Same! I have never enjoyed a Bethesda game as much as this and I love fallout and elder scrolls so it’s really saying something. I think people expected something different from what we got. But I was looking forward to getting into ship/outpost building, and doing missions and roleplaying my character which is what this is supposed to be! RPG first
It's because most just parroting things they heard someone else says and "reviewer" all over the tube knows... just putting on their point of view doesn't really get them clicks, they need to whine and smack talk about ... Basically everything... to sell.
1:15 Love the Starfield content. You were probably in zero G because the grav drive is destroyed (all red bars). 2:40 you don’t need to chase down your old ship. Instead, sit in pilot seat. Undock. Redock. Make stolen ship home ship. Board old ship. Sit in pilot seat. Make old ship home ship. Stolen ship flies away but is in your fleet now.
Thanks Richard! Yeah I think you are right some of those ships I stole were barely hanging in there by the time I boarded haha. I still need to try the Undock Redock trick so the other ship doesnt fly away although Ill be honest I like the mini adrenaline rush trying to redock before it flys away 😂
You can also from the pilot seat, make the ship your home ship, and register it. Then get up from the seat and open your map and you can fast travel to any point you've discovered with or without enough fuel. If you have contraband the resort place doesn't check, so you can always go there, and sell or repair and upgrade. 🙂
I ran after some random ships that were descending on random planets when i first started the game, and figured this out. how i made my first 100k credits
After the unity I always go moon hopping to find landed ships to steal. I've seen the smuggler quest several times and they often have different ships so its nice to know how to steal it. I look for ships to steal based on their main modules so its less money I have to spend later when I convert it into my standard cruiser. The absolute best ship I found was a Reef 3, it has a 40 power reactor and one of the best grav drives and two of the engines that I use. That saves me over 200k when building my ship. Wight 3s also land all the time but are scripted to drop off troops and take off so are nearly impossible to get from the ground.
Nice guide. It's good to see someone still making positive content about Starfield. I had not seen anyone demonstrate the trick to taking over the landed Freestar ships by starting the mini-quest with the captain.
@@circuitscore true story, I used your trick to nab myself a Freestar Vista III last night. I'm pretty sure it has the exact same layout as the UC Vista III, just a different paint job. It's a great ship though. I usually remove the middle deck from my Vista IIIs to improve the mobility a bit (and get rid of some of the excessive ladders).
@@prokhor_zakharov you're right about the two Vistas -- I stole one of each last night, then posted this video "Starfield Essentials: Touring the Vista III and Claymore III" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NkdxbF2FeFg.html
@@prokhor_zakharov Nice! Was it in the same spot on Hawking or different location? I think I'ma do the same thing with the Claymore. Ladders are the worst in this game 😂
On Claymore II, I took off most of those useless cowlings to save weight and increase mobility, then maxxed the reactor for my skills and upgraded the guns. Taking off the cowlings helped a lot.
Just a tip for All my pirates: if you damage the ships hull until less than 50-75% (variable) it will be 0 Gravity when you enter it. Another tip would be to use EM weapons (most are labelled by the word "Suppressor"). They have WAY less damage to hull, and do way more damage to ship systems. Good luck pirates! See you on the key~
Just be aware that most crimson fleet ships have 1 or 2 pieces of contraband that should be disposed of, before landing. Also, ship staryards have about 2x more money than ship technicians
Why would you dispose of contraband and not just transfer to inventory? Also, after stealing a ship, register it right then and there, then undock and hail your old ship, get back on your regular ship and make it home ship, all cargo and contraband on the ship you just stole is now in your inventory, and there's plenty of places to sell c9ntraband such as the key, the red mile and the wolf system that dontbrequire contra scans
The Wight 3 also has the identical cousin of the Spacer Hyena 3, I never saw any Prophecy 3s until I was into the high 60s/ early 70s though so it may be level locked, surprised you never mentioned the Va’ruun Revelation 2 though, I had that start showing up almost as soon as I could reach Serpentis which was long before I was seeing any mk3 variants and it’s got the Pinch 7Z reactor so you can get a high-powered class C reactor ship at fairly low level provided your piloting skill is high enough
Oh that's good to know. I saw a Spacer Hyena III once but didn't take it. Probably should have! Prophecy III might be the hardest ship in the game to find. The Revelation II is a great ship. It was in the running for sure. I could have made that one a honorable mention. Its a solid ship. Do you know if Revelation 3s exist?
