I appreciate that you aren't talking at 600MPH in this video so I can actually follow along. You sometimes talk way too fast and skip around too quickly in your guide videos but this one was well paced and organized

You made a mistake when explaining the Alt key. If you just do Alt + 2, that's gonna remove the units from their current group and add ONLY THEM to the new group. If you want to remove units from one group and add the to another where there already are other units, you have to do Alt + Shift + control group.

It would be great if the game had a feature in the options menu that allowed you to "prioritize" and set which units go above others in a control group. Call it: "The stack." It would add more flexibility to control groups. For example, as Terran you could group Ghosts to your MMM army on control group 1, but still have marines with Stim be the first unit that is prioritized because it is "on top" of the stack. Then you could just press tab to swap to ghosts. Or maybe you want to prioritize siege tanks and have them in control group 1. They would always be first on the "the stack." Pressing tab would swap to your marines with Stim.

How do you setup the area hotkeys? Do you have to do it at the start of each game or does it save for a map you've played so that the next time you are on the map it's already setup?

Hi, do you have to wait for your production( marines, medic, Vikings) is finished before ad them to the existing respective groups? so out of the queue production line? Not the case with Zergs right? you can add them when they are still in eggs?

Correct. Only Zerg can hotkey their units before they are ready, with the exception of warping in Protoss units, those can be added in mid-warp as well. The other two races have to wait for the units to finish before they can be added to hotkey groups.

Wow i have been using a setup similar to this for a very long time and ive never watched a video on hotkey setup before. I like to put my command/nexus on 6, rax/gate on 5, and factory-star port/robo-star gate on 4. army is 1,2,3. But now that you mention w for toss i think ill just start using 4 and 5 to separate the robo and star gate. For zerg hatchs are on 5 and units take up 1,2,3,4 and ill put upgrade buildings on 6.

The only thing i want to know is how do you guys select a whole group of scv's, probes, or drones and tell only a certain number to go harvest this gas or those minerals? Ive seen you and lowko grab 8 or 9 harvesters and only send 3 to a gas or something similar.

Ctrl + LeftClick on a worker (it'll select all on-screen), send them ALL to the gas, Shift+LeftClick three times (in the lower middle screen), send them to the other gas, Shift+LeftClick three times again in the same area, send the remainder to the minerals. I hope that makes sense, it sounds funky typing it out.

i keep my command centers on 5, production buildings on 6, Army on 1 thru 4. Yea, main ground army on 1, special stuff like ravens, banshees on 3 or 4

Hi, You use something like "smart cast" to cast spells and abilities more quickly?

Maybe late, but when you have a spell or ability selected, if you hold down "shift" you won't lose the cursor when you click. So as long as you hold down shift you can keep spamming the ability wherever you click. I actually use this for Zerg queens and shift click inject on the minimap, still haven't learned to do it quickly enough with camera positions.

coincidence maybe but i use my bases in 4. also, i dont group my army units really. i just use F2 or select them indivually. i group all my unit production buildings though.

Hi, I know that you can put your larva directly to the control group, how can we do this for terran for example? When I'm building some marines I want them to go (and to be added) directly to my control group 1 let's say. How can I do that?

I play sc2 since 4 months, i play 1 or 2 games every 2 days and im diamond cx i dont think its that hard to get used to it

Not really. No matter how good or bad you are, unless you are at the very top or the very bottom of the 50-60 thousand players that play ranked, you will always have around 50% win rate. You think a master player gets less destroyed than bronze players in ranked? After you have played enough games, you will be facing off against players of similar skill. And if you are a total scrub, you will be playing against total scrubs.

MrBanane45 I am sure you destroy some of your enemies too. Just look at the last seasons GSL code S. The skill difference between the top4 and top8 players was HUGE. So if the top of the top of korean pro players have such huge skill difference - it stands to reason to in your average ladder game, there will always be one who is vastly better than the other. SC2 ladder so impossible to balance the matchmaking, I am glad it is as it is. :o

Main issue is a lacking playerbase tbh, if there were more players there'd be very fair games, especially in the lower ranks.

i put them on 4 (together with my CCs/hatches/nexus) so if I want to drone I will remind me on the updates and vice versa. Since you can cycle through with tab.

play how u like. But I think grid isnt as good because you have to look down right (bad manner) to see like which row/column your building is to learn the grid hotkeys. On the default its kinda selfexplaining (terran: s - supply , c - command center, - e - engineering bay, f - factory).

+Ti m yeah but the hotkeys are all together at my finger range even if you master both methods don't you think the grid is faster due to distance of the keys you wanna press instead of using the whole keyboard?

Neko Hitsuo actually almost all default hotkeys are in right hand range. I rebinded P Patroule on W. I would say the best layout is the layout which u r used to be. I like default more because there is less chance to mess stuff up (T for stimpack; you wont randomly missclick on T with default hotkeys because T is used rarely). Im interested what hotkeys the pros use

Is it too late to get back into starcraft and buy Legacy of the Void? I used to play WoL and HoTS but stopped playing for a while (craptop couldnt handle the game anymore). I started playing again recently (after I found your yt channel/stream) and have been enjoying playing again. Is it too late to pick up Legacy and start playing again?

Ctrl+F5 to create F5 to move camera to where you created This works with F5, F6, F7, and F8 Have a look in your hotkeys setup for more info Menu (F10) > Options > Hotkeys I've rebinded my camera hotkeys to F1 through F4 My select all army hotkey is ` (tilde, like Winter's). My select idle workers hotkey is - (minus)

When i press "TAB" to try to switch between units or buildings, it doesnt switch to another one? If i take like 3 of my CC's and make CRTL + 1, and i want to switch between them with "TAB" it doesnt work?

Tab only for cycle between different types of units/buildings. There is a hotkey for cycling between bases, mine I use spacebar but I think I changed it. Not sure what the default one is.

Default is backspace (I also changed it). For OP, when you have the same type of building selected, there is no real reason to select them individually, it will automatically spread production (so with 3 CC's, if you press 'S' three times, you will make one SCV at each, filling from left to right). (Edit): This is also true for energy, it will take from the CC with highest energy each time you cast something. If you want to select one individually for some reason, you'll need to select it individually, or make a hotkey for each building. The times this is useful are very edge, and you'd probably get more value not spending the time doing whatever you think it is that individual selection would help with.

Lol. You are inconsistent :P You toggle between buildings with tab but somehow you don't do that with units. :P Maybe you don't know that you can cycle though units with tab too?
