In this game you find out what it must be like to be an intern at Bethesda. Nobody tells you how anything works, but you're tasked with doing everything, from the mundane to world-shatteringly important stuff, and nobody gives you a hint as to which is which. You eventually work out why nothing quite works the way it is supposed to... because everything was put together by unskilled interns like yourself. (Meta satire, but that's how the game experience, with all its bugs and glitches, feels)
Thats literally how the game was built as a dev said in an interview. Its why the starship customization is crazy and unlike anything else. Those guys worked like crazy on the starships and had no idea it would end up being used as a fast travel mini game basically. All the systems were developed separately and then put together at the very end.
The whole multiverse could also be like time travel. If they wanted multiverse, i should be able to have multiple starting point including different background. I think the main quest should have been a hidden quest and Constilation should be some low profile organization.
2000+ hours in No Man's Sky and still enjoying it. Best online community, ship hunting, weapon hunting! And Grand Base building, land, underwater, orbital and freighter bases😊 Best space game to date. Try it!😊
Bringing up the size of the Paradise Resort is a good point. And not just because they could easily share the planet. It's a good point because... what the heck were they gonna do if the colonists decided to force the issue. Like you said, Paradise is like a city block worth of people with a small security force. The most powerful combat advantage you can have in a modern fight is aerial superiority and i aint see a Paradise Security Cruiser up there. They can just send away teams to the surface to start building and if the corpos have a problem threaten them with orbital bombardment.
I spent 70 bucks on steam for this . I feel sorry for the ones who bought the works. This game is bad. Main story is trash. I didn’t care my teammates,Hell I didn’t care about my character . I didn’t even care about getting achievements, I just consoled command through this dumpster fire of A game. Where art thou Mass Effect?
During that conversation with Ron Hope, I had Sarah with me and she did the exact same thing! I was like, "ok... this isn't weird at all. Just took the guys seat." Lol! This game is a joke.
Great review, definitely deserves more views. I got to say, I don't think it's a typical Bethesda game. It's a uniquely lazy Bethesda, even for their standards. I enjoyed past Bethesda games, I have really generous standards for them because they will always have corny writing and janky gameplay. Usually it's alright, because the quests can be creative, the writing can be palatable, the systems can be lived with. Hell I'd even forgive the loading screens if the writing were at least Skyrim level. I'm not a hard person to please and Bethesda earnt a lot of leeway. Even with my massively low standards, this game was horrendous. They took out all the charm and amplified only the flaws. It's actually impressive how bad this game is. It's impressive the lengths people went to defend this game when it released, but now the recency bias has faded and this is gonna be forever known as one of the biggest disappointments in video game history. A game can have game-breaking bugs and bad service, but a game that's rotten to its core completely devoid of creativity... that's impressive ngl. It's like upper management specifically found all the good ideas and nerfed it.
That walking speed thing has always bugged me... run, wait, run and wait. It's annoying as hell. Thank God for Gamepass. Didn't have to pay $70-$100 on this garbage. Im stunned that the reviews are as high as they are. I'm also amazed at just how many people defend this game. Starfield should have been called Radiant instead... considering that's 99% of this game "Bethesda style Radiant Quests"
It's so painful. There's a quest on Mars where you follow a dude for like 10-15 minutes. Truly one of the worst-designed things ever. I've no idea who playtested this and let it through into the final version.
It reviewed as well as it did because MS curated who got it, and only gave it to people who'd give it decent scores. One guy even said he WANTED to give it a better score, but....and still gave it an 85. He ieven said it wasn't a very good game, but, still scored it 85, not 70, or lower
They shoulda just set it to 1 planet, and have each area be a different biome of the planet. Like, 1 area is in permanent rain, one be a desert, one be grassland, etc.

I think there are a okay sidequests that tell a decent story, but otherwise no it's not worth it. It's land on major city, run around talking to people, press L to bring up quest log, press R to fast travel.
I dont understand. I just don't. What is Starfield's purpose? The sim elements are worse than Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous. The crafting and exploration are worse than No Mans Sky. The Space Combat is worse than Bang! Gunship Elite. What is the point of this game?
Skills are fine as they are as long as you use them properly. Pick a background, and select skills that compliment the build. They Suck if you go for the god build, it’s like the game discourages you from doing that.