@@circuitscoreyes, I’ve noticed they only started appearing once I got to higher level which is why I think they are likely level-locked, as far as I’m aware the Revation only had the two variants, there’s only the two versions listed on the ship list I use but it appears pretty much immediately, I think there is also a purchasable version of the Wight 3 called the Crossbow (with versions 1-3)
Nice tip on the Freestar Autobahn. Previously I had instigated a fight with the smuggler captain, and after clearing the ship I could steal it. That trick didn’t work the last time I encountered her though. I will try your “leave and return” trick when I can.
Yeah I think you can find Freestar Vistas this way as well. I will for sure be diving more into this exploit see if I can get other kinds of ships to spawn.
@@circuitscore So this worked for me! I also tried it with the UC Longsword III that seems to spawn at least once a session. This is odd though -- I was able to get it to work the first time, but not the second time. I had a UC L III land near me on Mars. I visited, couldn't pilot, so I exited, dropped a beacon, went to another planet, returned to the beacon, found the ship, entered, and stole it! An hour later another UC L III landed. I tried the process again but no luck. I even tried sleeping on Mars for 24 hours. Weird.
Last thought: could you do a walkthrough of these big ships? It can be tough to go from the landing bay or docker to the bridge. I get lost once in a while. 😂 Thanks.
That's a good idea for a video. I may have to do that. Ill be 100 percent honest here I also get very lost on some of these ships. I edit out from the videos when I get lost lmao. Probably why I prefer the Claymore so much.
@@circuitscoreI hear you. I decided to take my own advice and try streaming. I found a couple ships and posted them as "Starfield Essentials: Touring the Vista III and Claymore III" or ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NkdxbF2FeFg.html
Regarding your #4: smuggler ships, You can also steal Smuggler ships by telling them "I'm not really the contact / you have the wrong person" and they try to kill you... Then you can take their ship once everyone is dead.
I believe the zero gravity gets triggered when you land critcal shots in ship targeting mode sometimes it damages the grav drive turning off the gravity in the eneny ship
You don’t have to go looking for any of these ships. They’ll eventually come to you. I’ve played three characters, all up to level 60 and all three times I got ALL of those same ships. I got all of them at random planetary ship landing sites.
Whats the fun in that haha. I mean yeah the way the game is set up eventually after hundreds of hours put in you will run into all ships with the games spawn pool. I'm just sharing the most likely spots to find these ships. For example its much more likely to run into Va'Ruun Ships in Serpentis than Ecliptic.
Is there a way to own more than 10 ships. I hate to sell them cause I have to choose the ones I like the less and it's not easy sometimes. Great video by the way and clear instructions. Take care!
You know there is! If on Xbox you can download a mod in Creations called Own 150 Ships. If on PC install a mod from Nexus called More Ownable Ships. Keep in mind this could potentially disable achievements and also make sure to make a hard backup save without the mod before installing. I love this mod though it makes the game so much more enjoyable.
Just literally figured out how to steal friendly ship without having a crime committed and keep all the crew. Im a level 6 only know about 10% on how to play this game
Nice! Like friendly ships in space or on the ground? In space is a lot harder to come out with no bounty but I think its possible to keep it as low as possible if you use sneak to take them out. Also best to leave any of your moral high ground constellation companions behind haha.
the ship will have 0 gravity if you disable the grav drives or destroy the grav drive (if in targetting mode) ....if the grav drive is still functioning the ships garavity will be normal.
More like they accidentally broke all ships landing on moons and planets. Its unfortunate and hopefully they fix what they broke. Check on this video where I go into more detail about the issue. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QTnqnYUkKTA.html
I disable ships, board them and nobody is in the ship. I encountered that bug where ships land but won’t open up. Ever since ships don’t have people aboard. It sucks.
Someone recently came out with a video showing you don't have to take out other ships to dock and steal a ship. You can do it while in battle and under fire. Edit: found the video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sBMUDr1DMFc.html
Yes you do. I try to cover that in all of my videos but I may have forgot to in this one. To operate Class C ships you will need your Piloting skill upgraded to level 4 in Skills. Check out my other video to level this skill super fast ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nalBHNOtI2Q.html
It's good to sell them but you shouldn't do use them for combat. Your skills, their shield and their weapons are bugged... Don't use them. Yours is a proof, your shield isn't good at all.
