That is not a problem. Imagine Starfield is technical masterpiece. No bugs, no loading screens, all good. However disastrous world builing, crippled game design are still there.

Game is beyond mid. I’m very concerned for Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda’s game engine, game design, gameplay is so dated and it really showed in StarField.

There is something wrong with BGS development pipeline. How do their previous games manage to have to DLC five to six months after the game launch and we have nothing from Starfield.

I just don’t understand how you can’t freely fly around a solar system when there’s literally no giant assets in space that would make the game hard to run atleast do that and give us the option to press E and manually land on the planet when we got close enough

I want to get Starfield but from what I've heard I am definitely holding off. Weird thing is, I'm actually enjoying Spacebourne 2 which is also an unfinished game but it was cheap from day 1 and has a surprising amount of features for a tiny Dev.

Their focus on “fixes” shows their lack of intent or interest (&integrity) to fix the core issues and terrible choices made in development as that will require major changes and added assets with a result of taking out such stupid design flaws. Never going to happen.

It's not bad, it's just meh. I played it for a month and I've gone back to fallout 4 trying all kinds of mods. Playing London dlc next weekend! 👍

You cannot compare the states of cyberpunk and starfield at launch because at least cyberpunk, while extremely buggy, had good graphics and quests. Starfield has nothing redeeming about it other than the side feature of shipbuilding which won't keep people playing the game. Questing and exploration are so dull and boring so why would I even bother coming back if they fixed the bugs, graphics, and loading screens.

I just started playing cyberpunk, got it for 15$ on a steam sale (phantom liberty dlc not included) but absolutely loving it, side quests are so much fun and main story is kinda good so far

The release now fix later thing only works if they actually fix it later, which Bethesda never does.

I still feel bamboozled by paying 30€ for early acces...😂

I got starfield at launch for free because I bought a bundle with my graphics card and I played for like 5 hours and it is just unplayable for me

I don't understand why I seem to have no issue with the game. I really love it and I'm at over 130+ hours of gameplay. It's not for everyone clearly.

I was just amazed it played on launch. Mid, but playable. From a project management standpoint, the get an A+ for triage. Someone gave them the order to complete the game in its current state and they did it. Obvious where they drew the line in so many places, but at least it worked. That’s actually really hard to do, especially if you’re working with a team that puts you a few year behind schedule to begin with.

Starfield was everything I wanted and more. Played 300+ hours before I was kinda done. I will be back for DLC. The only bug I had was the Legacy data upload

The games not perfect but I grew up playing fallout, elder scrolls… the game is not perfect and not everything we expected it to be after all these years but I personally still had a great time with the game.

Bethesda should add the option for us to land on the planet manually because it can make the game immersive. If they ever add that option and improve on the other stuff, I will come back to the game.

I personally had a lot of fun playing it first time through. I always try to do all the side quest and faction stuff in my first run to see what it has to offer. After dealing with a lot of it, I had no interest in going through a lot of that stuff all over again

I Uninstalled a few months ago and have no desire to revisit the load screen, fetch quest, boss babe simulator

I'm a day one Cyberpunk buyer too and can honestly say we got punked when it came to that game on release day

the game is dead. 3k people playing peak, went onto nexusmod and check if there are any good mod, the popular all time mod havent been updated, goes weekly new mod only around 30, compare to skyrim over 300 per week edit : Starfield will never achieve what cyberpunk can, why? Because cyberpunk is a diamond in a rough, and starfield is a turd in a rough. its the problem with the core mid gameplay and outdated engine of what bethesda use.

I pre-ordered Cyberpunk in all honesty i still enjoyed it even with its issues. With Starfield i played in on Game Pass and honestly i was bored for most of it.

Maybe the devs can learn from Star Wars Outlaw and improve the game drastically. GTA 5 could have been copied also. Lets hope Shattered Space delivers.

