Just typing Starfield on any platform immediately pulls up either people upset with the game or games that aren’t even Starfield. The game is just so mid even the algorithm doesn’t like it

I'm sad to say it is not. As someone who has looked forward to it since that first little peek in 2019 or whenever, it disappoints me greatly. It's made even worse by the fact that I love Bethesdas older games, so I expected as much, or more of the exploration that was their signature. Instead of an open world, we get a ton of little enclosed spaces that are all pretty much the same. Why they thought 1500 some planets was a good idea, who knows, but it's one of the most boring games I have ever played. They would need to do some seriously heavy overhauling if they ever want it to be good, but their recent defensive and out of touch nonsense leads me to believe they're never gonna make this game fun. I worry about Elder Scrolls 6 now, in a way I never would've thought possible.

Todd Howard needs to be moved to an executive producer position and Emil Pagliarulo needs to be moved to literally any other position than creative director/lead writer. I truly believe these 2 guys in addition to the hesitation to move on to a new engine are what's holding Bethesda's games back.

Don't buy this, even when mods come out. Bethesda should have to work for their money and not always rely on their modding community to fix their unfinished games. This modding community could be making gems of games themselves, and instead resort to working for free to help make a big studio more money.

While Starfield isn't exactly a buggy release like Fallout76, I think it falls short of any other games in terms of RPG elements or mechanics and especially the story, for me... The space exploration also feels empty... I tried Starfield for the first 2 hours in Steam, refunded it and pirated it because I want to see more but didn't want to waste my money on it unless I'm certain that the game is really good. After 15th hour, nothing feels exciting so I stopped there. I didn't like how the procedural generation isn't fine tuned or there aren't any other POI that I can find after awhile... Started seeing the same station appearing after the 16th time and I got bored... So I played No Man's Sky instead and NMS wasn't great at launch but eventually become great, AT THEIR OWN IMPROVEMENT and DOESN'T RELY ON MODS. I think Bethesda got too reliant on other people to fix their shit, that they forgot to make a good game. Thinking the Mods will do it. They got this "Bethesda Magic" but it's not in here, in my opinion. At least, I don't see it because as interesting as the world they have, there are no other life forms other than people... So I felt like I played "America's Space" and no aliens or other intelligent lifeforms... So what seems to be the "space" here, seems really empty... Sure, you can argue like Bethesda Customer Response said like "It's just like real life space then!" yeah, sure. But that's real life. This is a game. We expected some small of fantasy or fiction to be in the game, because we can't explore real life space without our lives gambled and risks and also finding nothing like your game, Bethesda. WTF? All in all, Starfield is StarFailed for me... The game is really Mid but I understand that some people think its good and that they liked it, but... Honestly, I think my standards are higher... So I voted Baldur's Gate 3 and other games that done better in my opinion. We've experienced better stories than this. We've experienced better Space Sims than this. We experienced good mechanics before. We experienced better NPC behavior and reaction than this... The NPC feels so dead... I can shoot in the cities and the NPCs will freak out and run away, in OLDER GAMES back in 2010 than Starfield that came out in 2023... WTH? Facial expressions are so dead... Look at BG3, man. Their faces are so expressive... The eyes and cheeks furled. StarFailed didn't manage to do all that with 8 years of Development when Baldur's Gate 3 managed to do it just as good amount of time during their shitty Early Access? Come on... The fact that people tolerated such a low standards baffles me... That's probably the reasons why Bethesda Game Studios are so spiteful towards Larian Studios because they did better than them in every factor. BG3's world isn't exactly explorable and huge like Starfield but that's already enough. Starfield has a bigger world but it's so empty... Nothing is memorable there since everything players experienced that they thought was unique, isn't even unique to other players. I understand that the potential is there but that's all... Cope... A lot of people are playing the game, expecting the Mods to fix the game. Not Bethesda themselves... That's what I find so baffling... The BGS fans expected something not even from the Devs themselves but from other people. Other UNPAID people. The Devs should've done their job and implementing all the good shit BEFORE the launch, bro. Not expecting the Modders to fix their game for them... Because WTF is that? No other Game Studios expects that. Just BGS. It's because secretly or obviously, they're incompetent to make game, good. They got all the foundations but everything else, sucks.

