Everyone loved the Archon, but I loved that one Zealot who took those Banelings like a champ to cover the Probe. He was the absolute epitome of the phrase "MY LIFE FOR AIUR"

You have to see now the battle between artanis vs zeratul
WTF are you talking about kid? The probe had already initiated the pylon warp in BEFORE the banelings unburrowed. It wouldn't have mattered if they took the probe down.
Even after 7 years since the reveal, this cinematic trumps most others. As fresh and as spine-chilling as it has ever been. 2022, and yet nothing has come close to beating this as the best ever!
@@TheMialek360 O loooooooool I didnt even realise that until you said it. I am polish but my brain kinda just translated it to english I guess lmao xDD
It's the protoss trying to retake their homeworld. It's pretty easy to think how strongly humanity would feel about wanting to retake Earth if we were invaded and kicked out of it. There is so many great moments in here: 1:12 - the Zealot who tanks the 3 banelings to keep the pylon secure 1:34 - the archon merge, as someone else put it "the most nerd-chillingly awesome thing ever". If you grew up with starcraft this moment is something you'll never forget seeing on screen for the first time. 2:25 - Kaldalis refusing to give up even though he's the last one standing. His resolve is chilling and awesome. 2:35 - When that pylon finished I can't even describe how excited I was it was almost as awesome seeing the warp ins as it was seeing the archon merge.
@@LeiRaion And I love the last Protoss Warrior ready to fight against EVERY Zerg there in 2:27 .. when he show his blades, BRO that is the MOST badass scene I ever see.
@@berjbedrosian4225 i red it in the voiced of viva la dirt leque when they made the "op protoss ball" parody of gangnam style..... "two templar merging to one archon, and my archon toilet flushing everything....op protoss ball, eeeeey im crazy op op op,op protoss ball,'cause my build is so lazy op op op,op protoss ball, you got you vikings, your west marines and your marauders, you thin kyou're pretty ballin but im staigh up protoss ballin' (ok i forgot the rest of the lyrics)
This trailer is just pure action, the quality of CGI, music and absolute epicness just bring adrenaline into your blood every single time you watch it, and you don't even have to play the game.
The scene where the last Zealot stood is ground until Pylon completes and warped in reinforcement feels charged emotionally similar to the Endgame Scene of Captain America facing off Thanos until his Avenger reinforcements came
Damn its the end of 2021, just watched the recent GSL finals and got me all nostalgic about the game. SC2 literally defined my immediate adult years from graduating college in 2009, to going through medical school, residency and now just completing fellowship. I really hope they make SC3 for old timers like me.
Thanks for sharing this clip! Despite watching this trailer and the reveal so many years later, I still feel the intense emotions of what an epic tale SC2 told, and how excited fans were for LotV.
Sorry I'm a little late. This is the first time a see this video. In the "original" cinematic the Archon says Power Overwhelming, but after i see this video, now I know the reason for that frase is the guy alone screaming at 1:49. They added it after this reaction for sure.
I keep coming back to this video every few months. The shivers I get when the guy says “yes, yes, YESSS”, cuz every Starcraft fan watching this for the first time knew what was coming with the two archons and was hoping that blizzard would put it in the cinematic.
I love how the probe comes over. Sees everyone fighting and is like should I warp in the pylon? The zealot gives him a little nod mid combat. Beautiful
That Archon transformation is the best! like u can only see in the game.. but there, they really show how they TRANSFORM... goosebumps.. the BEST so far..
That's not just any Zealot. It's Khaldalis, a non-campaign hero. He's the Zealot hero module that Fenix/Talandar can upload to any Centurion Zealot in the Commanders mission games
“The loss of most of the psionic powers of the two merging templar is more than compensated for by the archon's formidable psychic gestalt. Archons can independently erect a resilient shield and direct psionic shockwaves.[5] They may create rifts that draws in nearby matter, removing it and the archons from the battlefield.[6] Emotionally, archons are manifestations of pure rage,[7] though this may be "twisted" should the merging be in error.[8] Archons are much feared by their enemies,[2] and can wade through countless enemy troops[7]; they are strong enough to engage ultralisks in single combat.[6]” from wiki
@@Jen-Yueh_Hu It fits. Without that archon merge that ultra would have plowed through Kaldalis and both Templar and destroyed the pylon, preventing the Zealot reinforcements.
@@fulldisclosureiamamonster2786 I am referring to the Starcraft manual. Archon These swirling, burning effigies of the Protoss spirit radiate incalculable power, and their devastating psionic storms can be unleashed against cowering enemy forces both in the air and on the ground. Although the Protoss are loathe to sacrifice valuable Templar, those that do achieve this final level of commitment are honored in the annals of the Templar Archives. They only do the merge in the most extreme circumstances.
Well, fear and violence always did bring out the best in me. ... a group of nerds and Gamers alike chanting together just about brought a tear to my eye.