Will you ever be able to land your ship on a planet manually? The answer is no. Luke Stephens did a video that delves into this topic. The short answer is the game engine just can't do it as is. To make it be able to do so would cost a fortune and take years. If your curios the video is titled Should Bethesda switch to Unreal 5 engine.

So basically, it still suffers from Bethesda syndrome just like the rest of their games. But hey, it just works. Will end up just like Skyrim, a good game that community modders will fix. Because, hey, why would Bethesda do it, when they have modders to fix nearly everything wrong with their games. There was a time when I was eagerly awaiting Elder Scroll 6. Now, I can only imagine it being even worse than Fallout 76 release. But hey, it just works.

Worse character models and facial expressions than Mass Effect Andromeda, and that game came out 7 years ago and was slammed for how bad its faces were...

i think what games have to do it make the game sort of physics based. rockstar does this the absolute best. their latests games utilize the euphoria physics engine. which js makes games so much more dynamic, and psychopathically satisfying to shoot people, i think if the game just updated their engine overall the game wouldnt feel like a xbox 360 game

How is it, that some reviewers claim that this game is riddled with bugs and other ones claim that it has barely any bugs at all? Also considering Bethesda's game history, the character design honestly doesn't look half bad. 😅 I could never play any Bethesda game before because of how ugly everything looked.

It's not CDPR fault, nor Cyberpunk. That studio is at least fixing their games to an extent. This is an issue since a long time, and many other studios do not fix their games. Including Bethesda. Bethesda just publishes yet another "next gen" update, or sells another version of their broken game, without fixing anything. See the latest offender - Fallout 4 Next Gen. Where you still have to deal with broken LODs, as an example. It's not studios, it's not the gaming world. This is a Bethesda Problem.

Starfield is awesome IMO. Admittedly it takes 15 or 20 hours to get the game rlly going but I came back to it a week ago and haven’t stopped!!

Even with 0 loading screens and perfect graphics, it would greatly improve the experience but it'd still be a mediocre game, the foundations of the game are bad, you can't correct that with a new paintjob, that's the difference between Stanfield and Cyberpunk, Cyberpunk was bad at release but had solid foundations they could build on, not Starfield.

As a starfield enjoyer i appreciate the fact you aren't just like "iT's nOt As gOoD aS nO mAnS Sky" since no man's sky is the largest game in existence and also looked pretty bad in the beginning Plus no mans sky is not made by a company who made fallout 76 and skyrim... we all know what i'm talking about...

I knew even before Fallout 76 that this is going to happen. And it's going to happen again with TES 6 or the next Fallout which is going to be released in like 30 years. Bethesda's only reason to exist is their IPs

Unfortunately, I bought Starfield before it launched. And by the time I finished it I was bored and disappointed. IMHO, the game is meh, and all the patches are not going to fix the overall experience. And for whatever its worth, I am not holding out any hope for Fallout 5 or Elder Scroll 6.

Cyberpunk started with a good game that was released as a mess. Just needed to fix mechanics, performance and bugs . Starfield is a bad game conceptually. To fix it they need to start from scratch and build an engaging game.

I feel like old games like Skyrim is better than starfield, sure the it's technically worse but Skyrim is what you'd expect from early 2010's, while starfield is far behind in this current generation in almost every single aspects

No Mans Sky was trash at launch too, good now. They have been doing this for awhile customers just need to start waiting until they fix (finish) before we invest a penny.

I'm starting to regret purchasing this game ... Since i rarely have time since i have a family and work i find it hard to play since its not like skyrim or Oblivion or even the fallout.

There are refinements and features needed to drop with the dlc.. But fallout and Skyrim are poor choices if you want an open space/space RPG... In fact this type of game is really rare, and it's very much my type of thing I've always wanted...so I like it a lot but see where the game was constricted or rushed for obvious reasons.

Even if they fixxed all the technical issues it would still simply be a boring generic and dry game were you walk around on boring empty soulless AI generated planets for too long. It just has no edge to it whatsoever it isn’t unique at all. It unironically feels like a game that was built by a small sized game studio on a million dollar budget that just used unreal engine 4.