It's totally possible to do in the engine. Sim Settlements 2 (a mod for fallout 4). Has a feature in the second act that adds 2 way comms with you and the quest givers through your pipboy. However it only works with NPCs added in the mods quest afaik. Idk how hard/jank it would be to implement the feature to Starfield via a mod. Unless modder magic proves me wrong, it definitely comes across to me as something that would only be feasible if the dialogue system was designed from the ground up to support phone calls like cyberpunk or GTA.

@@jacobwolnowski1578 Yeah I get your point, in game Lore wise. But if you send a spaceship and full crew with tonnes of shit in the cargo hold through hyperspace, then maybe sending a Tweet would be even easier? Nobody though of sending tiny robot ships through hyperspace?
@jacobwolnowski1578
@jacobwolnowski1578 8 месяцев назад
@@keungwan5901 I dont think they've miniaturized the grav drives to where it'd be feasible to send small loads. And with the fact that it, in universe, burns hydrogen to jump, it might not be cost effective to do it for every message. If you were wanting to send an email or text to someone out of system, you might be waiting hour(s) for a "mail ship" to load up on messages from enough people to make it cost effective. Or you'd be paying a lot to, effectively, have ryujin or whoever do one, possibly more grav jumps just to send your message one-way. None of this to even mention the return message. It'd probably be fine for sending low priority snail mail, which is probably what regular people in the settled systems do on a regular basis to keep in touch or drop off the latest ssnn headlines. But the Starborn is usually dealing with more important communications where you need to talk to them directly and can't wait weeks to ping-pong couriers.

@@austinwhite3575I've personally started getting into modding mechwarrior 5 recently, and at least with that game, it's shit UI is because the devs want to make it "consistent" between console and PC... but as even the game's console UI is amateur, ugly as sin and confusing as all hell (no respect given to hierarchies of information, ie. various management menu options are strewn about with no rhyme or reason), this only results in a horrible UI for console players and an even worse UI for PC players. And mechwarrior 5's UI coding is actually pretty decent, creating new menus and layouts takes like 5 fucking seconds. But god forbid the devs actually follow even the most basic of UI design principles, let alone designing separate UI layouts for optimal use with a controller and mouse n keyboard. Fucking lazy management.

I would contest that being known for glitches _is_ the "conventional sense", at least for most AAA developer studios these days. Everytime I feel tempted to buy and install Starfield I have to remind myself not to play BSG (or Bethesda Softworks) games at launch. They're typically far, far better 3-5 years post, with gigs and gigs of Nexus or LL mods on offer from the brilliant community. I feel like the base game suffers from terrible lighting and UI/UX, as well as BSG's typical snubbing of KB/M users, and the inventory menu just looks user-hostile to me. I like the vault-futurism in the game, but dislike the bobblehead-like conversation animations, particularly compared to its generational contemporaries Cyberpunk 2077 or Baldur's Gate 3. I'm _thirsting_ for the Ship builder, which I believe was veteran game designer Bruce Nesmith's pre-retirement work, it looks amazing - like the ship assembler I've always wanted, but I'll wait till the post-launch polish, community mods and GOG sale hits.

