When you wake up on the 1st of Fall, hear this starting to play, then go outside, and you're blown away (pun intended) by the amazing changes in colour and design in the world.
Fall is my favorite season in stardew valley. The whole place just looks so pretty especially at night and I feel like I’m at home thanks to that fall soundtrack too
right. My life was a better time when I was playing this game. It's crazy that it's so good that it makes a game I played as an adult 2 years ago feel like a nostalgic game I played in my childhood
Nostalgia is a combination of happiness and sadness in a way, that you feel happy, because it reminds you of some great moment in your life, but sad, that the moment in your life isn't happening rn
He did such a great job capturing all the feelings of each season in the songs. You can hear the crisp howling wind, windchimes, and the instruments used have such an autumn feeling
That oboe at 2:23.... and its clarinet duet partner at 2:39... it's one of the most melancholy, pensive, nostalgic things I've ever heard. _So_ fitting of a time just before the cold drops in. I actually didn't _do_ anything with the Community Center before my first Fall... and even then, it wasn't until after the Fair. I probably still wouldn't have sought it out, either, until a friend mentioned that you need to complete it before the end of your second year to be eligible for the "good ending"... so this song reminds me of sitting and reflecting on how I should've been storing up more stuff from the Spring and Summer, like keeping a collection of one of each thing _just_ for this kind of occasion. Just... pondering the goods and ills of my decisions. (If you're curious, I _did_ finish the thing on day 2 of Fall of the second year, with the apples and pomegranates being the last things. But darn if I wasn't worried I wouldn't get all the fish!)
Winter of year two, and the only thing I have to get are the truffles... which don't spawn in winter. So I'll have to pray that the travelling merchant has one during these next few weeks.
I totally love what every season's vibe gives. Spring is beautiful. With a lot of harps to give you the feeling of a fresh new start, whether when starting the game of waking up after the winter. The season of foraging, so to speak. Summer is the most active. There are a lot of things to do. The days are longer, as nighttime doesn't come up until around 8PM. It is an energetic season altogether. Fall is when the year begins to slow down a little bit. As the music implies, it has an air of mystery to it. It slowly shifts your expectations to what is going to be the slowest season, the winter. But in the meanwhile, autumn just fills you up with the brownish atmosphere and constant rain and windy days. Winter is where everything stops. No crops grow in this cold, but that also gives you the opportunity to go foraging or adventuring much earlier. The whiteness of the region and, especially, the music gives off the vibe that everything has quieted down significantly. There is no color, there is just white and blue. Everyone prefers to be indoors at this time. Musically, the highlight is that even though it is beautiful, but sad, is also the end of the year. All Seasons give an excellent change of pace, imo. It is very well done how you transition thanks to the fact that you have a calendar so you know when the time will shift.
@@redpepper74 yeah they get shorter in a sense. It's not until 7pm where light starts dimming. Spring and Autumn start at around 6, and Winter starts at 5pm.
@@redpepper74 yes they do! you start hearing crickets at 8pm in spring and summer, 7pm in fall and 6pm in winter (no crickets in winter, everything goes silent)
Spring was the majestic season. Summer was the cheery, upbeat season. Fall was the tranquil season. And winter is the season in which you upgraded your tools. (Tell me I'm wrong, I dare you.) Also it was relaxing.
The game starts with springtime and "It's a Big World Outside"--it makes me feel like the world is open and full of potential. The spring and summer themes are energizing, and encourage me to get out and explore and do stuff. Then this song comes on to begin Fall. What a contrast! I step out of the house and my farm is full of debris...summer crops dead...everything's brown. There are still crops to grow, still a world to explore and still a farm to build...but wow I could feel my seasonal affective disorder activating.
No dislikes on these fall ones! Impressive considering popularity of the game. These songs are really soothing and good for something that requires focus, like home work.
Whenever I hear this music, I can feel the senses of fall. Clear, blue sky Red, orange, and yellow leaves falling, breaking the silence of the pavement. Your body shivering as the weather gets cold but the temperature is still decent to hang out. sweet chestnuts and dinner feasts. It brings me up the memories of fall. The wind sound effect makes it even better. The beginning of the music feels like a day in fall. As the music continues, it slowly turns into a lullaby. At the end, you just hear the wind. It reminds me of my room The wind making sounds through the window at night, while everything is just silent
This gives me a feeling of sadness, its almost like the lament of the end of the nice weather coming to the end and the time for everything to hibernate for the winter
Being born in March in Australia, we don't get the same 'fall' as northern hemispherians do (we have Autumn, which is just a less hot summer but a warmer winter), and of course the opposite months of the year......and yet, I feel more at home with this season than any others
This is hands down my favorite song in the ost. It has that particular fall feeling. The chilly fall air, the leaves falling from the trees. It matches it perfectly, and that’s what I love abt it
This is my comfort song, my favorite song of all time, i sob every time i listen to it, it reminds me of the simpler times, of when i was not confused and distressed by everything, whem it all made sense to me, i'd do anything just to get that feeling of listening to it for the first time again in the first of autumn, this song means so much to me and i am very grateful to concerned ape for making this masterpiece of a game
Ah, a chilly but bearable fall morning, cloudless, the sun illuminating the yellow, red, and orange leaves still in the trees as the wind carries those that have fallen. I may have been born in May, but my favorite time of year comes between late September and early November.
I think I finally realised how cyclical the quality of the seasons sound. Like, idk why, but summer just sounds so much more peppy and upbeat than spring, which fits the feeling of "I'm getting the hang of this, and the options available to me for farming are so much wider". I always prefer summer music to spring. Then as you transition to autumn, everything becomes more tranquil and melancholy, as everything feels less busy. It sounds like "I've settled into a rhythm, I can maintain myself to the same degree without the stress that came before." The music just feels more layered too. I always prefer autumn to summer. Then winter hits, and it sounds cold. Simple. It's just so relaxing. It sounds like "I have no need to worry about crops, I can focus more on getting odd jobs done, I can make friends, I can explore freely". I always prefer winter to autumn. Then, the new year cycles round. Colour returns. Grass returns. Your animals leave the confines of their little sheds. It sounds as though the world is waking up, and you've been sat their watching it happen. I always prefer spring to winter. Its how the seasons alter my emotions that I feel it just keeps getting better through every transition, and I'm yet to play a game that makes me feel the same way. It's not my favourite ost, but it's just so unique and emotional that this lengthy and possibly incoherent comment is the best I can do to describe it. It's just too good.
This song has no business going this hard, but damn! It sucks you in with a feeling of calm, safe and enjoyable fall weather then it shifts into a sort of deep sadness as the vibrant life of summer fades into the cold gloominess of autumn.
When I think of fall, weather it be in game or irl this is the first thing that comes to mind. it is such a peaceful season and a walk outside for a few minutes or just playing this helps calm me down a lot.
So someone DID say it. It gives me Okami vibes like no other music from any other game (than okami, of course) and frankly I was surprised to hear something like this in this game. I'm also surprised more people don't hear it the same way
I absolutely love this. It almost sounds like something from Final Fantasy VIII (which, by the way, has one of the best video game soundtracks of all time).
Me and my cousin started this off together right after our grandad passed from Covid, but then the grampa in the game gave us the Wil to the farm and we sorta think as him as our grandad 😊