7 months, it released at the very start of september and its april now. This sorry excuse for a game should still be in the oven, shouldn't have released till maybe late 2025. Then maybe it would have had a chance to actually be a good game, instead of a really cool ship builder attached to a flaming dumpster.

Starfield is too outdated to be given the same treatment as Cyberpunk 2077. Bethesda has no interest in losing part of its workforce to finish this game when Fallout has become mainstream.

All modern games need to do early access. Treat it like the demos of the 90s. Preorder game get access to small part of the game. Give feedback to developers. This is why these games are great years after release. The community feedback allows the games to improve so they may as well gave us early access. That way, they get feedback before the game releases. Also annoying that they took the fallout gore out of the game. It really made using a shotgun just weird.

You spent 60 on cyber punk when it released? Crazy I spent 35 on it at most. Within a couple months of release. It worked perfect on my PC too.

No it is NOT POSSIBLE for them to add interstellar flight between planets and being able to land your ship manually. They would have to recreate SOO much of the actual “building blocks” that make up what the game is, it’s just not viable. They made a (horrible) decision to go the route they did, most likely due to game engine restraints, and made the “best” open world galaxy exploring game that they were able to, on their incredibly OUTDATED and unoptimized game engine. Which they REFUSE to change to something more in line with actual “next-gen” titles. Straight up, idk wtf Microsoft and Xbox are doing rn, but they most definitely aren’t doing anything good in/for the gaming industry or its supporters, consumers, fans, brand image, share holders, etc. etc….. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@L321 ..... These are my honest thoughts on Starfield, with myself being a much, much older person who plays on my XBox Series around 8-10 hrs a day, basically every day (LOL, when not in hospital!) Day one of Starfield I played it on Game Pass ... Well, when I say played it was just horrible and crashed constantly, literally every 2 or 3 minutes. As I have had this with other games on Game Pass, what I did in the past was buy the game, wipe the Game Pass install out of my box, re-loaded the game I now own and the issue was sorted. Starfield? No. €100+ later and I was really no further ahead. I keep my XBox Series S essentially as empty as possible. I have the Official Sea Gate 1 TB expansion card. The only internally stored game will be the one I am presently playing ... Presently that is Fallout 4. Starfield ... I played on past all the crashing and the rest of the c**p it does .... until I got to 560 hrs of play .... At which point it crashed _so comprehensively_ that I had to FACTORY RESET my XBox Series S to get the console to work properly again. Then I went to re-load Starfield .... No ... *No saved game* ... Seriously, *NO* saved game. 560 hrs ... gone. So I started from scratch. It didn't crash quite so much. However, the characterisations were/are still utterly appalling, the game is still as dull as ditch-water. Indeed, I realised it was genuinely sapping any hint of the 'life force' I still have left stuttering through my veins. @1290 hrs total play of I stopped, wiped from my console, then started a new Fallout 4 game. Maybe in 5yrs time Starfield will be worth a look again .... But Sarah Connor and the rest are just appalling, detestable glove puppets whom I wouldn't cross the street to avoid but would consider a Life on Mars, like David. The only two characters I do not wish to instantly decapitate whilst still alive using a blunt tea spoon, are Andreja and Vasco. The story is deeply dodgy. The way the game develops under you is ludicrous. First play through I ended up siding with the Crimson Fleet ... An extremely poor decision .. Because well in excess of 60%+ of all 'random sites' one finds on the 1,000 planets are filled with ... Crimson Fleet. Ergo, no fighting there. Many of the 'jobs' one is given are to go rob from the Crimson Fleet or kill the Crimson Fleet - So all of that is lost. Glitches as we all know are everywhere in Starfield. It is just depressing. There is little doubt I am extremely annoyed I wasted €100+ on this utter garbage and I suspect if Bethesda did a whole Cyber Punk('d) 2077 '"Send it back for a refund!" ... Then Bethesda would have many MILLIONS of copies rammed into their sweaty hands.
