Best thumbnail I've seen yet. So much useful info for ship building. Almost every ship building video I watch, they do not include what their level is. So when your new you go to look for the parts they used and realize oh crap I have to gain 20 levels before I can access that part. Well done sir well done

I used the razor leaf pretty much all the way until level 30ish when I got the star eagle. As my character had no investment in starship design and only the minimal in piloting, these two were life savers. Star eagle is probably best free ship as you get amazing parts for free if you were like me and didn’t invest in ships in early game. I’d love to see you modify that thing for about the level 30 character to see if I made the right choice with mine lol

Great vid! I went with the Stroud cockpit on mine for the 4 crew slots there which then allowed me to get a little more utility with a workshop hab instead of the control station.

This is such a great upgrade video. I was doing a mission where as soon as I warped to a planet, I was attacked by First ships. 2 or 3 at a time, 3 waves. Before this upgrade, I could barely destroy one of their ships before I got taken out. After the upgrade, I went through them like a hot knife through butter. Well worth the coin. You get the quest from reading a note found on the spacers during one of the first quests.

For my Razorleaf I went for the 360T reactor (better hull HP) and just use the Disruptor 3300 for primary and Spark 750 as a secondary with no tertiary weapons. My long term plan is to keep updating the Razorleaf to a class C capital ship once I have those parts unlocked.

the mantis gear is crazy good for how early you can get it, save-scum good effects on the armor and youll wear it for a LONG time.

As a new player, I was totally lost and a little discouraged with the ship builder until I found this vid. So I went and did the mantis mission at level 10 (it took me longer than 20 mins btw) and that got me to level 12. I had extra budget and access to Vanguard so I splurged a little. Then I tweaked the design to add a 3rd hab extended the engines out further and switched the landing gear from a fore to aft design and moved them back in line with the engines to give it more of a jet fighter look. Then I added some sweet looking top wings...hold up. Am i having fun with the ship builder? Thank you Angry Turtle!

You could replace those wing struts with 2 habs, one for workshop and one for the medical bay. Would have more crew space and you would have access to the benches.

Thank you - finally upgraded my ship for the first time (in the late game now). This is the only guide I’ve been able to follow, I found the ship builder too complicated.

Would love to see a fully built endgame Razorleaf (max out skill for ship building and high level and willing to grind out the credits) i love the Razorleaf and wanna keep using it for endgame (also love the passive buff it gets). Havent seen any content regarding endgame builds

Damn. I literally just finished my first ship modding attempt about 3 hours ago, also using the Razorleaf as the starting point. Not going to lie, though... I'm probably going to jump back in and do it over again very shortly. Not exactly this simple and clean, because for aesthetics I do want it to be slightly larger than its original size... Like a "Superleaf"... I've stretched the "neck" by 2 or 3 slots and added more cargo and fuel storage to the rear as well, and I'm very happy with how that has turned out. Also, I stacked 4 missile launchers back where the original two were located above the grav drive, added more forward landing gear (because the flight test said I had to); changed lasers and their mounting positions, and slightly upgraded the shield. I'm only level 16 right now with no shipbuilding skill enhancements yet, so the limitations for level 12 in this are aimed directly at my current abilities in the game as far as shipbuilding goes. I'm definitely looking forward to higher levels and increasing those skills to see what I can do. I also am planning (next) to build a ship of my own completely from scratch, but I can't find a way to start a fresh build in New Atlantis. Do I have to start with another ship and delete everything in the builder and then go from there? Or is there a way that I can just open a blank slate and start a clean build? I'm on Xbox, if that makes a difference.

I ended up scrapping this ship because it was the one I chose to make a build off and now it’s gone. Stupid way of building a ship. Why didn’t they let you build one from a empty pad instead of having to ruin a complete ship.

Hey there, yesterday I noticed that my Deimos Shipyard is gone and that it was in my "ship inventory" I can sell and rebuy it for 0$ each. Any idea how I can "get it back on the map?" I sold it, waited for several days ingame, jumped to different galaxies and reloaded/restarted but it is still missing :D.