I'm not a Bethesda fan boy. But I am a 67 year old Skyrim fan boy. I played Skyrim since Special Addition came out and 95% of that play time is a modded Skyrim. But Starfield? Well, I was hopeful that an 8 year devolopment would ultimately give us a polished game. I played 74.5 hours and uninstalled it. I give the game a 4.5/10 and that's for the art department because the game looks pretty good. Excepting water. The game was over hyped, falsely advertised (simply listen to Todd explaining all the cool exploration we can't do), horrible optimization, no immersion, uses a crap engine, totally crap UI, bug filled, glitch filled, crashes, repetitive, boring, broken stealth, horrible perk system, janky base building (with little instruction), janky ship building (with little instruction), copy/pasted POI's, absolutely dreadful and contradictory companions who don't care who or what you are other than you're important and get in your way if they're part of your ships crew, no-name citizens that walk back and forth on an invisible tether and many times get in your way, weak main and side missions, overloaded cut scenes and load screens, mediocre gun play with bullet sponge targets that remind me of 2007's S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shadow of Chernobyl. Really bad circa 2011 AI. There are no real choices with consequences. Any choice you make still takes you on the direction Bethesda wants you to take. Thus, the traits and abilities you pick in character generation have little to no benefit. There is no depth or relevance to this game and its components. This game has no role playing despite it being labeled an RPG. This game has no soul. There's no hook like the opening of Skyrim or Fallout 4. The cringe writing is testamant to this. The mind-shattering and pivital reveal of the game is not mind-shattering or pivital. It has no effect on your characters needs or wants; in short it's fraking broken. Nothing can fix this now other than a complete rewrite of at least the first act but then, either way, it's just too late. How can the player get excitedly involved in the artifacts? Why? There's no reason to do so other than to just simply do it. Why are the Starborn doing the same thing? Because...reasons we're never privvy to. Why is every member of Constellation expecting you to jump through Unity and leave everything in your current universe, even perhaps your wife or girlfriend or husband? What manner of non-empathy to anyone must Constellation members have? How is going through Unity a boon or change to humanity? Or even to your character? The junk items you can pick up are pointless, extremely underwhelming carry weight, arbitrary level farming to mend/boost your XP/perks/ money, vendors with little money, NO MAPS, companions scolding you one after the other because you chose the dialog Bethesda didn't want you too, more loading screens in five minutes of play than the entirety of Elden Ring, 300 years of human fiction with nothing to really show for it, no challenging locations or bosses. And no reason to actually make an outpost to farm stuff because you can simply purchase it at a vendor. A "2023 next gen game" with 2006 water graphics? Starfield is fundamentally flawed on so many levels. It is NOT open world. It's plagued with bad game design decisions, half baked systems, bland & uninspired writing and outdated quest design. It isn't "Skyrim in Space", nor is it "Fallout in Space". Starfield is a downgraded, mediocre and soulless mixture of Skyrim & Fallout 4, without the free world exploration and the charm of neither. It's a regression from Bethesdas previous titles in all aspects and the saddest part is that it took them 8 years to create this piece of mediocrity with unparalleled boredom. Mario Cart is more fun than the spaceship battles in Starfield. What's even worse is that devs had ALL the creative freedom to write whatever the hell they wanted; there is no established lore that restricts them from going crazy. And yet they went for the most banal unimaginative take on sci-fi. Funny thing with Londinium - I decided to try landing randomly on the planet, ignored the UC ship telling me to stay away and menu clicked my way down there. As soon as I got out, another random ship came a few hundred metres away, as they do. I wandered over, found it was a Freestar Ship that had landed at a "small settlement" or something like that. On Londinium. The planet that was quarantined because it was over-run with monsters. Sigh. Later, I’m desperate to complete the main quest so I can finally uninstall. I made it to the buried temple - which is of course just another copy paste junkyard. Sarah said she wanted to speak to me and told me that Barrett was worried about her back at the lodge. Well, Barrett fraking died on the Eye when the Hunter attacked about 30 hours ago! What little immersion I had left was instantly taken away! TLDR; Abysmal writing. The worst part is they made a world (worlds) that were already explored. It all feels like we were late to the party. Every planet is littered with copy/pasted factory’s and outposts, you are never more than a 1000 meters from a structure. The whole colonial war already happened and you just get to hear about all the cool interesting events that already occurred. No matter how far you go, there are almost always humans waiting for you there. Even the plants & wildlife that you need to scan already have names. Therefore, locations have already been discovered in the past. What really burns my backside is that New Game + merely allows you to replay the game over again with the same or different companions; ie., Sarah becomes a potted plant, all the Constellation members are children and I think the very worst is all the Constellation members are you with different personalities (and that's to name just three of the 10 or so variations you get. Not only that, when it comes to the writing and consequences of going through the Unity, Sam Coe's questline revolves around restoring a relationship with Cora's mother, Lillian Hart, yet when it comes to the Unity, Sam shows not the slightest consideration of Lillian in allowing young Cora to go through the Unity. I would think she would be devastated. Also, if you do NG+ to bring all 24 powers to level 10, that means you'd have to jump through 1200 glowy-glitter things in 240 temples. No, thanks. This game was labeled as "Next generation" gameplay? Don't stop to think Bethesda will fix anything other than the most egregious problems and that modders can "fix" the game when Bethesda won't. I've come to the realization that the game is fundamentally flawed in a way that no mod or update can actually fix. It's the base level structures of the game that are so unappealing. Modders can come very close to it, but I don't see that as a modders unpaid job. An example would be that modders made Skyrim better. But they didn't "fix" it. As I sit now with 74.5 hours into Starfield, I honestly don't think I'll ever play this game again. At least not without a Cyberpunk 2.0 and DLC type upgrade. And this Bethesda mediocrity has me very worried for Elder Scroll 6. Don't settle for mediocrity.