Yeah I was limping along with that ship. It was barely getting the job done 😂 I recently just upgraded a Claymore Mk III in my latest video. MUCH better ship.
@@circuitscore Like i tried to say (sorry for poor english) : Stolen Ships are bugged. Buy one, or modify those you get as reward, you'll see the differences. Trust me ^^
Yeah currently on the stable build of the game ships are no longer landing because they messed with the POI locations. The latest beta fixes this issues and we should be able to steal ships on planets again once the stable build drops in a couple weeks.
Oh I know I was limping along with that pirate ship 😂 but hey it got the job done. Check out my latest video. I do a build of a ship that might fit your standards.
@@circuitscore - just get that one big from Ryujo, with 130 EM damage - with points on skill, is one-shot most ships engines ; If their fire bother you, you disable also their weapons. I have a lot of fun trolling high tier Claymore, disabling their engine and weapons then just circle them :p
@@mirandela777 One shot!? That would save me a ton of time. Ima modify my Claymore tonight. Ship stealing is the best. I bet that is hilarious messing with the Ecliptic.
@@circuitscore - put all the points on skills for EM weapons, and you will get tons of fun stealing ships ! Is hilarious to have 2 or even 3 Claymore dead on water, unable to move or shot at you, and chose who live and who will get boarded :p
I’m having an issue to where I see ships I want to steal that land on planets, and their landing bays aren’t open. From Varuun ships to Ecleptic massive ships no matter where I go. I even deleted some saves at lvl 50 which brought me dwn to lvl 39 just to start over and work my way up to a class C pilot license again and still can’t steal ships when they land on random planets in random star systems cause the landing bays aren’t open
That is strange. Ive had other people comment the same thing. I think its a bug that Bethesda still has not fixed either having to do with companions or if you have the hunted trait.
It's a game bug, when you go NG it should be good and replaced with a new bug or should I say feature 😉. In my first playthrough I had the same bug, but I also had the gifted ships that would land with nobody in them that I could take. I love the game but it has no shortage of bugs.
The Claymore is a great ship and easy to get, perfect size, you don't get lost finding the bridge :) . With some upgrades it's no doubt a late game ship.
@@circuitscore I like taking it and making it shorter, A.K.A., the Baby Clay. Rid of a lot of the useless fluff and makes it handle, due to it's lowe mass, much better. I've done multiple variations of the Claymore by changing habs, engines and such to change the look. Love the 2 level cockpit and the way it removes most of the DAMN ladeders.
If you lock onto engine and disable them, then dock your shields will be restored also if you knock out grav drive then they loose gravity in ship. This guy is.....
Their is a ship glitch. I belong to a Starfield FB group. A lot of people to include myself are no longer getting ships to steal. When i land on a new planet, no ships. I haven't gotten one in almost 2 weeks.
Just recently I was on RU-vid and noticed a tuber commenting on that ship glitch. He said if you jacked a ship that landed but it had absolutely no crew aboard but yet you were able to fly away with the ship it bugged the ability to pirate ships landing. In fact this scenario has happened to me and I remember it was a ghosted wraith III and I flew away and even sold it. Since then I have had no ships available to pirate once landing because they do in fact still land but none of their landing bay doors open for me to board and no crew coming out obviously. Solution for the pc users is to install the mod to fix that but for Xbox users it’s ng plus. Hate to have to do that just to get my income back from selling ships but I’m getting ready to do just that because it’s so frustrating to not be able to do one of my favorite sources of cash flow. Thnx Bethesda.
Yes!!! I noticed that too! Early in the game I was getting lots of ships landing that I could steal. Now it’s always ally ships that are not stealable.
got it seems I wasn't able to steal ships from about level 50-60 and then was able to after I broke 100 and won't say what I was able to walk onto and steal.
you can pick up a CF wight also by using the message boards - edit also, the reactors level, i took one at L16 and the max reactor is/was 20, also zero G is def annoying, especially when your a stealth melee combat style
Just a heads up, if you wanna keep the turrets intact for you to use, go in and use your phase time and don't shoot them, but keep throwing out that power and killing people as you go and get to the controls as fast as you can and change the turrents over to you being able to control them by changing the user and then they will start attacking the enemies with you. I'ts really cool. 😊
@@circuitscore It is hilarious and a challenge to get through a ship and try not to shoot the turrets, but can be done. My home ship is a Prophecy III and no turrets were hurt in the take over...😎😂 Good luck.