Theres another video by SwoleBenji who managed to make the razorleaf even smaller and super cheap. He also turned the Frontier into a maxed out cargo hauler.

The captains quarters has a bed in it, so I don't think you necessarily need to swap that out.

I did follow your advises today, I was toasted by 3 spacers with the frontier, with this build I take no damage alomost and I destroy ennemis in a few secs. Thanks a lot

I wanted my ship to look as starter ship " Frontier " so on lvl 10 I went and bought a pre-made ship called "War Horse" in Neon city ( landing technician has it). It costs 126k credits ( thats a lot I know) but it looks like better version of " Frontier". P.S then I immediately took off underpowered parts and added WAY more powerful weapons + 3 weapon slots were still empty so you can add even more. And yes I only have " piloting" skill level one and nothing else. So anyone can still get that if you wish to invest. It feels like flying a starter ship but its WAY overpowered now.

When you were mentioning about upgrading the 3 PB-30 Electron Beams to the 6 Vanguard Obliterator Autoprojectors, which Vanguard weapons would you replace the 4 PBO-30 Auto Electron Beams and the 4 Disruptor 3300A Auto Electron Beams with? Thank you! Awesome videos!

I wish I could come up with something like that. I took the Ranger ship from Class A to Class C, but it cost me over 400,000 credits, but now it kills anything before I can even get in range to target lock anything.

I have a question about shield modules. I have an around ship with pretty high mass but still a mobility of 79. Then I have a small little fighter with almost no mass but 100 mobility. Both ships have the same Class C shield module with 1.600 shield. But my big arounder displays 1.600 shield in the menu while my fighters has 2.500 shield. I have the better shield perk and also Vasco on my ship. So what is going on here? Does mass effect your shield? I also have the shield upgrades from the crimson fleet installed you get during their quest. But only for the big ship. So why is one ship significantly lower in shield strength then the other?

Greetings. As far as the vanguard out beams go, are they direct replacements of the pb30? Do we need to upgrade anything to power them? I'm in the position to upgrade. Thank you in advanced!

I am actually stunned that those little engines you removed weigh 100 mass each. I've got class C engines that are less weight than those! I'm luckily at the point where my Razorleaf will be getting a Class C reactor and all the goodies that can come with that - but trying to maintain the spirit/ general looks of it.

You can actually put four of those guns up there since they only use 3 power. So basically you have three weapon slots, and each weapon slot can have up to 12 power. If a gun takes 4, you can have 3. If it takes 3, you can have 4. If it takes 2, you can have 6. Maybe one day they will add a weapon that takes all 12 and you can only have one. Nice build though, those radiators look amazing there, and I'm glad the paint all, adjust a little technique is getting out there.

How did you manage to finish the editing without the landing gear? It won't let me do this model without the deleted landing gears. Either a bug allowed you to, or you might have extra skills or edited something else that you might forgot to add?

You must have a mod on allowing you to skip out on landing gear cause yeah few things missing for it to actualy work here on xbox sutch as landing gear

Great budget build. Razorleaf carried me out of the early game. Had I known what weapons even did what It could have been even better.

This and your Freestar upgrade solve two major headaches in this game for me - TYVM One suggestion - Could you take a look at the easiest /cheapest solution for the Main quest Final Glimpse, where you need the 27LY Grav jump? I am using my Rasorleaf because of your guide, but could you give us one for the Frontier?

I really like the way you explain the ship building process. It looked complicated. This is my favorite ship. I hope you can make a finished version with some missiles. I like Star Trek deep space 9 and I like to make a Defiant ship. Love you channel.

I am currently Level 19, but for some reason I do not have some of the parts available that you have been using. I love the Razorleaf and would love to follow your build. But there's no Dogstar Reactor, no Nova Radiator... where did I go wrong?

I am a loot rat and like to load up my cargo with loot every time i go out, so i can sell when i get back to a planet that has traders. You can add 2 more cargo bay below the radiators, but you will need more landing gears. Bumped the cargo hold to 1000 capacity.

