I love the look of these Va'ruun ships, not sure why. I nabbed a Prophecy I not too long ago (forget where probably a moon in Serpentis), and planning to roleplay it as a long distance exploration ship vs. a fighter brick. Will probably streamline the maze-like interior, get rid of as many ladders and useless cargo bays as possible and swap in habs, living quarters, workshop/science/infirmary. All my other ships have tended towards Nova Galactic since I'm a NASA style fanboy, but will keep with the Stroud/Eklund theme with the rebuild. If anyone has ever done a Prophecy rework video, please do let me know.
The dark blue/black color scheme of the Va’ruun fleet is my fave color. The sheen it has when the light hits it just right is awesome, in my opinion at least
If you pull off some of the structural things off the front, the cabot cockpit fits fight on it, breaks up the brick look. Not sure if I like but it's way different. 😊
Found one on the ground on Serpentis system, nabbed it. It's an absolute brick, until you upgrade the weapons and reactor in which case it becomes a danegrous brick. I love it! Can't wait till you review the Va'ruun Dirge, which is a nippy little guy I will using once I have all my research complete and I don't need to haul resources anymore.
Ive learned to love this ship. Even with the decent cago capacity Ive kinda become one of those players that just ditch stuff on the floor. There's so many little rooms to fill with junk... it's organized chaos in there.
Great series of videos you are doing here. I'd be curious to see at some point like a tier list or top five summary with your picks for best and worst vendor ships in the game in terms of performance for value or having unusually good modules for a reasonable price. I'm also curious what ship is the absolute cheapest if you just want to buy one for building over. I think it is the Rambler but I haven't done a thorough review of all the vendores to confirm that.
I have a tier list in the works, just hunting down the last few vessels. As for the cheapest, I'd say its close between the rambler and the mako as they are both quite small
If you add the mod Compact Reactors and Grav Drives by American Vikingr to your Va'ruun ships you can remove the large original ones and replace them with habs. The compact reactors and grav drives are only the size of a ship window and can be placed on top of your ships. They are also just as powerful as the large original ones but look like the top domed heads of astro droids from star wars. lol
I got another 3 tonight, two varunn ships landed right near a fuel depot, this one and the next smaller sized space brick. I should have just sold it, but I can't help myself, I fixed it up. And yep the crew is driving me crazy again with talking to me while flying, I just got the bigger cockpit, we shall see if they shut up. I'm going to have some fun with it, maybe I'll keep it as my big cargo ship. I got the mobility up to 99
Got myself a prophecy III on Mercury today. Always seem to get one Zealot who’s hiding somewhere before can take it. No contraband which was good as didn’t fancy searching a ship of that size. Did also have a Dirge III but sold that one.
I got another last last night, I already have one that I pimped out, so I'm just wasting a lot of credits trying to make something different with it. Pulled off a lot of structural parts, half the ship is just bracers :), removed habs I don't use, put a different cockpit(viking ) on, crew never shuts up in those tiki ones. Put the Walter quest C class engines on, so now it has 100 mobility while still hauling huge cargo. Got rid of the big fuel tanks, even though I liked the look. I have to say it looks pretty cool now, something totally different but still looks like a prophecy but a little shorter. Yep so broke again, just can't stop building ships. But I did find a outpost on Venus with a vendor so I built a small out post next to it and I can just go into the vendor and sell and than sit for an hour with is 100 hours and repeat, still annoying but it beats running from store to store and planet to planet selling a ship full of stuff to support my ship building habit.
On the comment about the location of enginnering hab modules to be mostly on the belly of spaceships, it's because that is where the engines' rooms are located on naval ships. All the heavy stuff below the waterline. But I guess that in spaceships, engines' rooms could be located anywhere. You don't need to balance loads and cargo when you have those big ass grav engines that make artificial gravity and instant bend space time to travel. I have one ship that since the engines are high and without nacelles, I put the engineer bay on the top floor to simulate that those machines on both sides of the room are part of the engines.
Just got this ship! I have class B cert so I'm not sure how. Maybe I got the lower reactor version? But I need 44k to register and blew all my money upgrading my Galileo to class B with better weapons to get this ship in the first place. I think I'll keep both, but I'm excited to modify this Propecy to make it have better habs and less ladders. All the stuff to make it look pretty is time consuming so I like getting a good looking ship and switching out the habs and not messing with the structural pieces that make it look good. But having a good looking ship on my adventure is one of the most important things!
I got a 3 last night, it had a 37 reactor, took out that huge useless cargo area inside, changed the engines to get the mobility up somewhat, because after I upgraded everything it was down to 52, it's up to 72 now, still a flying brick, The bridge drove me crazy, they all sit around you talking to you. I'm trying out a different version of the bridge, hopefully they shut up or it'll be sold :).
@@EricLidiak I don't remember, but I usually use those big c class engines that use four power the Poseidon engines you can get on Titian for my big c class ship that do a lot of cargo.
Thank you for the video. I really like the external aesthetic, but the innards are usually mazes. The 1600 shield appears on the Stronghold. I have not found one on a pirate, merc, spacer, or Va'ruun ship yet. The activator for the Galley is closer to the sink.
Got one of these at lvl 16, needed a few tryes but got it with some strategy to aproach and not die instantly. Boarded it with previously captured and modified phantom that i got at lvl 6 :D, the phantom came with a A20 reactor so it was a awesome ship at low lvl, now the C30 reactor will be awesome till lvl 60 ish. Already did some heavy modifications to it on previous gameplays and eill surrlly com up eith something nice, most likely will switch the cockpit with the big one from deimos because of the reasons mentioned in the video.
I went up against two of these, and it was a pretty tough fight.. managed to disable one and board it, then once it was mine used it to destroy the other one.. took me 4 attempts though.. these are tough ships! Found them in Jaffa II-A
You can buy the Shackleton at several vendors. It has 1500 shield. It has lower stats on other things but it is a great first class B to buy and upgrade since that shield takes level 4 starship engineering to get otherwise. Also Shackleton was an explorer and is famous for a south pole expedition where he and his crew were stranded for over a year and a half and through great leadership he managed to save them all. They built a ship from the remains of some lifeboats and sailed back to the sandwich islands. Its an amazing story, look him up!
🫡Hey, I lied for Vae Victis and do his Bounty runs which go way out...I pick one or two ships landing even before running to the bounty location...Just grabbed this one this morning before work...I am running low on credits getting all these ships registered😂
Good Stuff Mate! Appreciate the effort with these Vid's & your Streams i enjoy them very much. One thing i hope gets addressed soon is the Dead Bodies on the Ships you steal... It's very frustrating after a while hauling Corpses all over the Universe
You can remove the bodies by modifying the ship. I only found out this recently. Just add a window, save the ship, then remove it and save again, and your ships cleam
