I have a 5600 and a 4060. Do you recomend using DLLS performance with FPS boost on or FSR3 for boost my fps? Thanks

I personally use FSR3 with my 4080 Super to get a little bit more of a FPS boost to try and max out my 144hz screen but DLSS performance is pretty solid as well. Some people say that FSR3 has some graphical glitches here and there but I don't notice anything like that.

So now with FSR 3 I can run Starfield WITH MODS on a GTX 1660 (about one par down to the 1070 which I think is the bare minimum requirement?) At a stable 60 FPS on medium in most places, but cities have to be cut back to low to get 60 ALL the time, other than that it will go down to 40's with shadows and 60 with shadows disabled

@@circuitscore if they add this technology to FO4, i will be happy, because that one section of Boston that's always bring my PC to it's knees under 30fps which is dogshit slow, i mean i have all the tweaks and texture reducers that i could find on the nexus and it still runs like shit, so hopefully when bethesda do their FO4 update, they bring along the DLSS and FSR support, maybe i will see a dramatic boost in performance. i think my hardware is still too old for starfield, which means there is no use in trying to play that game, so this is why i stay playing skyrim and FO4 for now.

There's an FSR3 mod that I think is compatible with all games. I personally haven't tried it but should work with FO4 as well.

@@circuitscore i will have to check that out and see if i can make it work, some mods have very complicated installs and i don't always understand how to install them. i have been modding for a full on decade now, and i still feel like a noob in many modding aspects.

im using a rtx3050 frame generation is available for me, however when i put it on i can literally see each frame pop in when im looking around

Interesting. I have not had this issue although my game is running the game over 100 FPS so maybe my eyes cant see it.

Frame generation is awesome on both AMD and Nvidia, the only games I wouldn't use it on is multiplayer shooters but for single player titles its awesome and I cant really tell any latency issues at all.

100% Agreed! MW3 I keep it off to maintain a competitive edge. But yeah single player games where it doesn't matter I don't really see a huge latency difference.

I have tried this when I first saw in but it kept crashing the system so switched it back off (3060TI). The frame rate boost was really good but not worth the glitches. May be just my system so worth trying as it does work.

That's a bummer. No issues on my 2060. Hopefully FSR 3.1 irons out some of these issues.

It definitely makes a difference but you can really feel the mouse lag even with boost on. But in this game it's totally acceptable. Also note that turning on FSR 3 by default turns on dynamic resolution which most would want to turn off.

I personally do not notice significant lag with the nvidia anti lag settings turned on. I didnt know it changed to dynamic resolution. I havnt noticed any resolution changes on my display since rolling with FSR3.

I'll have to test it out. This may address the issue where the FPS drops a ton when turning from side to side for example.

Every time I do this it lasts roughly 5min. Then crashes every time doesn't matter if I'm running standard GPU settings, undervolted/overvolted the moment I lose rivertuner game crashes plz help so I can enjoy my 3070 in starfield instead of feeling ripped off

It should adjust to the resolution of your screen. What is the native resolution of your screen?

@@circuitscore it’s a 4k lg tv, but for some reason it stays locked at 720. If I click the windowed mode, I can adjust but the screen stays small and to the side

I thought that Frame Generation was just a marketing scam so I ended up buying 3060 ti instead of 4060 but after trying FG I was surprised because it definitely feels better than having 50-60 real fps. Another nice surprise was that FSR doesn't suck anymore, I had to install dlss mod when Starfield launched because of how bad FSR was but now I'm fine with FSR. Still a bit behind DLSS but not by much anymore.

FSR 3.0 has come a long ways compared to FSR 2. Frame Generation def depends on the game but Ill take the extra FPS to try and max out my 144hz screen as much as possible.

Agreed however most GPU's do not support Nvidia's FG. This is a great way for the majority of people who don't have 4000 series to benefit from this new tech thanks to AMD's extensive compatibility.

tried it with my old 2080, better performance and much more graphic quality with dlss, FSR 3 and frame generation resulted in horrible muddy graphics and lower fps

That is very strange. That is the opposite result I was getting. My setup resulted in 40-50 percent increase in FPS with FSR3 and Frame Generation on vs DLSS Quality with Frame Generation off. I couldn't tell a graphical difference between the two settings personally. By the way I guarantee you will see a performance uplift with FSR3 and Frame Gen on with your 2080 vs DLSS Quality and No Frame Generation considering your 2080 is not compatible with Nvidia's version of Frame Generation. If there is not a performance increase with Frame Generation on there is something seriously wrong with your system.

FSR3 doesn't seem to play well with 20 series GPUs. I also have a 2080 (the Super version) and while FSR3 works ok, as soon as I turn on frame generation the whole game freezes and then crashes to desktop. I also tried to enable frame generation on a 4080 powered PC by using Nvidia GeForce Now and the game did the game thing. Admittedly this was over a month ago so hopefully this has since been patched.

Huh that is weird. Worked just fine on my 2060 laptop as shown in the video. Nearly doubled the framerate.

@@circuitscore maybe its system related and works fine with other systems, the framerate wasn't that much different on both settings but DLSS quality looked more sharper, and movement was smoother , biggest Problem with FSR3 were as soon as i started moving alot of graphical glitches flickering and errors was visible on all parts of the screen , don't know where it came from . (i7 8700k RTX 2080)

The problem is, Frame Generation is not real graphical content from the game. It is interoperation. The extra frames are made up and not actual content.

That is correct however I will still take the extra frames whether that are native or "inserted" to get that buttery smooth experience. It still helps especially if you have a high refresh rate monitor.

You could make that argument about DLSS as well, but in the end it doesn't matter. It's helping you get a higher frame rate than would have otherwise have been possible. Also the term you're looking for is "interpolation".

FSR3 is borked though, its slows down certain animations and combat effects, it creates a muddled mess... would be awesome if it actually worked across the board but it makes combat (and certain particle effects) look REALLY BAD/SLOW... its funny how no one points this out and just says how great it is without discussing some of the HUGE flaws!!! DLSS is sadly still king until they fix crap like this...

All these updates are useless if they are not changing the gameplay. I mean, the combat is fine, but exploring empty worlds featuring the same instalations/dungeons over and over again feels boring and repetitive. 👎

Agreed they need to fix some core mechanics in this game. I won't say no to a FPS increase though. Especially if we are talking about a 40-50% increase.
