StarCraft: Mass Recall V7.1 Brood War Terran Campaign Mission 1 - First Strike 

for real. the old audio lines were sooooooo gooooood. i think it had something to do with the noise they had in the background of the voice lines. feels gritty and real

I've been pouring some time into revisiting SC2 myself lately, and for me that's the main complaint I have with the game too. I know that maybe the OG game used its share of sound library sound effects, but compared to the sequel it sounded so much more better and brutal. The gunfire, unit sounds, and the terrible decisions related to the voice acting are major turn offs for me in SC2. When I heard Kerrigan's new voice for the first time when I first played, I think I had to pause the game at the time in order to process it. This game just sounds like total shit, and maybe it's unfair to judge the game solely on that, but the story line in the campaigns are also so... bad. Did Chris Metzen go through a bad divorce or some something at the time, as he made the returning characters in SC2 so... cringe and pathetic. Raynor being a cuck over Kerrigan severely contrasts with his final words following the death of his pal Fenix. Mensk does absolutely nothing, and Kerrigan herself becomes promoted to "muh OC" who is the key to saving the universe? At least I don't have to wrestle with the waypoint system so much in SC2. So that's one bonus... I guess.

@@skullvitch2 SC2 is objectively an incredible esport. The gameplay is super polished, complex and punishing; I'd say it's everything Brood Wars was and more. But the story, art, sound and VO are far worse. I still like Jim, and Kerrigan has some decent moments throughout Wings of Liberty, but Mengsk is absolutely a missed opportunity. Mengsk is essentially a used car salesmen who is so good at sleazing he sells himself as an Emperor. He's an incredible villain, and I was brutally disappointed with how they treated him in Heart of the Swarm.

@@bornforburning777 But Mengsk have been a villain since he betray sarah karrigan and everyone else who trusted him even jim raynor during starcraft 1 brood war, so it's no suprisse that he become bad dictator in starcraft 2 and their people wasn't happy because he were abusing of power and opposing people who revolted against him, his son valerian mengsk its only the good one.

Or was it Duran's worst decision to make an enemy out of Stukov? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
