Knowing a bit on how the process is done with the Beyond Skyrim team and how many years is now taking them to expand Tamriel using Skyrim - I believe this is a load of "boloney".

The only massive Starfield Creation Kit project I want is the one that will turn Starfield into an actual space game.

As far as I can tell, nobody else has mentioned this, but Tamriel is not the name of the planet in the Elder Scrolls series, it's just the main continent (where the empire is located) - the planet is called Nirn. Edit: also, one more red flag I see that you didn't mention: the description talks about porting existing assets from the old games, which seems like they'd be setting themselves up for an intellectual property lawsuit.

Projects like Fallout London or Miami are the only massive projects that really interest me. The old games exist. I wish that the talented modders would forget about reliving the past and just focus on creating new experiences instead. Let Fudge Puppet stay in Morrowind, Oblivion ad Skyrim for the rest of their lives.

Me and other commenters pointed out that they don't realize that Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim are regions of one continent - Tamriel, on a planet called Nirn. Nirn is not mentioned once. That's what made me think this was someone telling AI to write a believable sounding reddit post for "Project Tamriel". Teenage mind with access to ChatGPT free. It's a nothing burger.

If you include DLCs, you can't put together maps from Skyrim and Morrowind.

This is bloody stupid. People still haven't made all of Tamriel in Skyrim (Beyond Skyrim), yet these guys said they were gonna do it in Starfield?

Tamriel Rebuilt is a massive mod like this for Morrowind. They were originally planning on building all of Tamriel in the mod, but they limited their scope down to just the entire province of Morrowind (since the vanilla game takes place only on a large island in the province). They've been working on that for about 20 years, and aren't yet finished. No way is there any chance of bringing 3 different games into the Starfield engine. But if this Starfield thing is true and they did try, they'd probably be able to release it before Fallout 5 comes out.

The only way is through a crazy dedicated person OR, with paid Creations. If they manage to monetize it, they can hire people and the project would not be so far fetched. Even then, not a simple task.

I honest to God don’t know how anybody plays this game the point of interest are so far apart from each other and traveling to them is a nightmare. When they had land vehicles people will just figure out that the points of interest start copy and paste inside and out. I spent $100 on this game and it’s not like I don’t like it I hate it. I’ve liked everything from dagger fall to fallout four. There is a reason people hate it.

Too ambitious. Considering that Starfield can't even exist without the massive amount of cells just in a single solar system due to the spaghetti code engine's limitations...I don't even think what they're talking about is even possible. It'll be more loading screens than even the original games. No thank you.

I love starfield I was expecting Skyrim inside of space and I got what I wanted. The free mods make up for the bugs. One thing I don’t like is the paid mods, like the vulture 7$ for one quest is not a good sign if they continue the trend.

In a way it's better if it's a troll. Having done a bit of mod / indie game dev volunteering, I would never touch these huge game port projects, they seem lose lose. Chances of them succeeding are very low, and if you do succeed it'll take so long that it becomes irrelevant because all you've done is port a game from a really old engine to a slightly less old one. If you volunteer and don't bail like most, you get stuck in some sunken cost fallacy mentality that eats up thousands of hours of your life before you find out which way it'll fizzle out. And in the end you can't even say you own any rights or have a body of creative work you can use in a portfolio. I don't think you'll even get much recognition because people will just see the artistic vision as being from the original game. All this said it is quite fun to be in a group working on game content... but I'd recommend something with a better chance of some kind of success.

I think it'd be cool even to have like a Tavern or player home from Skyrim brought in as a mod though, or like someone could add singing bards with lutes for our ships, lol. If this is real, you probably won't really need an entire planet. Bethesda has always made crater sized games. That's why Skyrim in space was insane, as is expecting that modders can fill up the void with walk-about content.

There are already massive projects to do this on a standalone basis in various versions of the engine. They take 8+ years and some are not even done yet, see Skywind. This sort of thing is just an attempt to scam donations or some other monetization.

Does it really sound awesome? I don't really think Jetpacks and Laserweapons would add much to the Elderscrolls universe

While I'd hope this is actually going to happen, the way I'd believe this would be say if the Beyond Skyrim/Skyblivion team (or a large part of them) was doing this and was able to pull in their previous work to use to port it over in a way. With the ambition and the lack of details... Yeah. Kinda skeptical.

Seems like a meme but fresh off a Tale of Two Wastelands playthrough I'd give it a go. Initially I got Starfield on my XSX before I rolled it off a cliff and acquired a pc instead, life is so much better. I'd have to repurchase Starfield at this point which why I don't currently own a copy but I'd pay out for one simply to admire the spectacle of a mod like this.

Honestly, I thought that this AND a Fallout world would be things that would end up in the game. Not the games, but the worlds, with different questlines. Because there is no way you would be the Dovakiin. Just put in radiant quests. Maybe let you join guilds. It would work, you just can't include the main questlines. Limit it. Also, these people are putting it out there that it is an idea. Asking for people. Every project has to start at a point like this, pie in the sky, with ideas. They are trying to start discussion. I don't think discussion is a bad thing. He's asking for people to help. What if he really wants to do it? How do you know he's making fun of them? I try to be hopeful about such things. I want to see the good in such things, I guess.

If this were a real thing in my opinion even 2050 would be early for something like this to come out, in my opinion, this could be something that would become a generational project that the original makers would pass on to their kids who then might be able to release this by the year 2100.

How amazing would it be if they forgot about this whole Starfield fiasco, swept it all under the rug never talked about it and devoted all the resources towards TES VI with the priority of hiring back the exact people responsible for Oblivion and Skyrim. But alas, this star torture will go on for the next 5 years, with updates and drama of a game that nobody asked for.

As absolutely sick as it would be to have those three TES games in Starfield, I'm just not buying it. I can hope it's real, but I don't believe it is. RIP.

I think elder scrolls fans were trolled pretty hard as well. i'm not so sure that some of us who are into Starfield are really that into elder scrolls... I think it's kind of amusing, but I'm probably just weird😂

Some times the trolls inspire creators. Skyblivion is suppose to release in 2025. Might they think to port that mod to Starfield? Not saying they will or should. Simply stating that the troll may make them think about that.

Not to quash people's creativity (within reason, obviously this seems fake, lol) but it seems more reasonable for someone to make specific cities from each game on specific planets, not as a 1:1, but as a spritual expansion of the cities and the surrounding area generated across a planet. Like an expanded Whiterun, with a faithful core and new outskirts, and the rest of the planet is set to generate the landscape around the city, complete with roaming giants, mammoths, etc...

Way smaller projects struggle to ever get done. I wonder if gaming as we know it will even still exist when Skywind is done.

doing a beyond skyrim like project would be a lot more doable. Tbh i would just make the overworld and just release that first. No interiors. Then go from there. Make individual modules for quest expansion and what not.