Yeah I took out the grav drive. Didn't realize until I mad this video that would happen. I guess I was just getting lucky not taking out the grav drive before that.
Little tip, if you sit in the ship you're taking over and undock from your original ship it stays put. Then just dock back up and claim the new ship as your home ship and your original ship stays docked letting you board it directly. It removes the annoying chase down your old ship "feature"
your original ship doesn't just stay put if you do nothing it will leave eventually but if you're quick you can target it and redock before it gets away
I've found the Claymore on planets but have never been able to engage anyone around the ship or able to board as no ladder was down. Have a Narwhale and am using a Vista 3 now.
Just a 'general FYI': you DON'T need to make it your home ship. Just SITTING in the Pilot's seat claims the ship. I've done this dozens of times, works consistently. You can even sit, open the menu, close the menu, and go back to your original ship to prove it.
I knew I was doing something wrong because I used to be able to fast travel to my old ship if it was landed on a planet while in the pilot seat. Thanks for the reminder!
thnx for the guide, i got my ecliptic claymore III in less than 5 minutes, it spawned alone after the second travel and it was really easy to take down by staying behind it , the ship crew gave no problems so im really happy rn
Found 3 prophecy 3, first was a moon in huygens system on a moon these will spawn at any level and any class can spawn 1 2 or 3, 2nd was at Hawkins or archamedes traveling, and 1 in serpentis traveling as well, didn't start seeing the 3 variant till after level 72 or 75, till then it was 1 or 2
That's all fine, but unless you capture something better than your current home ship, then what do you do with it? If you could collect it to a garage for display, then maybe. You can sell them, but why? There's nothing to buy. No end point to anything in this game it seems. Why do anything at all once you get enough funds to build whatever you haven't built on an outpost. I'm over 70 y.o. and have only played like 3 different games in the last 10 years (this is my 1st Bethesda). Can someone tell me what the purpose of this game was meant to be please?
For me I was on the hunt for a Claymore III to modify but I genuinely enjoy taking over ships. Typically I sell the rest using the sell unregistered ship exploit.
At this point for me (NG+ and level 116) it's trying out new ship designs. Tricking out new ships with the best parts is easily upwards of 600k+ credits per ship, so that's the money sink. I tried my hand at role playing as a bounty hunter, outpost builder, and the only part of the game that keeps me playing is ship design. I haven't installed any mods yet, but I imagine that once I do, i'm gonna try even crazier ship designs, like build a giant battleship that can't even land on a planet. I'm hoping that BSG re-implements the space station design feature - watched a few vids about that, and it looks fun.
Prophecy III would be level locked... not sure... maybe around 70 or higher... And they do spawn in Serpentis... top tip, if you like killing Varuun, then get a particle beam weapon like a Big Bang (and one for your companion of course)... you get free ammo from boarding these ships... unfortunately Varuun ships tend to be bugged out on certain platforms (PC GamePass for me), so the ideal scenario is to board the ship, kill crew, make home ship, register (in space), then sell it.... Prophecy III can generate 30k profit on the ship alone, with relevant skills of course... so at a guess, with all the loot you get, its possible to generate between 50k to 100k from one ship.. if you are confident enough and have a high skill level, do it on Very Hard difficulty... you will get more Legendary/Epic/Rare drops this way.... If you are really into killing Varuun, then build an outpost on a Serpentis planet/moon... drop the ships off there... rinse and repeat :D
Ive found Claymoe III in 3 different level 75 systems. Stole and sold a dozen or so, modded 2 for my fleet. Now all that lands is the Ghost which is garbage. Level 113, NG+2
I have a similar problem sometimes. I'm not sure if it helps but it seems like when I change the difficulty to Very Hard I get better spawns but that could be coincidence.
Kind of. Here's a video at the timeframe where I did most of the modifications to this ship. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qkYqn2t1pmI.html Its the Pirate variant of the Nimitz that I just ended up highly modifying. Keep in mind that video I linked about the chest glitch no longer works unfortunately after the latest patch.
I think the zero-G thing happens when you damage the target a little much, you can lower the power to your weapons so they won't hit as hard if you are blowing them up too fast.
You don't have to take out the ships , you can broad the take everyone out get back in you ship and take the rest of the ships out then come back and take the ship or more than one if you want to. I have done so many times. You can broad and disable ships and come back for them later.