A majority of bethesdas audience are in their 20's to 30's We do not have time to do 7 hours of dogfights or 5 hours of mining gold to unlock teir 2 on a perk. on top of almost all of the perks are forgettable." the more I think about starfield the more the game screams filler till you pass steams refund deadline.
@@distilledfour25 you can avoid almost all space combat, just turn all the reactor pips off, boom you’re in stealth mode. You don’t have to mine anything. Do not make god builds! Jack of all trades, master of none. If it’s something you’re not interested in doing, don’t do it. Pick a background and stick to it. Role-play and skill wise. You interested in just gun fights? Make a soldier and just dump into heavy weapon skills. You don’t need weapon mods. Ship skills are pointless to the soldier. Sneak is pointless to a soldier Speech is pointless soldiers. Looting and selling is pointless to a soldier. You don’t need carry weight, space suit, gun, that’s it. Stop investing in skills that you don’t need. You wanna make a mining build? then make a dedicated mining build. You wanna ship combat build? Then make a dedicated ship combat build. Wanna crafting build? Then make a dedicated crafting build. Diversify and make dedicated builds focused solely on the system you’re using.
@@christinaedwards5084 your 100% wrong you have to do ship combat even if you dont want to participate and telling people to do that will only frustrate them near the end game. You have to mine if you want to participate in another third of the game. Youve basically just told me ignore 60% of the game and its fun. Crazy thing about the builds your talking about you dont need any of them stealth is practically nonexistant in this game apart from the corporate quest line which require 0 stealth points to invest in mind you along with the "soilder" build being just as useless because you get the same outcome because of the same 12 guns dropping and nothing being difficult existing unless you consider bullet spounge to be hard hot tip here its not. You keep exclaiming dont make god builds where you dont even need to make any sort of build to tank 90% of the enemies in this game. The piloting is okay its not great but it takes away the need for player housing immediately. Also the phrase is jack of all trades master of none, though often times better then a master of one. You cant stick to a rp style beacuse there is next to nothing to rp about other then the space messiah and all its magic powers it affords you. Because again bethesda refuse to lock people off from anything.
They do this on purpose out of spite . No one makes games like bgs so they really hate there customers . They cant take criticism. They cant write . They cant inovate . They honestly do not care . Just wait till es6 oh ill be willing to bet they will double down on the most bland story and even more loading screens . It will be the most disney game ever . Ever since new vegas they have been but hurt because another company did it better and they absolutely hate it and hate us for praising it .

Maybe you're just a glutton for punishment. I know I certainly am. Although, I stopped playing the game shortly after posting this review, I am surprised at how much time I sunk into it. I guess I'm more disappointed about the potential being there as I love sci-fi RPGs and it's not very often that we get a good one. The Outer Worlds was good, not great, but good, and it certainly wasn't as big of an exploratory game as I'd have liked.
Fallout 3 is a great game, not sure why you old ass pc gamers keep acting like 1 and 2 is gaming perfection, it took the concepts into another dimension and did it well enough with the limitations
"old ass pc gamers"? Damn bruh, I didn't realize that people in their 30s are considered elderly 💀 Fallout 3 was awful. It disregarded the lore, simplified the mechanics, and abandoned any moral subtleties by turning all evil choices as cartoonish. Give me an isometric RPG loaded with stats and skill choices any day over a poor RPG/FPS hybrid. Then again, my pension-seeking ass thoroughly enjoyed Wasteland 2 and 3, thanks to the involvement of developers from the original Fallout games.
@@Jupayou know those backgrounds you select? It tells you how to play. Bethesda game are built in a certain way, work with it and it works fairly well, work against it and it works against you. They’re clearly designed to play a certain way. Example:- *cyber runner* From Neon to Atlantis, the mega corps stands as monuments to power, Prestige and profit. You’ve worked both for and against them. Inside and out. Often sacrificing conscience for credits. Skills:- pickpocket, lockpick, stealth. This is a ryujin build! You take the bribe even if it means going against the interests of ryujin. It’s a thief build, not an assassin. No kills (directly made by you) also no armour! Will use chems! You pick the responses most suited to the character. “if theres credits in it for me! “ Scavenging and bribery (or deception if you want to get into smuggling) in social tree compliment the character. will also give you enough points to level manipulation skill that you acquire later on. You could also join the crimson fleet after. (Optional) Alternatively, you choose the ronin background. Make him Japanese, and all about honour. This time you can kill but you remain loyal to ryujin. The assassin stealth melee build. Eats food for damage resistance buffs instead of wearing armour. No chems, his body is a temple. If you try to do everything in one playthrough, there is no ability to role-play, especially if you just pick skills Willy nilly. And no power leveling. You’ll find most of your builds are done by level 20. Then make a new one and do something different. Use different weapons, use different systems. Voice your lines in a new accent. My space scoundrel freestar cowboy sounds like I’m doing my best Forrest Gump impression. He drinks alcohol for persuasion buffs and damage resistance. 😂 My bouncer background Blackman punches random people in the face and is seriously anti social in conversation. Also a massive chem abuser. Made him a pirate. Pick a theme and run with it and stick to it. be as offensive or tame with it as you like. Avoid building god characters that do it all. Avoid being like the guy in the video, jack of all trades, master of none. He’s totally lost and confused and has no directive to follow. It’s why he is having a bad time. He’s doing too much.