Please don't get wrong for what I'm about to say, but I think it needs to be said. Starfield is by far not a perfect game but it's not as "mid" or bad as many people are making it out to be. The Microsoft exclusivity caused the game to automatically garner hate right off the bad because it was originally supposed to be on all systems/consoles. This isn't including the numerous issues that the game has, and don't let the fans of the game nor BGS convince you otherwise. I love this game and I'm a BGS fan (despite their hiccups) but I'm not blind enough to not see the issues with this game. I still say though, that most of the comments here are from people whom are looking to hate this game. I actually clicked on this video, expecting another lame RU-vid content creator hate bashing the game, BUT, ST0RY has actually made really good points on a lot of the issues he has with the game. The game isn't for everyone, it's no ES6 like a lot people are clamoring or but it's not GOTY either, nor mid. I would say it's above average but has a lot of design issues that are head scratching. BGS felt like dialing up the scale and supporting the game over the course of 5 years was the way to go, but it makes the world feel empty and lazily put together. IF they dialed the scale back and gave us more hand-crafted worlds/quests with less procedurally generation, the game and the planets would feel and appear much more alive. I would rather pick up artifacts from the exact same locations if it means having a better means to obtain them or more of a challenge or a less frustrating puzzle (I have over 200+ hours in with 2 different characters, one of which is a NG+10 character). The game isn't perfect but also doesn't deserve as much hate as it gets and it's not a game for everyone, still, BGS should've done a much better job with this one from jump and properly updated it from there.

The reason people are still modding and playing skyrim today and why it's the most modded game of all time is because the foundation which the mods build upon is rock solid. Obviously that foundation isn't as solid as many games today but that's exactly what you would expect for a game over ten years old. Some things it's still great at I can't name a game from a similar genre that has more satisfying bow and arrow shooting. I'm going to be very curious to watch Starfields future since I do not believe that game has a solid foundation since one of Bethesda's core pillars(exploration) is fucked and now even the modders are ditching the game and going back to skyrim or fallout. @@Asriel_Cypher And I would say the Skyrim is still good on vanilla it's just that the mods make it better, why would you choose good over better? BG3 is good and mods make it better it's the exact same thing. I would agree that BG3's vanilla game is better than skyrims but that doesn't automatically mean Skyrim is bad one game being better than another is not an argument to say the lesser game is bad all it does is show the better game is better. Then you have to remember plenty of people *are* willing to play it unmodded I'm just not one of them just like you're willing to play BG3 unmodded but people like me who will mod it absolutely exist and the fact that we mod it does not mean we didn't have fun without mods. The only difference is BG3 hasn't had time to let people create more mods and ten years apart from Skyrim means it's foundation is going to be even more solid than Skyrim but that doesn't automatically make Skyrim a bad game just because it's no longer the new kid on the block. When many more mods are available for BG3 I'm going to install a lot of them, do you believe that because I'll be able to install more mods on BG3 later that means it's not that good now? If the answer is no why does that apply to Skyrim but not BG3? 10 years down the road there will be a game that crushes BG3 in vanilla quality the same way BG3 crushes Skyrim now and there will be someone like you saying BG3 was never good without the mods. It won't be true about BG3 then and it's not true about Skyrim now.