Followed this build entirely and it’s awesome. Haven’t had any issues in space since. How would you suggest adding more cargo to it though?

This seems based on a bug with the landing gear... If you try to occupy the slots the gear was in, it doesn't let you, and says too few landing gear parts. I opted for cargo space there, and it stopped me for that reason!

Are the Vanguard Obliterator Autoprojectors a Beam, Laser, EM or Ballistic weapon? I tried putting a SP into each but did not see and change to the damage rating.

Nah i just upgraded/modify it to a class c ship. And still get those begging for mercy scenario 😂. Though i retained the captains quarter, armory and landing bay. How do i get to class c, apply for vanguard and play their simulator. How to 400k credits, i usually explore abandoned structure and sell their weapon. Starfield economy is kinda slow, so i just stocked my loot at the infinite loot box on the lodge.

3:40 there is no Nova Weapon Mount at lvl 12 :( also you have to delete racket launchers ;)

Thanks dude, I used Razorleaf until level 45 sadly I need more LY jump power. Why so many bad reviews on this game? I'm 72 years old and I think it's awesome. Is it too big, complicated, too grinding, I have no idea. This is a great video for those getting started. Hell I'm still The Mantis.

After removing the first landing gear you receive 89 credits but I only receive 81… the build ends up being over 80k for me aswell following exactly. Some please explain why, I’ve spent so long doing this 😢

I did the exact build from the Den. The 134MM Toroidal Reactor cost me 17500. It only cost you 14000. I dont know why.

Turtle! I need your help.. I have same shield on 2 different ships, with same crew and full power assigned. The shield number on overview says 1449 on one and 2320 on the other. It is the exact same shield, both have class b reactors, they're fully repaired, why is the shield giving different values? Is it bugged? I'm using vanguard Bulwark shield generator and it's showing same stats when I select shield system on both ships. But on ship overview the values differ.

I thought this was going to be the answer to my problem. Im currently stuck in the main story on the Revelation mission. I didn’t know telling both The Emissary and The Hunter to go fugg themselves would result in a future mission in which, as soon as it begins, their ships attack mine completely destroying it within seconds I dunno what to do!!!

In your initial build you had 20 power, but when you are showing us testing it, you have 21? I cant work out where to get that remaining one from, and it means I cant power my first weapon up to max 😟

So you must have mods, or other secrets. I wanted to add about 500 more cargo to about 1500 on most my ships since lazy bethesda wants to dump so much trash to cargo everytime i work on a ship. I added 210 to each side of structure with no changes. But thatr hurt my mobility. As soon as I added the next up on the small round engines I got an error I had to add more gear. That thing u did where u trash engines and gear didnt work either.

what are you talking about vanguard ? i cant see any vanguard option for weapon?

Great vids. I have a vid idea for you. Create a video on how to get back up and running with a great ship after you start ng+. For example I have class c license but of course no credits so finding a balance between powerful and inexpensive with a base like razor or star eagle or stealing a ship somewhere.

Everything was fine until I put those radiators on. If I get rid of the landing gear you told me to get rid of, then it tells me I need more landing gear. when I put the landing gear back on, it won't let me properly align the landing gear with the landing bay Also If I can't put the radiators on I can't assign the extra weapons needed.

I really can't understand why so many people are praising this ship?! Go to Titan, Cydonia, Stroud Eklund SS and Neon in order to find Vagabond, Marathon, Warwolf and War Star. All of these are WAY better than Mantis! Only the Star Eagle is on par with War Horse, but that ship can't be bought on the consoles, because the ship technician, from Neon, is ... in the Ocean. 🙂

I followed this to the letter. I have a lot of different states. My jump range only 24, yours is 28. And all my weapons are the same, yet my stats are lower.

ive copied everything step for step and on PAR i olny have 39 36 32, and not like you in the video 54 50 44. ii cancelled and started everything again and i still ended up the same and not like in he video. Every other stats are the same like in the vidoe but my jump range is different, i gues thats because i have some points in jump grav range. Can somone please help me to get the same PAR like in the video?
