals when your SCV hits the mineral patch at the natural before going to build the natural expand CC, and mine always has between 30 and 40 less. What can I do to increase my mining efficiency?
Aimos Yong Its a map in the Arcade section of SC2. Its the LotV Unit Tester. Really helpful tool for practicing splits. There are specific ones for splitting as well. This one is generally good for everything though.

Seems like this isn't the LotV Unit Tester - Can't find specific mode for splitting. Also, in PiG's video there are some "levels", which means some sort of auto adjustment of the gameplay.
Also there are obvious differences in the minimap section of the screen. So the question still stands - How do I do i get into that baneling mini game?? Thanks
What an honor, thanks for the reply and for all the awesome content in general, I'm loving this build! I'll take this chance to ask a very specific question if you have time: after I get out those 2 medivacs and move out with a drop, I'd like to get out 2 banshees to harass as quickly as possible, but I have some trouble managing addons (I don't want to switch the startport with the factory because I want tanks to defend, neither with the teched barrack because otherwise I'd have no more marauders, and if I build a new techlab I lose some time and end up with an unused addon because after 2 banshees I want to get back on a reactor to build medivacs, and I want my first new barracks on reactors too until maybe the 5th?). Do you have any suggestion on how to do this efficiently enough, or do you think I should just skip banshees?
TvP - Idle factort after the reactor for a lon gtime, Just make 1 or even 2 mines putr in mineralö line and its all good, wont waste any buildtime and delay anything and very cheap