@@InMaTeofDeath I would disagree on Skyrim being good because of the bugs, but I understand the game has huge potential and it played into it and that the mods does make it better. When in comparison BG3 was already good and has less bugs or UI problems like Skyrim Vanilla. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I wouldn't tolerate the game back then for being incomplete or having needing Mods to fix some issues that the Devs never fixed up until today. So that's the reason I question why. While I see your point that Skyrim is good is debatable, I understand it but what I don't understand is why people tolerate it back then and now as well. It's not that I choose good versus better. It's that I choose another game over Skyrim, because those games wasn't games full of flaws, needing fixes from other people and not the Devs. That's why I ask, without the mods, was the game even good? In your words, the absence of positive is not by itself a negative but when I look at Skyrim, a game that still has flaws that are not fixed by the Devs themselves and by other people, is incomplete. I would say it is because my standards is higher, because I would not go for a broken product. Minor issues are fine but I don't see how Skyrim is "good" as you put it. For example when buying a product, would you buy a product that is difficult to use, fun, but still has other problems such as the casing or function but can be fixed by other people's product or fixes? I don't and that's how I see the games made by Bethesda. Kind of broken or incomplete and other people seems to tolerate this level instead of purchasing something similar but works better or that it's not full of flaws, and possibly not needing fixes from other people. So from there, I would say Skyrim is not good, during and after its release, simply because it wasn't fixed properly. So I see it as a broken product. But I understand your point. The part of "lesser game is bad all it does is show the better game is better-" part but I do disagree slightly. So from your statements, it's as if you dismiss the issues I mentioned earlier and you tolerated with those issues. May I ask why? Because the point that I started the conversation, wasn't because Mods or no Mods. I was trying to ask, why would you rate a game that was full of flaws, "good" as you stated? Why would you tolerate mediocrity?

Urgh, just let the game fall into the "void" and on the margin of preference among the public due to its own structural limitations. I prefer to see a game fail on its own and see the "message" given by consumers for the pedagogical benefit of Beth's future. If you wave at this thing saying that the final result was ok, that will be particularly dangerous and harmful for a tomorrow where nostalgia and condescension will be preponderant criteria among players. I prefer not to contribute to this.

Normally, that'd make sense, but I used the same setttings (Sans some obvious upscaling details, since my rig now is quite a bit beefier than it was when I reviewed Diablo and TO) that I did when I used it in the past. These same settings are the same ones I used when I got my replacement recording software, but there turned out perfectly fine.

I'd say it's worth it through multi-year updates that make it less Starfield. I just have better even better Bethesda games to play than Starfield that gives me more semblance of character for its world, story, and yeah characters. Elder Scrolls fulfills the fun traditional fantasy niche with all the neat stuff like different races and adventures. Fallout fulfills the post apocalyptic fantasy niche that has memorable characters that stand out. Starfield feels like Bethesda thought No Man's Sky was going to be an easy cashgrab of a game concept. Starfield just doesn't fulfill the Bethesda game niche enough to me for it to be a game worth it to me. It feels like a Bethesda game that is made with the intention of being just being made and without some sort of grand fun and awe inspiring vision for a game. It feels like an beta test build from some sort of indie game developer more than a game people should buy.

Well. I think It is best to answer this question by just looking at the current active playerbase for the game. As I am speaking, the game has 15,5k players. Rimworld has about 22,2k players and Cyberpunk 2077 has 59,2k. As someone who became critical of Bethesda after Fallout 4, and was able to predict the future with 76. There is no way you are going to make me buy this game. It will all just be the same but worse. With every single game Bethesda release, they just take a few steps forward and a few steps backwards. In Starfield you can't even name a save file and see a thumbnail of that save file. You where able to do that back in Morrowind, and Skyrim and Fallout 4 has save thumbnails. Why the step back here Bethesda? Why isn't it possible to literally copy paste the only system from Fallout 4? We know you are able to do it with other systems.

this game has potential but I hope its Bethesda that patches that in and not the mod community. for me what draws this game down is all the menu's and fast travel and honestly poor facial animations. all stuff that is hard to ignore when you are trying to have an immersive experience. I love space games and went into this with excitement about having as much fun in space with this game as I had with Skyrim or fallout. I've sunk over 3000hrs in fallout 4 and easily 4-5khrs in skyrim. I put 12hrs into Starfield and I had to set down my xbox controller. the game is to much A-B with every aspect and no fun in between. I'm hoping they give it the fallout 76 treatment... or a revival like No Man's Sky did.

There are some people who will forever hate on this game as it’s suppose to entertain them for thousands of hours or something. It’s a game. It’s meant to be played til you lose interest in it, then move on to something else. It’s that simple. People who say it’s not worth it work for chump change at jobs, giving away their time & freedom for low wage jobs. You could easily get 10-20 hours of enjoyment out of it, which itself would be totally worth the base price for the game. Cry babies are everywhere lol

I don't normally play single player games. This year I player Hogwarts Legacy and Starfield. - I prefer survival games, especially if they have a multiplayer component like Conan Exiles. Otherwise I play MMO's. I felt about Bugthesda & Starfield exactly as you stated in your intro. I have a long history with their games beginning with Skynet and Arena. In fact, when I got to Skyrim on PS3 (11.11.11), the first words outta my mouth were, "F*cking hell! Over a decade later and you STILL can't run this shit!" ..then went onto post a completion time of 2:43:00 once I could actually play the game. Do I like Starfield? Absolutely, not because it fullfilled any expectation, but because its a new IP with a hard space style. The stellar mechanics are incredible. Some planets are so large that a single pixel could contain the entirety of Skyrim in it! The scale is grandeur. The less crap telling me what to do, where to go and what to expect, the better. I like being able to say what I want without there being a clear win-statement penalty. I'm not a f*ckin robot. I like that your character gen choices give you access to quests layers you otherwise wouldn't find. Your background and traits feed into how the game treats you, but also vocational pathways. That the basic questlines are all introductory pathways to cutting deeper layers into the game. Which of course means, you don't look for, or take the linear path through the game.. - In fact, I was lvl96 when I first went through the unity. - but, oh boy, did I have a literal f*cktonne of quests fed into the NG+ generator, which immediately changed ..everything. Some things were subtle, others quite pronounced. By lvl92 the game was pissing me off. It had developed a strange break when I was running around. As if I had fed it too much, and it was straining while I continued to try and find starters to break deeper into post completion questlines and unearth new content. I literally spent days with the last two artifacts in my inv. and the game pushing me to drop them off like a zealot. I f*cking despised the frequency of companions nagging me every 5 secs about some gift they seemed manically eager I take. - Almost always after clearing room in my pack ..ain't that just great? Wheres the, "Just stop nagging me and put it in cargo, already!", option?? - So then I drop off the artifacts and it kills Barrett. - is that why you're so insistent?? THATS whats wrong with the game. The stupid rug-pulling mechanics, and timely glitches anytime you the game thinks you're trivializing it. But then locks away deep narrative and quest layers behind exploration. - few people have patience to ever see, because if its not obvious, they're not gonna look for it. I love that the game is not working towards any of the goals and conventions past bugthesda titles did. - and that its on the extreme edge of 'go anywhere, do whatever you want'. So, I'm afraid maps don't matter to me, as they wouldn't fit in my niche. - That squadrons of high level Ecliptic Claymores attempting to perform rng wipes can be foiled (not easily). For me my goto skills are fitness and environmrntal conditioning. Outpost management, Leadership and Ship command (among social skills). Mean that even ordinary crews give me double the perks.Then ship & science skills to proc quests and outpost quests for big XP hits. Even the supply cargo mission give good XP, but only double the material value.- I saved up 6pts and did fitness and leadership together, against a bed, in a hab on my ship. - in minutes 😉 The games wierdly fantastic in unconventional, non-fantasy ways. I'm glad its not ME, Star Trek or Star Wars. Flat Earthers and Alien loons are rapidly destroying that for me. Its not fun anymore. The woke loons are categorically batshit useless. Do I care about pronouns? - Even I know its paid for; and asking company's not to take money when its being spoonfed to them, is an exercise in uselessness. It also displays an extreme lack of comprehension about 'business'. - That said, I know Heels anger was directed at gov't giving away our money to these lunatics whom do nothing for their constituants, but throw it at multimedia corps, for propaganda. It literally is wasting our generational wealth. No one cared about Mr, Mrs, Ms, or honorifics like Lord & Lady, they can't be serious about other pronouns, lol 😆 Anyway, enough outta me. I like the game, more than any other Bugthesda title I didn't play! Which is most of. This ones a brain tickler, thats the players to lose. Its chill, its got its moments, its still ambitiously Bugthesda. - Have a like, cuz. 👍

I find the soundtrack to be boring. Compared to say; Oblivion, or even Fallout 3. Humanity left Earth hundreds of years ago, and developted much technology along the way. They seem to have completely forgotten about music. There is some talk on Neon about a music group but that's it. There is no radio stations. No Custom music. Just the same soundtrack over, and over, and over. After a couple hours of playing - it gets boring. I've started listening to pod-casts or running spotify while i play the game. AS for shipbuilding ... It's so unnessarily complicated for new players. There is absolutely NOTHING, ZERO, ZILCH explained about how it actually works or is supposed to work. It"s AWFUL. Too many limitations. Yes you can eventually be creative with your buillds after you've reached level 61 and rank 4 in piloting. Until then, you're left to scoure reddit forums for help on everything. Maybe that was Bethesda's intention? Players helping players? Then there is outpost building. It's beyond broken. I've tried, for many wasted hours. Habs don't connect to other habs. Habs don't connect to hab-hallways. The entire point of building habs is to be creative. It's not needed to get resources and it shows that Bethesda didn't give it even a single-play through test run as it simply just doesn't work. I personally hate the lock-picking in this game. I would take the lockpicking in Fallout 3 over any other lockpicking ANY day. Hell, bring back the Oblivion lockpicking!! That was far more fun that whatever Starfield has... I actually wonder if there could be a mod to completely change that part of the game. My game is bugged and the first temple never spawns. That's it. Can't progress with the main story at all. Thanks guys!! Otherwise yes, I agree. It's worth it. But not at $90. Wait a few years when hopefully most of the game-breaking bugs have been smoothened out and it'll be worth it. $60 maybe. $50 Yes. $40 absolutely.

You know, on your first point, Jeremy Soule was let go of Bethesda a short while back. He's gotta be the second composer that the Beth family has kicked out- hopefully less horrendously as id did Mick Gordon dirty. And for me the game just isn't worth a haypenny. Bethesda held themselves to a higher standard in the past and I expect that to be the barebones minimum. I argue that even Skyrim is lacking compared to prior titles, and that's considering I was head over heels into the game for about a year and a half. After that I became disillusioned after noticing that I preferred the systems of the prior Elder Scrolls- even Daggerfall. I'm a fan that was ostracized around 2013. All my parody TES clips I made a decade ago just feels nostalgically sad to me nowadays. Like I want to return but I know I will be so disappointed the more I subject myself to their games. Nothing good lasts forever, after all. And I'm not going to get into the bad faith actions the company has taken over the last decade. The Fall of 76 by Internet Historian says everything I have to say about the state of their company. I'm sticking with their #1 rival, Obsidian, for when I want a Bethesda-esque game. I've beaten Grounded thrice now and just got Outer Worlds yesterday, and both games have had me fully engaged throughout. The personality they put in fits my preferences in gaming. Skyrim was the last game I've seen of them which had anything comparable. I hope for the entire industry and all their fans that TESVI ends up being a massive return to form, but knowing lazy, arrogant Bethany, they'll continue stagnating with Emil and Todd at the helm. But that's just my opinion.
